Beautiful place right on the beach, lots of greenery, tasty food and great service. The 1 star is because the prices are through the roof. Twice or even thrice the price of a 5 star hotel and definitely not worth it. Plus they mandate each person spends a minimum of 1500Rs. Not the best idea. Would suggest having a look at the menu before going.

Overhyped, overpriced. Decent place but not worth the super expensive menu. The shacks on the beach right outside are better. [Edit post the owners reply] You need to calm down with the arrogance. There is nothing spectacular about the place, maybe you need to travel a bit to see what's on offer elsewhere. I paid 6000 to you guys without an issue. The opinion still stands that it is not value for money, as simple as that. Clearly you have an issue with anyone who gives a bad review. That itself should be a red flag for anyone visiting. Note to other potential visitors: while we were there, a family came and left because they felt the place was not worth the prices. On seeing this, the manager got chatty with us and said this, " These cheap people must be vegetarians" , so please decide for yourself.

The place definitely had a vibe! Even in the afternoon there was a pleasant breeze probably because of it being so close to the beach. The food was great! The serving size could have been more looking at the cost of the dishes. The minimum bill amount was 1000 per person which you'll end up spending anyway. The entrance has a little walking but once you enter the place you'll love it! Overall a great idea to visit!

Really loved the restaurant and the food. The ambience was awesome as well. Mr Neville greeted us and made special seating arrangements for my infant daughter. The prawn, fish in banana leaf, cold coffee and the cocktail were really good. Definitely recommended.

The food, from beverages to desserts, is undoubtedly good. But you start to wonder whether it needs to be so heavily priced, especially after you have equally good food from other well-rated restaurants in Goa. But this is an informed choice we, as customers, make and the price, by itself, wouldn't have made us question our choice of dining experience, had it not been for the pretentious attitude of their waiter. We reached Pousada at 6:45 pm for dinner. This waiter told us the minimum order for two is 2000, and the last order is at 7:30. Understandable, the first time. But he kept heckling us with this second bit of information, at least three or four times within the next ten minutes. This despite us confirming all our orders (except that of one cocktail and dessert) by then! There was also a marked snootiness in the way he took our orders. Perhaps because we talked to him without putting on any airs, or wore non-fancy clothes? Who knows. The owner seemed nice enough though. The ambience was good (no music, a welcome change). A pity this waiter had to ruin our experience.

Highly recommend: it's a great place to go and eat out; beach front restaurant, with a perfect location that is set back just far enough to avoid noise from the road and beach. Food standards were fantastic: we had a big group that had a mixture of meat, vegetarian, and vegan, all were catered for and explained every meal was lush. It was a birthday celebration for twins, allowed us to bring a cake and do the whole candles and decorations for us.

Had been waiting to try this for a while and was extremely disappointed. The bad: We ordered battered calamari and crusted shrimp, a caprioska and couple of beers. We were really hungry as it was late afternoon around 3.30pm and so even though the food tasted bland we completed it as we did not want to wait to find another place. The calamari was tasteless even even with the dip and was no where close to crunchy, the crusted prawns had way too much crust and tasted rubbery my jaws were tired after having it, the cocktail tasted bitter as they did not even know not to put the lemon seeds in and it’s a long glass without straw, when I asked for a straw the person just said we don’t provide straws - fist time I ever came across any restaurant that serves cocktails without straws. If you want to be eco-friendly you give paper straws! The good: Very good location with nice views and ambience. Service was fast and the restaurant maintained pretty good hygiene overall. But when you pay so much you expect decent tasting food and cocktails.

Overhyped place for sure. You have a long walk to reach the place from where you get down. Very average food and atmosphere. Though it’s on the beach, there’s no sea view at all. Food is mighty expensive. Nothing I can say was excellent. Fish n chips was average, the Xacuti was extra spicy.

Pousada is a restaurant located on Calangute beach. It has a nice selection of cocktails and food. It can be a great place to cool off with some drinks, after a day of running around on the beach. We got the butter garlic prawns with a side of salad and rice. It was delightful, especially paired with our drinks - Baileys on crushed ice & Daiquiri. I really wish this place stayed open till after 7:30 PM. Would’ve given All 5 stars if that were the case. Either way, would highly recommend and will definitely visit again!

