This is our first time trying out their Calamba branch. We normally eat at Sta. Rosa at Lipa outlets. They have to improve their services and learn from other branches. I hope to see improvements on our next visit. Food 👌❤️👍 Limited parking

Excellent service with good food. Albeit the food is a bit on the pricey side. They give wet towels for you to clean your hands, as well as a free salad.

One of the best Japanese restaurant i've tried by far. Food selections & presentations are excellent. The taste is so good which can be compared to authentic japanese cuisine if you experienced dining in Japan. Staff are very friendly & attentive. The place itself is very clean & serene. Prices varies from middle to high. This place is highly recommended. Can't wait to visit again soon.

Ipponyari Calamba refers to a historical event in the Philippines known as the "Ipponyari Riot" or "Calamba Riot." It took place in Calamba, a city in the province of Laguna, in the late 19th century during the Spanish colonial period. Calamba is notable for being the hometown of the Philippine national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. Rizal's family owned a vast estate in Calamba called the Hacienda de Calamba, which consisted of various agricultural lands and a sugar mill. The estate employed many local farmers and tenants who worked under unfavorable conditions. The Ipponyari Riot occurred on January 20, 1890, when the tenants of Hacienda de Calamba protested against the unjust treatment and abuses they experienced under the management of the Rizal family. The term "Ipponyari" referred to the practice of forcing the tenants to buy rice from the estate's store at inflated prices, leaving them in debt and unable to improve their living conditions. The riot was sparked by the arrest of a tenant who was accused of stealing rice from the estate. The other tenants, feeling outraged and oppressed, rose up in protest. They attacked the estate's rice mill, destroyed some property, and demanded fair treatment and better working conditions. The Spanish authorities intervened and suppressed the riot, leading to arrests and imprisonment. Dr. Jose Rizal's mother and sisters were also among those detained. This event further fueled Rizal's nationalist sentiments and his advocacy for social reforms in the Philippines. The Ipponyari Riot in Calamba highlighted the oppressive conditions faced by the Filipino peasants during the Spanish colonial period. It served as an important catalyst for the Philippine Revolution against Spain, which eventually led to the country's independence. The event also played a significant role in shaping Rizal's views on social justice and national identity.

Food was great and affordable. The place, too, was nice with its Japan-themed tables and chairs. There are also Tatami tables which can be availed when reserved. Don't forget to reserve so you can experience the rooms with Tatami tables. However, one thing I don't like about the restaurant is that serving comes in staggered. Maybe, because the place was full of new servers this pandemic? We ate here just this weekend of 2022. Anyway, don't forget to try their mochi ice cream! It's the best.

Gyoza is 4/5 but BOTH RAMEN so SALTY!!!! Can't even imagine how much salt they put in there. I needed cola after this, feels like the salt is all over my mouth as if we drank a glass of saltwater 😩 Been to Japan 5x but Ippon Yari's ramen is incomparable to any ramen we have tasted. So disappointing.

Great food, great service, reasonable price. Just dont go during non peak hours when there are less waiters, around 2 to 5 pm. Also, the food is better when freshly cooked so i advice not to take out or deliver the food.

Just had a visit for the first time and the place was really packed. Maybe because it was lunch time. We enjoyed the food specially the noodle with big servings. Taste great and the price is just right! 😉👍

Enjoyed everything we ordered except for the nigiri which was not that fresh. I recommend the grilled salmon head, unagi and assorted Yakitori! The service was quick.

Passed by here going to batangas. During lunch the place is almost packed. Upon sitting they will give you wet towel for hand cleaning. Also a cold tea. The order is quick i heard them following up through the waiter's radio. The Chirashi I ordered is well prepared for 470ph at the time of writing it is well priced for the varieties of sashimi in the bowl. The parking is ok enough for motorcycles and 4 wheels. Hopefully will passed by here again and try them again.
