Overrated. Tried pork leg rice, Penang loh mee and Penang style CCF, all were subpar. Pork leg rice - Quite bland. The egg used was not even a proper lu-dan (soy egg), just a plain hard boiled egg. They did not even serve it with salted vege. Not good and not authentic. Penang loh mee - I'm a fan of Penang loh mee, but the loh mee gravvy of this stall was just average. Penang style CCF - did not really like the "special" shrimp paste sauce from this stall, too much peanut flavour, could not really taste the shrimp paste. I think the usual shrimp paste without too much mixture of other ingredients will do the trick.

Many hawker stalls and a galore of food... variety of Penang hawker delight which are available here. Stalls here are Curry Mee, Lor Bak, One Bowl Rice (Rice with a dish), Wan Tan Mee, Porridge, Chicken Rice, Char Koay Teow, Char Hor Fun, Koay Teow Soup, Jawa Mee, Chee Cheong Fun, Nasi Lemak, Tu Kar Rice, Japanese Food and Mini Kuih. The notable stalls are Hokkien Mee and Curry Mee. Great place to have breakfast but kinda warm and pack during peak hours (Breakfast and lunch time).

Curry Mee is awesome and Chee Cheong Fun is still good just standard drop a bit. The Char Hor Fun is bad, like really bad, like disaster bad. The environment is like a typical kopitiam, packed, tight, hot and stuffy. Many food options here but not all are really worthy of authentic Penang hawker food flavor.

I am here just to appraise the Kueh Teow Th’ng stall, other than that I would not say much even the Chee Cheong Fun. This stall of KTT serve instant cook noodle, kueh teow, yellow noodle, maggi, bihun. A few type of soup base available but I today I would like to review on its milk-base soup. Hardly to get in Penang but I managed to found it here. Very well balanced soup, not too salty nor sweet. You can opt out the black pepper just to have to milk-base soup & taste definately delicious also. Very kind seller and they can remember which condiments you dont prefer. Big portion with fair price. I notice the seller very meticulous when preparing my serving. If you the kind that like intestine, they do have it as well and not smelly like others.

Tasty iced fresh lemon tea, make a good start of my day, so refreshing. Rice rolls taste good, the texture and sauce are good, I don't like shrimp smell sauce, the sauce they put don't have this smell. White curry noodle tastes good, soup have the smell of coconut.

One of the best Chee Cheong fun I ever had. Curry mee was good too (portion was about small). One of my go to cafes for breakfast in Penang.

5 star comparing with similarly themed kopitiam experience. This is the quintessential kopitiam of penang experience. Multiple stalls selling a variety of different food. No repetition of choices. There's everything for nearly everyone. Tables close together. Throng of human beings. Noisy conversation. Hustle and bustle of activities. As for the food, the Chee cheong fan is a must try. The sauce is unique and something I can't find in most places. Creamy, nutty, enough saltiness with nicely soft steamed main. Looking at the persistent queue bears testament to its deliciousness. The wan tan mee is also quite delicious. Springy noodles and well seasoned sauce. The soup is a bit bland but that's a not one of the main reasons one ways wan tan mee The hokkien lor is however just standard taste. Nothing to write about The char kuay teow is disappointing. Don't order this or ask them to cook it less spicy. I can't taste anything but hot spice. Not enough salt. Not enough of anything else. It's like eating just spice and kuay teow. Very bad The only bad thing about this place is that multiple stalls are manned by assistants. And the food is not cooked by the original owners. Whether that's a factor that affects the taste is up to up choice I suppose. Parking is also a huge headache but that's expected.

As we were in the neighbourhood, tried the famous Genting chu cheong fun. Different for us as we are used with a filling and this one without, but the texture is quite nice and the sesame sauce makes the dish tasty. I stayed away from the chili sauce which is very spicy. Also tried the pork leg rice, but as written in earlier reviews, that is a subpar dish. Not recommended.

Drop in for lunch and the cafe, was expecting crowded but it isn’t. Every time when I’m here there would only 2 stall I will order from. The Thai pork leg rice which is still as good but need improvement on the rice. It was dry and tasteless. Lucky the pork leg gravy able to compensate it. The best of the chee cheong fun. Still as good, queue were long but they are fast paced in preparation. Still the best chee cheong fun in the island to me. Don’t ever order the curry. My colleague regretted as it was serve in very small bowl and pricey too. Price was raise because of Penang food hype. Nothing to be shout off with the ingredients and soup.

Hawker center famous for its chee cheong but this time we got wantan mee and char kway teow. Wantan mee was quite good, the noodles were springy, soft and chewy. The wantans were alright but the sauce was amazing! Flavourful but not overly salty and oily. Char kway teow was also good with some wok hey. Price was very good (4-5RM per portion). Place was a bit cramped and noisy during lunchtime but that's part of the hawker experience. Will come back for the chee cheong fun when it opens!

The best hawker food among all in Penang. The Chee cheong fun is the best, out of this world sauce with a mix of peanut sauce, shrimp paste and sweet sauce. Char kuew tiew is piping hot with good wok hei. Kopi Peng is our favorite, kaw kaw taste. All other food stalls are also satisfying. Crowded in the morning. Morning market is just in front of the coffee shop.

One of a few established restaurant within this island glades housing area, which sees generational patrons as customers. Limited parking on narrow streets. Worth calling out, is the local iced coffee, which is very strong and the soft appam, as good as uncle guan's on burma road. Both consistent over the years. The other hawker stalls are a run-of-the-mill.

My all time favorite. Their Chee cheong fun is to die for, must have whenever in Penang! Had their char koay teow for the first time. It is pretty well done too. There's option for chicken egg (RM6) or duck egg (RM6.5). There's still some vacant seats when I came at 9am on a Monday. However, parking is a challenge. Looking forward to try other stalls!

The Chee Cheong Fun is really nice, taste very smooth and delicious. Tried curry mee and kuew tiaw soup as well, also good. Arrived around 9am, still got vacant tables but it was difficult to find parking. This place is crowded with people because morning market is in front of the kopitiam.

Chee cheong fun wasn't that great. Ipoh chee cheong fun better 1000 times. The prawn noodle was good, curry mee ok saja la.

One of the famous kopitiam in Penang Island. A number of great hawker stalls serve a variety of local foods. And there is morning market outside of the kopitiam. Do prepare to share table with others as it is always crowded during peak hours. Parking is NOT easily available, so be patient and prepare to round and round the area in order to park your vehicle.
