BEWARE: You are not safe here, and they treat you like dirt. I just completed a stay at The Cape, which I planned and worked on with the concierge for 3 months. I gathered over 20 friends there for my birthday. We rented the best villas on the resort and planned a dinner event, boating, pool cabanas, etc. The Cape failed in every important area, including hospitality, safety, and service recovery. Hospitality: I’ve organized events at hotels around the world. Normally, I’m personally greeted by a manager or concierge soon after arrival to thank me and confirm event details/preferences. No such greeting ever occurred, and I was not even informed of the perks that came with my $2,000 per night villa (I found out from a waiter on day 5). At my birthday event, the dessert was not even served. Throughout our 6-day stay, it consistently took 20-30 minutes to place food/drink orders and required us getting up and tracking down waiters. Then it took another 30-40 minutes to actually get served. Safety: This is the most concerning area. My husband was unable to come to the event at the last minute, so I was in my bedroom alone but sharing a 3-bedroom villa with friends. My second night there, I awoke to find someone had broken into my room and pried 3 large diamonds out of my engagement ring. The ring was left behind, I assume to not trigger metal detectors. I reported to security right away. I was scared every night about someone getting into to my room again. I didn’t get any follow-up until 2 days later, after I asked multiple times. They then told me the front doors are unweighted, so often don’t close fully. They had no video footage showing break in at my front door, but they had no cameras on any balconies. They had no explanation for what happened, no reassurances about how to keep me safe for the remaining nights, and no apologies. Service Recovery: Given this overall experience, a junior manager offered me a $500 credit, which I alerted him was less than 1% off the over $50,000 revenue I brought the hotel with my event. I asked multiple times to speak to the head manager to ask about security and service, only to have him show up 5 minutes before my departure to the airport. He commented that he had been too busy so had other staff handle my issues for the past 6 days. Then condescendingly said, “It’s unfortunate you perceive you had a bad experience,” implying it was all because of me. Given the facts I describe above, I doubt anyone would perceive differently. Stay somewhere else. Any other place at this price-point will do better.

This property is incredibly overpriced for the condition it's currently in. Thankfully we booked it with points, but even that was a bit of a waste. The bathroom was coated in black mold, and the grout between the tiles was black with age. There is only really one pool, which is a huge disappointment compared to the other huge resorts that are similarly priced in the area. At the pool, service was impossible to get service most of the time we were there and tended to be slow in the restaurants. There is also EDM music playing all day at the pool and there's no option to go relax anywhere quieter. The pool drinks were awful, but thankfully the pool food was good. The other restaurants and bars had decent drinks and food, but were overpriced. They also let us know in advance that the lobby bar was under construction and told us it would be minimal disruption to our stay. What they didn't let us know is that the bar is not enclosed, so the drilling noises were incredibly loud throughout the property, especially from the pool. We also inquired if there was other construction and were told there was not, and they made a note to place us in a room as far from construction noise as they could. We woke up Monday morning to construction in the room underneath us. They were working on the balcony which left our balcony coated in rust, on which we had a couple swimsuits drying. Housekeeping was kind enough to deep clean it, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. The hotel wasn't even full and they could have placed us in another room. On our last night we also went up to the rooftop bar for sunset and half it was under construction, blocking all the best sunset viewing spots. We have stayed at other high end properties for around the same price or less and the service went above and beyond. The Cape is an overpriced, very average hotel. Really you're just paying for the stellar view, but not much else.

There is certainly a reason this place is famous and hotel rooms can run $1k+ per night. We didn’t stay here but visited the rooftop. We were obsessed! The vibe was immaculate. Drinks were delicious and fairly priced. And the views…wow, just wow. I’ve never in my life seen a sunset like I did that night. Make a res and get great seats ahead of time.

We had a really fantastic stay here at The Cape. It was our first time at a Thompson hotel. We were so grateful for the suite upgrade in connection with our Hyatt Globalist status. The rooms were spacious and well appointed. Staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. At the main pool, Mr Jaime went out of his way to help us get great chairs and shades. The breakfasts at The Ledge were really fantastic - we left full and happy. The vibe of this hotel is pretty young and lively.

