Really enjoyed my experience at La Luna. Great food and drinks. Lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Highly recommend if you want to feel spoilt.

Quite a nice setting with the covered terrace area. Extensive menu and food looks great. Sadly received the wrong drinks, didn't want to make a fuss to accepted them and said not to worry. 5 mins later we were rudely told off by the waitress how we had messed up her system etc... Put a sourness on the rest of the night and even the table next to us were stunned at how we were spoken to. Starter was nice and different (see picture), but the mains were nothing special and for the price were a little disappointed. To cap it off you get the service charge automatically added as still trying to be nice we stupidly paid it. To sum it up it was not awful but our experience was not great and we won't be going back.

My overall feeling is this place is just OK. Don't think the food there is worth the money, to be honest. I ordered a squid starter (special menu) for around 14 pounds, but it came with only two small pieces of squid and was very chewy. Kind of a failure for a chef to overcook the squid. Nothing too special in that stir and fry fajita dish. It tastes more like a Chinese dish than Mexican. The restaurant is well designed and nicely decorated, but when it comes to the evening, it's too crowded to enjoy the atmosphere. Could set the price lower for what it provides.

It's definitely a good place, with great food and service! We went back the next day for breakfast because it was so delicious. It would be nice if the staff provided customers with their choice of seating. We wanted to sit in a corner and enjoy our food, but we had to ask one male staff twice for it.

Tasty but nothing special. Just Italian fusion menu. Nice vibe. Green walls awesome. Very nice and helpful staff. Drinks great. Escalopes, pizza ok. Chicken kebab not recommended. Aubergine and spinach lasagna ok. Great potential but nothing special. Very nice time spent in the restaurant. Worth to visit. You will find something for yourself for sure.

On a brief first visit to Halifax I asked 5 different people at different times where to go for dinner. 5 answers came back all with La Luna first. And so that is where we went and discovered this great Italian style restaurant. You can dine inside or out. The walls inside are living walls. Service is unhurried and the Chicken Supreme absolutely divine. The Lemon Meringue pie way very lemony with soft not crumbly meringue. As for the vanilla ice cream that came with it I can only say, smooth, silky and moreish. Guess where I will be going to on any return to the area? Booking seems like a good idea to avoid disappointment.

Great atmosphere, food and service was excellent.

The food here is always good, the atmosphere and service is impeccable and the location is also lovely. I've only rated the food 4 stars as my steak wasn't the best and I'd recently had a better one at Mezze in Brighouse. Edit: I got a really good salt aged rib eye recently so my review is changing for 5 stars everything! (See newest photos)

Tasty starter menu and mains ranging from pizza to fillet steak. Plenty of seating. Upmarket restaurant, fairly expensive but tasty.

Definitely add this to your go to list if you’re an Italian fan! Their food is absolutely astonishing! I totally recommend the Mushroom Carbonara and Salt & pepper squid! The presentation are outstanding! Must go place! Coming back!

FABULOUS AS ALWAYS! Our fave place to eat in halifax by a clear mile. The food is faultless portions are huge and value for money the ambiance and decor of the venue is top tier also. I cannot fault it here at all. Genuinely love the place

We were charged "optional service charge" without been asked if we agreed with it. Is this the way La Luna works? Better to avoid and never come back again. When things are options, they shouldn't be added without asking for it.

This place never fails. I always have a fantastic meal, if it's breakfast, lunch or tea. Frequently go back.

Clean an welcoming with a warm cosy glow. Staff very polite and quick service. Excellent presentation, well impressed 👏 back for more. When get coffee ☕ or tea 🍵 get a little pastrie on side well impressed. Didn't have desert on this occasion, but will be back for more.

Beautiful place to dine. Went for Valentines day and ot was perfect. Starters were the scallops and duck rolls. Everything was delicious Mains were the Fillet of Beef with lobster tail. Both cooked to perfection 👌 Desserts were the lemon meringue and profiteroles a perfect end to a perfect meal. Worth the price and the portions were a great size. We were satisfied and stuffed!

There will never be enough stars to award La Luna! Long time customer - my family have been coming here since they were a small one-unit cafe. Now at least a three unit with upstairs AND covered outdoor seating, La Luna has definitely put themselves on the Halifax map. Locals will have eaten here at least once in their life, and visitors should make it a priority to splurge a bit and eat here. The food is absolutely amazing (don’t let a price tag scare you!). Tonight we had Gambas Italiano, Scallops, Halloumi Fries, Filet Steak, Lobster Duo, Duck Trio, Lobster and Prawn Tagliatelle, Strawberry Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue, and Tiramisu. Everything is homemade in the restaurant, cooked to perfection, the quality is out of this world, and the portions are astoundingly big. Some are turned off by the automatic Service Charge on the bill, but you can request to remove this (though personally I couldn’t, the staff are polite, lovely, funny, and very fast). I’m going to stop here as I don’t think I could give La Luna the praise it deserves! Overall a must-try for any visitor or tourist coming to see Halifax’s many beautiful sites (conveniently close to the famous Piece Hall and Square Chapel!). Thank you once again xo

It is a very nice place to have a nice meal at. I really loved the ambiance and the service was good too! The food was very good, however, a bit on the expensive side. But it was expected. I really loved it and overall a very nice place to treat yourself at!

Meatballs and spaghetti are amazing! Lovely rich flavour. Service is okay, nothing wrong with it just nothing special. The interior design is lovely. Been here 5 times now and would go back :)

The food here is always tasty and fresh! I would recommend the meatballs or the steak sandwich. Reasonably priced and the place has eye-catching decor. The only critique I'd make is that the waiter sat us next to a red-hot radiator and departed before we could say anything. So we moved tables ourselves.
