My father and I, converged from Dayton, Ohio and Indiana, Pennsylvania via motorcycle to visit this place. Google stated that it was open until 5 PM. Being a Saturday, we figured we'd have no issue. After arriving to our destination of Cadiz, Ohio, we were welcomed with a sign on the door that stated only open by special request and a number was provided. It was a major disappointment on a day that we were very much looking forward to. If this is the case, this information should be posted on Google so people can plan accordingly. Because frankly, we give a damn.

This is the upper floor of a double where Gable lived for the first 9 months of his life. Not many items are actually from Gable, most are items that would have been from that time. His actual car is there & in amazing condition. The only problem is, it is in a garage and hard to see. But it is all lovingly cared for. Also be aware, you must be able to walk up stairs in order to see the museum.

Had a lovely one on one guided tour of the museum. The only thing I knew of Clark Gable was the movie star side of him but my guide told me lots of interesting stories about who he was as a person especially during his younger years in Ohio. The gift shop and restrooms are on the first floor and the museum is on the second floor which you enter from stairs at the back of the house. There are a few personal belongings of Clark's as well as lots of movie memorabilia mostly focusing on gone with the wind. No pictures are allowed inside the museum or of his Cadillac in the garage. Admission is $5.75 for adults and the hours vary during different times of the year. They are closed during the winter. If you are a Clark Gable fan or classic movie fan it is worth the trip to see.

It was interesting -the guide was very knowledgeable.. I did not know Gable was in so many movies. There are stairs up to the museum as it is in the second story of the house.

My son and I drove all the way from New Jersey pick up a puppy that he had purchased and while we were driving I saw the signs for Cadiz Ohio and I thought I know that place, and then it hit me, it was the birthplace of my all-time favorite actor and my first heartthrob! When I told my son he said yes we are going to go right through it on the way to get the puppy! Well if I wasn't seatbelted in I probably would have flipped out of the car I was ecstatic with excitement! I have always wanted to go there because like I said I am in love with Clark Gable, I have been since I was 7 years old, I am now 55 and my heart still flutters like a teenage girl every time I watch one of his movies! The sad thing is the place was closed when we got there it was like 5 minutes after 4:00 on a Saturday, but just being on the front step and walking around the house outside really made me happy and my son was glad that he was part of it! My son named the puppy Emerson and I gave him the middle name of Clark so his full name is Emerson Clark!