It's not often that the hotel is so wonderful you really don't even have to leave. We stayed for 4 nights and actually cancelled a few plans around Cabo just to enjoy the hotel, its views and amenities. All the food we ate at the hotel was superb, I repeat, all the food! Breakfast at The Ledge, lunch by the pool, dinner at Manta and then small plates later in the evening at the Rooftop, not a single complaint. The service at the gym was great, the spa staff was so kind and welcoming also. When you walk down the halls and run into hotel staff they all smile and say hello as if they've known you all along. The room was perfect and so was the view. On one occasion we had a small leak of water condensing from the AC in the closet, it dripped on some of my clothes and floor which wasn't a big deal, but I called for maintenance. When we get back to our room later that day, my shirts had been ironed and dry cleaned without even asking! They took it upon themselves and it was greatly appreciated. The unexpected truffles and chocolate covered strawberries with the bottle of prosecco for our anniversary also sealed the deal for my wife and I. Next time we're in Cabo, we wouldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

If you are looking for a high end luxury hotel for you and your significant other, look elsewhere. I wasn’t able to check in at 3pm - they said they would contact me via text and was never contacted. For the price of $950 a night, I would expect someone to contact you to check in as soon as possible. This clearly is not important for this hotel. You will also have the honor of having weird stains on your pillow, an elevator that doesn’t work and a holiday inn level of service. I made my complaints clear to the hotel staff via email as soon as I check in to my room and NOTHING was done to make my stay better. I was expecting a much better experience due to all the positive reviews. This is probably one of the worst 5 star hotels I have ever stayed at. It is my first time in Los Cabos and I just thought this is how it is here…. Until I came to Viceroy for the rest of my trip. Just do yourselves a favor and pick Viceroy from the get go. You will not regret it.

A modern, freshly renovated industrial-themed hotel. I would like to recommend it to young people and couples rather than family travelers. The swimming pool is not kid-friendly, but it is nice enough for adults to enjoy, and the room condition and hardware were also brilliant. A hotel where the interior of the concrete and wood harmonized was very nice. It is difficult to say that the location is very good because it is far from Cabo San Lucas and quite the middle of nowhere for travelers. Only I can tell the nearest thing to check out, Sunset Monalisa restaurant, famous for its sunset view, is within walking distance.

The Cape was an amazing place to experience Cabo San Lucas for the first time! My husband and I brought our two young children with us and we felt very welcomed by the staff. We called ahead to request two cribs and the staff went above and beyond, setting up a baby bath in the tub along with baby soap, etc. The staff was always quick to offer us high chairs or anything we needed when it came to our kids being comfortable. When we were poolside, one of the staff members informed us that we could use a cabana, free of charge because we had kids. I was shocked! They helped us feel welcome and comfortable and I was so appreciative. The food was amazing. Pricey, but great and the views were amazing. Our family was so sad to leave this hotel and the attentive staff. My only concern with the hotel was safety when it came to railings on the upper floors outside the rooms. As a young mom, I'm aware of possible dangers, and toddlers or babies could easily fall through the railings they have placed along the walkways. Overall though, The Cape was an amazing hotel to experience and just made our trip.

We came here for a wedding in July. The safe in our room was not working, it was low on battery. We didn’t think we’d need it at a hotel like this. Unfortunately, I had a few small things stolen from my room. I reported and nothing was done other than fill out paperwork with security. The staff at this hotel does more than service your room, they move and touch your belongings. I mentioned this to the manager several times. I didn’t expect this would happen at a 5-star hotel, but it can happen so I wouldn’t trust this place after this experience. Needless to say I will never be back here. There’s plenty of places with a nice view in Cabo.

