I'm very impressed here at Shambhala retreat Byron Bay. Beautiful place! A great place for peace, calmness and healing. We are enjoying watching the sunrise. Time well worth spent here in Byron Bay!

I am very disappointed with my stay in the Shiva room. Initially, it seemed like a lovely room with a great atmosphere. However, when the blinds were lowered, they proved to be completely transparent, lacking privacy. Other guests could see directly into the lounge room and bedroom, which was quite concerning. I am unsure why the issue with the blinds couldn't be fixed, especially considering that blinds are generally affordable. It would have been a simple solution to ensure guest privacy. Furthermore, I was disappointed to find that we were only provided with two towels for the entire duration of our trip. Moreover, in the cooler months, the towels remained constantly damp, which was quite uncomfortable. In addition to these issues, I noticed a significant amount of dust behind the bed and bedside cabinets. It seemed like the unit hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in some time. Overall, my experience in the Shiva room fell short of my expectations, and I am left feeling very disappointed.

Tranquil and relaxing resort, absolute piece of heaven. Perfect location in front of the beautiful beach, walking distance to many cafes. perfect for couples get away, Honey Moon, Baby moon or wedding staycation. The hosts are very friendly and are not hesitant to help. Absolutely recommend<3

Just a 25 minute walk along the beach from Byron Bay township is Shambhala. A quiet, tranquil oasis of shade and peace close to the the bustle of Byron. The unit that we were in (Shiva) had a large lounge (used as the yoga room during yoga retreats), a comfortable double bed with an ensuite (shower only). Really enjoyed the steam room and the sauna, both excellent. There’s no pool at Shambhala and our room didn’t have a spa like the others and no dishwasher. It’s right on the beach so great for a morning walk or swim. Stayed 5 nights, the room was serviced on day 3 only. Fresh towels each day would be an improvement. Would stay again, very pleasant:)

Unfortunately the rain was heavy while we were here and our roof made of tin/plastic, so it was hard to hear each other talk when rain was coming down. Overall though, place is relaxing and can't wait to come back when it's sunny. Beach is 100%!

Do yourself a favour and take that special someone here! This place is something special. This was our second stay and doubt it will be the last! You have privacy but also close to the hub if you want to go out. I was reading the guest book and seems to be a popular spot to get engaged. Can’t fault it and looking forward to going back!

Had a beautiful couple of night's in the 'Sarita' cottage. Peaceful, quiet and relaxing. Shambhala location is fabulous, right on the beach and less than 5mins from the town. The cottage was very warm and inviting.. lot's of natural light and everything you could possibly need. The staff are friendly and helpful.. and completely leave you alone to just chill and enjoy the space. All the cottage's have their own private spa and the grounds are well maintained with timber walk ways leading you from your bungalow to the beach. I will definitely be back. Hopefully soon and hopefully often.

With Covid stopping us from travelling. We decided to find local. Glad we did, it’s like stepping into a retreat. I have been recommending to my friends and family. Definitely coming back.

We stayed in the Shanti Villa for 3 nights and it was amazing. The location is too great to detail, felt very exclusive. The beach was so private and perfect. The views were great. Our room came with a private deck with cabana and amazing views, bear in mind though the villa is down the hill nestled in the Balinese themed naturescape with a wonderful long bridge and stairs connecting it to the deck and beach.

What an absolute slice of heaven. The retreat was everything and more! The rooms were amazing and each fitted with Air conditioning. Everything was clean and tidy. 5/5 the communication with the owners were top tier, they were very accommodating to pur late arrival and late check out.

Amazing people who looked after us making sure we enjoy our stay. My 2 pugs enjoyed the long weekend. Pet friendly and very relaxing. Cant wait to book again.

Great location and secure. The shower would completely flood the bathroom floor and into and across the floor of the bedroom…..which we had to use all our beach towels and some to soak up water…..what is super disappointing is this is already mentioned in previous reviews and not yet fixed….I would hate to see someone slip over during the night to the bathroom. Half the unit is in full view for everyone to view in from the main path passing 2 meter in front of the floor to ceiling windows. I feel it’s overpriced. We were a late arrival so never got to meet manager….but the lead up to booking and arrival was super organised professional friendly and easy to checkin.