Love this place and the vibe and the food! The hosts are cordial and warm and will help you select your food and drinks. I had shrimps and watermelon margarita, it was so delicious and filling. Thank you team Pousada by the Beach for making our lunch a wonderful experience. We will definitely come back. Keep up the awesome vibe and work! 😊

What a pretty place to watch the sunset peacefully with good food! If you are looking to spend time away from the noise, near the beach and palm trees and still don't want to go much far then this is the place to be. They serve authentic Goan meals and the service is amazing. The staff is so friendly, sweet and welcoming. Overall a great experience

Not sure why there are any bad reviews at all of this place! My wife, 1 y.o daughter and I loved this place - The Location 5/5, The food 4.95/5, The Cocktails 5/5, Hospitality 5/5. The only thing I'd rate lower than 4 is ease of finding a place to park during busy evenings. The Host, Neville & his sons run the place & are very friendly & hospitable. Yes, there is a Cover Charge of 1000 per head and I honestly don't see any reason of it being a problem for someone that appreciates quality of food, the crowd & location! (Sunsets for all you instagrammers) We loved this place when we visited on our 5th Anniversary and even went back the following day! Amazing Concept! Will recommend to anyone looking for a nice chill restaurant at a real good location with great service! PS - they have 4 well behaved friendly dogs here which makes it even better! Now go visit!

It was my birthday so my wife wanted to be here, as she has read a lot about celebrities like Priyanka Chopra, Karthik Aryan and many more visiting Pousada by the Beach. My parents accompanied me so was a bit hesitant but once we reached there it was bliss. We went during lunchtime it was all empty when we reached there. The host was great and gave us great suggestions about the menu. The ambiance is great just like its described open-air restaurant with a seafood-centric menu. My daughter loved the space and the food too. What we ordered and recommend Caldin: Fish fillet cooked in delicious turmeric & coriander infused coconut milk curry served with Steam Rice. Nusteachi Kodi: Prawns cooked in orange traditional coconut milk curry Herb-Grilled Chicken: Pan Grilled Chicken breast served with flavoured rice and salad For Veg the owner himself suggested a dish I don’t remember the name but it was delicious. Would recommend all of the above if you are a foodie. Location :To reach this place you have walk through a alley. Take a turn opposite to decathlon at candolim. On the road to Vacancies Nordus Boutique Resort. Note: They have a minimum charge of Rs.1000 per person which is covered in food and beverages in bill. Last but not least loved Biscuits and chai the most, it’s their pet dogs.

Beautiful restaurant with a very nice setting Food was so well plated. On the more expensive side but you would know that already if you looked at the Google listing. Treat yourself.Attentive hosts who added an additional table so that we had extra room. The fish xacuti, seafood rice, and banana leaf fish were amazing. Great place for insta pics.

Amazing hosts Neville and his son Zoran. Restaurant is scenic and beautiful. Sunset view from there beachfront was really enjoyed by us. Their curated menu was perfect and worth it, Zoran personally took orders from the guests. The 3 Furr companions were icing on cake for pet lovers. Staff hospitality was warm and service was quick. Surely visiting them again whenever we go next. Thanks Neville, Zoran and team.

A very pretty restaurant by the beach. Lots of bougenvilla flowers near and around the entrance. Flavourful food. My family ate a mix of veg and non veg dishes- which they enjoyed. I got the owner’s recommendation on vegan dishes for myself. He also kindly accommodated my request to make my dishes without onion garlic. My vegan dishes were tasty too. The owner’s dogs were all quite cute too and had cute names like Chai, Biscuit 😊😊a nice afternoon spent!

The food, the ambience, the service everything was wonderful here. Would definitely recommend reserving the place before going. The food quantity is decent. The staff is very accommodating if you have a specific request regarding your food. The vegetable Xacutti is definitely must have. Also they have a minimum charge of Rs.1000 per person.

A fabulous place that's been around for a little over a decade but one I only recently discovered! A few quick points from my experience: -Getting there: easy with Google Maps..I recommend parking closer to the main road and taking a short stroll to the restaurant. The view is worth it! -Reservation: better to make a reservation in advance as you can place your order beforehand..this is great as they can arrange to get fresh catch and produce. However, you can ways order sides and mains according to the available stock without prior booking -what I ate and drank: we got fresh pressed watermelon and pineapple juice, fresh as can be and great pairings with Konkan Chicken, Fish Caldin + steamed rice + poie (local Goan wheat bran bread), Fish in banana leaf. The fish was fresh and very tasty, which this picky Goan whole heartedly approves of. It's served with rice and a moong veggie chaat salad with pops of pomegranate. The Caldin is a mild creamy green curry with fat cubes of firm fish, excellent on rice and soaked up well with poie. The fish in banana leaf is truly one of their standout dishes and pairs well with the accompanying bell pepper rice. All this food was more than enough for two of us with moderate appetites. We nearly skipped dessert but were kindly provided with the indulgent in house Serradura, which is a must try. -pricing: to put it bluntly this is upmarket pricing. It's upto the diner to decide whether it's worth it or not. Their cover charge policy has received a lot of flak on Zomato etc. However I personally had no issues with it as I appreciate their initiative to provide a no wastage-fresh produce approach and personalised attention to diners. I also appreciate the safe dining space devoid of rowdy tourists which is a rarity in such a prime location. -last but the best bit: I got to meet Ms Chai, the majestic, rotund lab and in true celebrity style she made sure we were well settled and snuggled up for some pets! Mr Biscuit was recuperating and I hope to see him the next time I go there! -try the peri peri prawns, grilled lobster..have heard great things about these from friends

