La Caleta is what I would describe as a "city beach" which for me personally doesn't really cut it. If you're looking for something with nicer sand, more space and better swimming I'd recommend the 15 minute walk to Playa Santa Maria del Mar or Playa Maria de la Victoria. Having said that there are a lot of positives. The location is great - close to bars and restaurants and with views of San Sebastian and Santa Catalina castles. It's also a good spot to catch a sunset. There's a beach club and beach chairs and snacks are available. The beach is shallow so it's safe for children and there is a lifeguard. However it's quite tidal and when the tide goes out it's not so pretty to look at and would make me think twice about actually swimming there - especially with all the small fishing boats moored there. The footing could be quite slippery and rocky.

A gorgeous beach with a great boardwalk. There are two castles that around and some great restaurants close by. There are some buildings in the middle of the beach, which is good. If you need some shade.

A very nice beach. Full of boats waiting for the tide to come in. A really nice scene for professional photography or film.

Cadiz is an amazing little town woth fabulous food. We loved coming to the beach here, renting a lounge chair and umbrella for 7.5euro each and relaxing. Bathrooms are free and easily accessible.

A brilliant beach with showers and quick access to restaurants and stalls. The beach and sea were clean but can get a tad busy.

Beautiful beach setting. We were there in March and the beach was pretty empty although I suspect it would be crowded in the summer. It's a great spot to grab some food and wine and watch the fisherman's boats on the water.

pretty beach with clear blue water. this wa where die another day shot “cuba” in 2002. i found it interesting that swim top is optional for women on this beach even though there are families with little kids there. i guess it’s a european thing.

A great gem. Overlooking the cove with outdoor seating. Food is great, fresh and made to order. Fantastic place. We were lucky but best to reserve in advance.

It is more for having a beer in the sun with your friends than for really swimming but it’s a charming place, just a bit dirty.

Smaller beach compare to the neighbouring Playa Santa del Mar but still serves great experiences!

Small beach so often very busy but great places to watch the sunset as it’s goes down over the Atlantic. Can get popular quick so best to get a place earlier to watch it go down

Overcrowded and small. Water is not clean. I would recommend to go to another beach.

Beach itself is nothing special. Would not swim there looking at the water. Nice setting and some toilets available. Beautiful sunset.

Beautiful without people. Dirty beach on summer, dirty water also in summer.

I was only in Cadiz for a day. A local told me about La Caleta and that the Halle Berry/Jinx beach scene was filmed here as part of the Die Another Day Bond film so I thought I’d have a stroll over. Free, clean toilets.

A great quiet beach before 11.00am. After 11, it gets quite crowded. But close walking distance from the town. And only 25 minutes walk from the cruise terminal.

Very relaxing, just gotta take into account when is low or high tide, otherwise people are very friendly. Good places for drinking around and there’s a castle just up the road you can walk to :)

Lovely beach , with a interesting Pavilion on it. Walks to the forts on either side. Or just relax on the beach and watch the world pass by.