Worst experience with the front desk I have ever had. Rude and unhelpful. There was a problem with our booking because of issues with Hyatt. They told us it was not their problem, and made no effort to contact Hyatt. After 2 hours on the phone with Hyatt it was finally resolved. But with no help at all from the front desk. The experience was very unpleasant and did not match the amazing service and welcome we received in other places we stayed on our trip. This is our last stop before heading back home. We thought it would be nice to spend a bit more for the last few nights. Very disappointing. Definitely not worth the high price.

Not an ethical business and very shady - DO NOT STAY HERE - we spent 5 nights here. Although we loved the hotel, we had a $2500 charge placed on our card in addition to hotel nightly rate for just being “guests”. When we talked to front desk, they couldn’t help explain why. They also said very clearly at check in breakfast was included in our rate, however at checkout they didn’t honor that and resulted in significant additional charges. This hotel will straight up rob you and there’s little you can do to remedy it.

This is hard to write because I wanted to love this place. It is less than 2 hours from home and could have been our getaway spot. But the service and rooms were so bad I can't will myself to gloss over it. First and foremost, upon our arrival, our shower smelled like vomit. We called the front desk, and someone came to clean it, but it just changed to a floral vomit smell. We called again. Still nothing. We refused to let this ruin or consume our time, so we continued to enjoy ourselves outside of the room. The location is amazing, and views are stunning. The restaurant staff and food (Leonel at Manta and Jesus at The Ledge were great) were wonderful. But there was no sense of customer service from housekeeping or the front desk. As a Hyatt Globalist, I expected more (especially after 90+ stays at Hyatt properties this year) but was thoroughly disappointed. Slow (and I mean glacial service) at the pool, breakfast had so many errors in our orders, and felt like a "second class" guest because I booked on points. They obviously cater to events/weddings, and the other straggler guests were left wanting. And to add insult to injury, they accused us of eating gummie bears from the mini bar, which we didn't eat. I said we didn't eat them and was then asked two more times and by another staff member. Honestly, it would be funny if it didn't further mar a less than stellar stay. So so disappointing.

The hotel has stunning views. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The service was a little hit and miss. The guys at the pool were doing everything above and beyond. The front desk people both in-person and via text were rather unwelcoming. Hyatt Place was much friendlier than this place. I've read before that this hotel is known for disliking people with Hyatt globalist status, so maybe it was that. I didn't demand or even asked for any upgrades or any special treatment so I don't know why it was. Overall, if you can overlook service issues, it's a very nice hotel.

Holy smokes do not sleep on the Cape Toast (French toast)! Probably the best I've ever had. The chilaquilles were also quite excellent. Really attentive staff (Julio our bartender was super friendly and helpful) and fabulous ambience when we ate up at the bar. FYI, you need a reservation at the restaurant or bar in order to get past the front gate.

Easily 5 stars. Rooms are large and have great furniture and amenities. Great view from the room of the entire bay. Our room with plunge pool was fantastic. The only issue is that the shower should be private and not in the middle of th le room. The breakfast is great. July, our server remembered everything we wanted daily. The food was yummy. The pool is gorgeous with great bar and music. And a hot tub. Nice gym, too. The rooftop bar is great, and there is also a bar in the open lobby with a pool table. I wish AC wasn't as loud. But great experience and we'll come back.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. They compare countless booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This place is one of the highest rated in this area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure won't be let down. We had a wonderful stay here last week, the food was delicious and drinks were also great! We ate breakfast at the ledge every morning and it was always good, they had many different options. Our room was clean and we had no issues with the staff. Definitely recommend, however if there is a possibility of a storm coming through i would suggest an all inclusive as there wasn’t much to do but go to the spa and lounge around.

