We arrived at this restaurant motivated by the high rating on Google. I guess I should have looked at the latest reviews! Has there been any change recently with the food around here? however, the food was overpriced, especially compared to other places in Byron where you get amazing food for same or lower prices. nachos were expensive for a very small portion and just a little bit of guacamole…, the tacos did not have a good flavor, especially the lamb and crab ones, lamb almost tasteless. The cabbage was pretty thick, a bit more effort would be appreciated. the Mexican punch juice was good and the pork and shrimp taco were better than the others. For drinks, we were a bit impressed at first that as soon as we ordered a margarita they asked us if we wanted to upgrade to a better tequila quality. Why would you do that if you are ordering a margarita in a Mexican restaurant for 20 Aud? Shouldn’t it just be standard? Well, In fact, when we tasted it, it was very watery. It is a pity for the waiters, they were great. Very friendly and quick, it's a shame that the quality of the food is not equal to the service. very nice decoration, but the music is a bit too loud.

It’s a tiny & cute restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. We came for taco Tuesday and we were happy about our reservation. The tacos were yummy and the drinks were good. If you want to enjoy taco Tuesday - do not forgot to do the online reservation.

An incredible place that ended up being my favourite stop for food at Byron Bay, so much that I went twice on the same day for the tacos! Don Pedros, is not your regular taco place, being from South America I was delighted with the Mexican-Latino flavour in some of their tacos. My favourite taco was the "Aguachille" and "Fried Prawn (with chimichurri)". The staff was friendly, Kiara was awesome and Carlos (owner) came to check on us during our meal. I strongly suggest you to try their passion fruit margarita, it was worth the money !! I liked the place so much I ended up also asking for their playlist. Take advantage of their taco Tuesday and you and your wallet will leave with a big ear to ear smile 😃

Authentic and delicious flavoursome food. The service was so friendly, the cocktails amazing. We shared a number of dishes with our group of 5 and loved them all. We will be back and highly recommend Don Pedro, great relaxing vibe!!

So Delicious, we had a Taco Platter with Crab and fish and it was so tasty. Crab was really insane. All ingredients were fresh, the plate looked amazing. Staff is really friendliy too, would come here every week if i would life in Byron Bay.

Unfortunately the service from one of the young male employees was very hostile with my friend and I when we went to pay. We pointed out that they had missed 2 tacos on our order and if we could take them off the bill. The worker got very defensive and was swearing at my friend and I for asking to take this off the bill. The only reason this is not a 1 star review is because the lovely young girl serving alongside this man was very kind and helpful.

Don Pedro’s Mexican Cantina has a cool vibe created with interior decor and Latin American music. The food and drinks menu is extensive. I had two tacos a side of French fries and a drink. The tacos were fresh and included ingredients like lime and pineapple and Mexican cheese. I opted for one fish and one beef. Probably the best value eat in lunch I’ve had in Byron.

Ehh, like a bad night in the kitchen if you were home cooking. Even coming in after drinks it didn’t disguise the bad value, dry meat that we entailed. Restaurant is a stretch, felt more like a half way house for a diner and the prices did not reflect this. Despite an empty restaurant they did not let us split a bill for 7 people. Honestly buy yourself an old El Paso kit and enjoy a better meal. Also - they got the order wrong and tried to ignore it, prawns not pork… we accepted the mistake but no apology. Also brought normal marg’s not spicy as ordered - this they corrected but gee whiz… training wheels!

We didn’t have a great experience tonight, we ordered a few things, the corn was enjoyable. We also ordered nachos, but they came without black beans. When we inquired about the missing black beans, the staff brought us a side dish of baked beans, which was amusing but acceptable. However, our disappointment came with the main courses. The mushroom tacos had only two slices of mushroom, and they weren't even fresh; they were slimy canned mushrooms. I couldn't eat any of it. We also opted for the mushroom quesadilla because we were told they had run out of chicken, beef, and fish. It makes you wonder how difficult it would be to go to the supermarket and acquire fresh ingredients to prepare with care. I was incredibly frustrated, and we spent $65 on an unsatisfying meal. My dinner consisted of just corn, some corn chips, and avocado. I don't understand why the restaurant wouldn't consider closing if they ran out of ingredients or staff. It seems like a case of greed at the expense of the customers.