Went there on a Saturday afternoon for lunch ! There is no direct way to reach there and involves a bit of walking behind some shops and through the green lands. Its such a peaceful place ! By the beach, windy and lots of greens around.. The highlight was of course the food - we loved every dish we were served. Yes - its on the pricier side of things but if the good taste and variety makes up for it !! We tried a multitude of options in appetisers, mains and desert. Everything from shrimp crostini, fried calamari, to veg and chicken xacuti, pork vindaloo tasted amazing ! Vindaloo here is a little to string with cinnamon - so its a hit or miss with food lovers. The soup was served in a tall cup- first for me but was brimming hot and full of flavours. Secondly, the fish & chips were really fresh (King fish) - really filling and perfectly golden brown dish. The highlight for us was the desert- Serradora, Chocolate gelato and Paan flavoured ice cream. The betel flavoured ice cream also had Magic pops topping - the one that pops on your tongue. The host Nevil is a charmer, very friendly and engages with all the guests. This place also has a (sort of) private entry to the Candolim beach. This side of Candolim beach is devoid of crowd so you can bask in the salty water and be peaceful by the beach.

An absolute must if you are in Goa. Food was beautifully made and the lobster did not disappoint at all. Moreover, the warm welcome and the sophistication of the owners and staff won us over. Will visit every time I come to Goa. My father does not enjoy most places buy absolutely loved his time at Pousada. A 100% recommend.

A fabulous beach-front restaurant on the Calangute beach with a nice beach view. Good ambience. Courteous staff. Liked the food, its different taste, though a bit spicy. Loved the stir fry, aglio e olio, vindaloo (super spicy). Coconut pancake was very tasty. Price is on the expensive side. Loved their pet dogs, Biscuit and Chai.

This place never fails to disappoint in terms of its lovely ambience, cocktails, food and dessert. Not an easy combination but if you want to enjoy a lovely afternoon by the beach with family and friends, Pousada would be an excellent choice. Unfortunately, they do not take reservations - so you have to take a chance and also not look for 'best' value as there is a cover charge.

Great food and ambience. Being on the beach, They do the smartest thing of charging a cover to guests who was to have a meal. This way there is crowd control. No doubt the food is top but (and I do not say this lightly), the Bloody Mary is the best in India. Ask them to make it spicy and it gets even better, if that was possible. The place is run by a fit dad and his sons who make it so welcoming by striking conversation on work outs, food and life in Goa.

beautiful place , warm and cosy ! we ordered food both veg and non-veg but i am a vegetarian , don’t eat mushroom. but my food was ordered by my group and i did say i will remove the mushroom and eat the curry but Neville, who without saying anything made sure i got my curry without mushroom. this to me made my day and not many understand what customer moments of truth is !! this was definitely mine. i would recommend this place to all who would love to experience the amazing place with beautiful paw gang as well. Just on the beach and definitely die for!! go and enjoy the place.

The location is amazing, very surreal n scenic, atmosphere was very calming, washroom was clean . The food was delicious n the salad was scrumptious ( I got an extra helping of the same ). I visited this place with my husband n children. It's a family friendly place as well I would have given more stars but the servers kept on interrupting way too many times . They wanted us to leave quickly, we didn't even finish out drinks n food was served without our permission. Server started cleaning the table when we were still eating our food, this led to us not getting a chance to enjoy the atmosphere fully ( not that the restaurant was fully occupied, it was only us at that time ). Pousada is not a cheap restaurant to dine at, so for the money that I paid the experience was not that great I would not visit the place again.

Value for money- 3 ..Very very expensive - around 3000 per person w/out starter. Ambience - 5 Staff - 5 Food presentation - 5 Hygiene - 5 Food taste - 3.5 ...salad was 5, rice portion 2, hero of the dish - 3 (prawns and pork were over cooked), masala balancing needs attention ... pork was dry and prawns masala was not balanced We went with very high expectations but the food taste disappointed us at the price point.. so if you price a dish 2.5 times more than market price you better delivery nothing less than WOW taste.