This is by far the best hotel in all of Cabo in terms of service, food, and atmosphere. The hotel goes out of its way to know each one of the guests and deliver the most exquisite of experiences. From the morning and night clean up service (they even organize all of your charging cables), to the fitness classes, spa services, drinks, and food, everything is top notch. I got married at the hotel and the staff (led by Monica Sainz) did an impeccable job. The food was perfection and the service during the event was coordinated so well that people commented on it for days. It felt like they were all doing a dance making sure that everything came out at the same time. Luis was one of the staff members who constantly made sure I was taken care of by getting me a new fresh drink continuously throughout the night. He was incredible! It by far exceeded all of my expectations that it felt like a dream. Do not underestimate the hotel spa. I got a blowout service and my hair was absolute perfection. I actually liked the style and look more than my wedding hair! Do not hesitate when booking anything at the hotel. You will not regret it! Thank you Monica and staff for giving me the wedding and stay of my dreams! My husband and I are looking forward to celebrating each of our anniversaries here.

Went at The Cape for a wedding. We booked the penthouse and it was amazing. We enjoyed the rooftop every night. It was our after party spot. The service was on point. Beautiful views of The Arch. Great sunsets. The food and drinks was excellent. A must try the Fish Tacos at the Sunken Bar. The staff are very friendly. Especially at breakfast. They remember what we normally ordered. The best food I had there was at Menta. The staff at the pool was great. There is a live DJ there from 12 noon daily.

This was a last minute quick getaway before the holidays and starting a new job. We stayed here for 4 wonderful days and to date it’s been the best vacation we’ve been on in the last couple of years. Which says a lot because we’ve been on some amazing trips. The Cape hit all the notes - Food, Asthetics, Staff, Cocktails, etc. Food - everything we had to eat was amazing, from breakfast to dessert (which we were too full to have much of unfortunately). The food, atmosphere and views at Manta were unbeatable. The ledge served amazing Mexican breakfast dishes and I highly recommend getting the mimosa bar. Everything is served with a beautiful view of the Arch and the peaceful sound of waves. My favorite things were the Korean Fried Chicken at Manta and the Steak Chilaquiles at The Ledge. Apparently I just needed to come to Mexico to find chilaquiles I liked. Staff - All of the staff at the Cape, from the pool to the concierge and the restaurants were the friendliest of any resort I’ve stayed at. They referred to us by name and genuinely seemed to enjoy their jobs and the guests. They seemed to anticipate your every need and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Hotel/Rooms - the hotel itself is very aesthetically pleasing. Modern minimalist which is definitely our style. It’s situated in a way that every restaurant, room, rooftop, pool and spa have wonderful views of the Arch and ocean views. A relaxing and delightful pre holiday vacation (or anytime of the year) and we can’t wait to come back. Now my favorite place at any resort - the Spa. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pictures while there or get to take as much advantage of it as I’d wished but the currents massage service I did have was in my top 5 massages. The spa itself also had a hot tub, plunge pool, steam room snd sauna you could take advantage of. My technician was very conscientious of my comfort level throughout the service and I emerged from my massage feeling well rested and relaxed. Overall, while we try to experience different places and resorts on vacations, I definitely could see us returning to The Cape Los Cabos again and again.

My husband and I got married at the Cape in November and we have nothing but amazing things to say about our experience. It truly was a 12/10 experience. Everything was over the top. Eduardo was the most incredible concierge who made sure our stay was perfect and checked in on us every day. No request was too small and he made all our guests comfortable. Monica is a terrific events coordinator and I trusted her with the entire process. She is a class act! The food, venue, rooms, views, amenities, and cocktails were all spectacular. I highly recommend the Cape hotel and if you’re thinking about getting married there, do it!!! You won’t regret it. We will absolutely be going back!

We stayed 7 days to celebrate our honeymoon. We ate at all of the restaurants. We loved everyone at the Ledge! Caesar at the Manta was fantastic and made our dining experience! Service all around was great from housekeeping to the front desk. The views are amazing and we enjoyed the pool almost every day! We did excursions through Cabo Adventures and enjoyed those as well. We can’t wait to come back! Thank you!