Stopped on a whim and thank heavens we did. We had the grilled corn and the taco platter with the lamb and beef. A couple of cocktails and Coronas rounded the might off. It was only expensive as we couldn't stop drinking cocktails. You need to stop and try this place out. 10 out of 10.

The food was absolutely amazing and the drinks were top notch followed by amazing service ! I had lunch last saturday and everything was perfect. The service was very good and fast. Also the food was excellent, i think the best mexican food in Byron Bay. I will return for sure :)

The service was the best, really friendly staff. You should try the Classic Margarita and the Coconut one. The food was also amazing, I cant recommend just one! Im sorry but I ate my tacos before my girlfriend took the picture. Thanks guys for this amazing night full of food and amazing drinks!

Amazing food, great drinks. It was so good we came back the next day. Highly recommend the taco platter we tried the lamb shoulder ( my favourite) beef brisket and the pulled pork. Portion size is large we ordered extra tortillas to finish.

Amazing food! I asked for the beef brisket and the Aguachile tacos. It was so good that I ate them before to take a picture. The watermelon Marguerita surprise me greatfully. Beautiful place and close to the main.

Such an amazing place. Wonderful food, and drink. The staff Nacho and Rajesh were so welcoming and professional, they suggested some of the best food and drink options. The Coconut Lichi Mocktail as suggested by Nacho & Rajesh were so soothing, one of the best Mocktails I ever had. Quesadilla were delicious and mount watering. Special mention about Nacho & Rajesh, they are very professional and kind. Must visit when u r in Byron🙂

The best Mexican food I’ve had in ages. So fresh & delicious. We had our 2 small children with us and the staff were very attentive and playful with them which was SO appreciated.

Really enjoyed my dining experience here at Don Pedros ! 🤩 My company and I had traveled from Sydney and the staff were really nice and welcoming and ensured we enjoyed our dining experiences . The menu had a decent array of dishes but had limited vegan options for those on a plant based diet 🌱 My company and I ordered a fair few things including guacamole , crispy prawn tostaditas , loaded fries , shoe string fries , the side salad and the taco platter . I then ordered Mushroom and Pepe tacos and had requested no cheese or chipotle aioli 🌮 🍟 Even though they did not have any vegan substitutes ; the staff members were really hospitable and attended my request for hot sauce and other condiments to pair with my food 🌶 I enjoyed my dishes and the guacamole was off tap 👌🏽 I do however ; feel as though the fries would of been perfectly paired with herbed salt or chipotle seasoning . Additionally, the inclusion of different salads and plant based cheese , sauces and meats would be a great addition to the menu and will appeal to many people who live on a plant based lifestyle 🙌🏻 None the less; the quality of the food , paired with the great customer service , stylish decor and margaritas really made my night ! 😍 I look forward to returning to this store the next time I holiday in Byron again and hope the menu is more inclusive of plant based options 🙏🏼 🙌🏻 🌱

Tacos are cold, dripping from water because the lettuce they put inside was still very wet. Overall dishes are not really salted. You have to walk around the block to get to the toilet. There are definitely better mexican restaurants in Byron Bay.

After reading the reviews we decided to go here. We ordered tacos - 10 in total , like a few other reviews the taco fillings were cold , along with the tortillas. We were disappointed and informed the waiter who gave us a discount on the bill . The food is obviously pre cooked but not heated accordingly. Honestly we were disappointed and believe some improved quality control is required for this place to survive .

Just okay tacos drenched in mayo with all the same seasoning. Not bad but disappointing for a 4.9 rated place. Nice decor and staff. Screaming drunk banshees ruined the vibe when we were there.

We ordered two vegan tacos and some chips, the portion was very small and one of the tacos tasted a little bit burn. It’s a nice place but maybe overrated.