Not sure where to begin so I’ll start by saying you need to stay at The Cape if you’re visiting Cabo. I’m writing this from the taxi to the airport because our stay was that refreshing. I’ve stayed at a handful of other 5 star hotels and The Cape knocked it out of the park. The infinity pool was incredible, the room and view was perfect, the food was delicious, but the staff is what really sets this place apart from the pack. They know exactly what you need, when you need it. Breakfast at the Ledge was fantastic every morning. Drinks to try - The Cape, the young, smoking watermelon Manta - sashimi was the best I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth…. compliments to the chef. The pool bar - try the fish tacos and chicken tacos for lunch at the pool. We ordered them two days in row. We stayed for 4 days/ 5 nights and wish we had a month. We’ll definitely be coming back. Thanks to all of the staff who made it an unforgettable birthday vacation. Special shout out to the pool concierge, Jaime, Hugo, Bernie, and Jorge / Carlos! Ten out of ten

For more insights, follow me on Twitter @NickSkuteris We stayed at The Cape back in June of 2021. The communication from Thompson staff was very consistent, even before we arrived in Mexico. Their concierge booked us a private vehicle to provide service to and from the airport. The outdoor arrival and check-in station felt very tropical. The entire lobby and main amenity area is open to the outdoors, so you can hear the waves crash during check-in. The other nice thing about this property is that all hotel guestrooms have waterfront views with a balcony. We were lucky enough to receive a suite upgrade, which provided some extra room for lounging. You could tell the rooms were aging, however the construction quality was good and the interior design was done very well. I believe that the interior design firm was hired out of Guadalajara, so you could certainly feel the local flavor (this firm also did interior design for Thompson San Antonio). In my opinion, the best thing about this property was the infinity pool with swim up bar. We didn't have a chance to try out the spa, which is next to the pool, but we didn't feel the need to do so. We lounged at the pool everyday all day, even booking the cabana a few times. The fresh ceviche is something I would order every time. The other highlight of the property was the rooftop bar, which we enjoyed live music from during a sunset and champagne toast. Not sure if they do this every weekend night, but that sunset will be hard to beat. Overall, this was an A+ experience. This was my second time in Cabo and I would love to come back and stay at this property again. They also have a renowned restaurant on property (Manta) which is worth the reservation if you can get it.

Beautiful hotel. Simple yet really fantastic. Loved our room with the big terrace & swing lounge daybed. Food was great with lots of options for vegans, vegetarians & all sorts of needs. Great service all around. All we got as answers were always yes to everything. Very happy with our stay. Will be coming back for sure

The best experience! Staff was very genuinely kind and attentive. The pools were great for lounging and one day they even had a dj. I loved having the shore so close. From our room, we could hear the waves crashing and it was very relaxing. And walking by the shore was beautiful too. It’s a great location. We had a lot of their food and drink options and enjoyed it all very much. The prices are high but so is the quality of their services, food, drink, and rooms.

Truly a 5 star hotel. The location, the views, the staff, the rooms, etc were all amazing. I attended my friend’s sunset wedding here and just couldn’t believe how beautiful and well done everything was. The villas, suites, and rooms were gorgeous. Not really somewhere you’d want to share a room with someone you’re not intimate with. The shower and tub are exposed to the entire room (regular room, not villa or suite).

We traveled to The Cape the first week of November with several of our friends. Stayed in the 3 bedroom penthouse villa, room 650. As first time visitors, it was absolutely unbelievable! Rocio, our concierge was amazing! The accommodations were top notch! Staff was extremely attentive and made sure every accommodation was over the top! So much so that the Manager actually did a private tequila/wine tasting for our group! The pool and bar didn’t disappoint! Service was quick and friendly. The Cabanas were a highlight! We had breakfast daily, unbelievable! Dinner at Manta won’t disappoint…and when you are done make sure to hit the rooftop! If you are looking for the BEST spot in Cabo…the Cape is it!

This place is so beautiful. If you don’t mind being around people, because again this place is so beautiful with amazing costume service. A dream for those who love a VIP experience and not so much for a very introvert person like myself and my husband. Yet, I can appreciate the quality service and the rare beauty that this hotel has to offer 10/10 if you ask me.
