We had our wedding at Holdsworth House and they did a spectacular job. Franck made us feel so welcome and looked after at our tasting. Amanda did a fantastic job organising the event and made sure everything ran smoothly on the day. She was a star! We had an amazing day and guests kept telling us how beautiful the place was. Would highly recommend!

We went for a gifted afternoon tea. Very friendly staff, welcoming and helpful - even when quite busy and perhaps short staffed. Afternoon tea was perhaps a 6.5/10, sandwiches were satisfactory. The scones were the best part, along with our own pots of tea. We didn't really like any of the desserts, but others might like them! Still giving full marks as the staff, even the chap sorting the gardens, were friendly, polite and helpful. It was also nice to see Eric the cat!

From our first meeting in July 2022 with Amanda to the day of our wedding on 30th August 2023 nothing was too much trouble for the staff of this fabulous hotel. The wonderful Tracy took over the day along with myself and my husband (which was much needed) We had a small wedding and choose to have the afternoon tea which everyone said was a great idea. In the evening the staff rolled the carpets back and put music on, which we hadn't planned on doing as there was only a few elderly guests but wow everyone was on there feet. It was a truly magical day/evening, many many thanks to ALL staff that made our day so special. We will certainly be back πŸ’–

Great wedding venue, mind all the up and down steps all over. Very quaint, clean and friendly. Make sure you say hey to Eric the resident cat, he loves a tickle or stroke

I stayed here for 4 nights and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel was absolutely beautiful. I loved the room I stayed in, which was spacious and well-appointed. The restaurant was also excellent, with a delicious menu and a great selection of wines. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing stay.

Absolutely brilliant stay with dinner and breakfast! My sister and I came for our birthday celebrations. The room was stunning, very clean and modern. We had an amazing 3 course dinner. Gardens are beautiful and it was great weather for us to sit and have a drink in the wonderfully landscaped garden. Yorkshire breakfast was great! Will definitely be back again! Thanks for making our weekend!

Lovely place, absolutely beautiful venue and grounds Rooms were nice but nothing special, great beds, but low ceiling (sloping roof) had to open the window so i didn't hit my head. Most of the staff were fantastic, polite, friendly and happy to help, a certain one with a little authority did not fit the standards set by their underlings. All in all, great place for a wedding party :)

Nice place. A bit over rated due to celebrities visiting. Old world character building of many years ago. Without the show garden, it'd be a standard old listed building. The image of the topiary garden I've taken shows that part to be aesthetically pleasing. Service with a smile and pleasant greeting by receptionists, but not the bar staff. Worth a visit if only to see the place talked about regarding famous dudes staying there by celebrity obsessed people.

We had a magical stay at Holdsworth House. It's truly spectacular! With so much history and charm, and the best in Yorkshire hospitality, we had the loveliest stay. The building itself originating from 1633 is enchanting, steeped in history and atmosphere. Our room was newly renovated but with period features including a beautifully comfy four poster bed. It was luxurious and had all we could have needed. Dinner, breakfast and afternoon tea were all exceptionally delicious and presentation was delightful. Staff were universally friendly and very helpful. For the ultimate restorative getaway, I highly recommend Holdsworth House. We can't wait to go back!

Stunning venue for our wedding. The staff were amazing and really paid attention to detail when decorating the reception just how I asked. The food was delicious and they were very attentive when detailing the plan for the day. Would 100% recommend for anyone wanting a vintage West Yorkshire wedding!!

My wife had booked a room for a surprise family meal for my birthday. The room was well set out, looked great. It was a smaller room, ideal for us. There are other larger rooms and areas, so something for everyone. Food was excellent, staff brilliant and service was very good. My wife and I have been twice before, once to a wedding, and once for a afternoon cream tea. All good memories of Holdsworth House, stunning building, gardens, and full of history. Definitely worth a visit, would recommend without a doubt.

Lovely venue but chaos when two weddings were in following nights. They set up our wedding in a side room, they didn't know it was meant to be in the gardens, they sent us for drinks in someone else's wedding reception the other father of the bride looked well miffed. Messed up the brides room booking, and the grooms room booking separately. We let the groom have our spare room to get changed. amongst many other small errors. Random other guests walking in to have breakfast with my family. Gorgeous venue but not impressed that the hotel manager was showing people around during our family wedding. Don't expect privacy or exclusive access . Having been hundreds of wedding. This was on the edge of chaos. The young staff were really trying their best. !

Came here for a beautiful wedding of our friends and the venue was stunning. The staff were incredible there were these two guys who worked the evening party, an older white man and a younger Asian(?) Male and they were both so happy to be there and accomodating. All of the staff really add to the atmosphere of the whole place!

I had Afternoon tea at the hotel. The staff was friendly but it was so noisy due to the wedding event and the food was not what I expected. The sandwiches were salty and the macaroon's smell and texture were not good but Scone was ok. I was disappointed with the food quality compared to the price. The afternoon tea price is the same as Betty's tea room but the quality is not the same. I do not recommend the afternoon tea in the hotel

Had an afternoon tea party here for my birthday. They were absolutely fantastic. The event planner was really helpful, they just sorted everything out. The room was prepared beautifully, the afternoon tea was delicious and very generous, they covered all dietary requirements. The service was brilliant, they kept our teas and coffees topped up and provided boxes to take away left overs, they didn't rush to get us out. I don't think they could have done better. It was a lovely afternoon. Would highly recommend,

We had our wedding at Holdsworth House a couple of weeks ago and I cannot recommend the venue and team enough! The venue is gorgeous and we had the most amazing intimate ceremony here, the gardens are absolutely beautiful and allowed us to get some stunning photos even in the rain! The service from the team is outstanding and the wedding packages are brilliant and really help to make the planning process much easier. Every aspect of the package from the menu and wine tasting to final details meetings etc., was all brilliant and the team are more than happy to help with any queries you may have. The rooms were fantastic, food delicious with generous portions too. All our guests commented on what a fantastic time they had and how great the venue is. We’ll definitely be back to the hotel and restaurant to celebrate anniversaries etc., in future and have already recommended the venue to other couples planning their weddings. A huge thank you to the team again for helping us to have the best day of our lives so far!!

We got married at Holdsworth House in May and had a wonderful time! Amanda the wedding planner made everything so easy, she was so attentive to our emails and requests and did an amazing job on the day, really looking after us! All the staff we interacted with were so friendly and positive and happy to help. This for us was the perfect place to get married, and we will be visiting again in many anniversaries to come! Thank you so much to all the staff for everything! xxx

Attended a wedding here, the staff were friendly and ensured the whole day ran smoothly. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and the interior is also very nice. I didn't stay so cannot comment on the rooms themselves, but from the rest of the space I assume they are also very nice. The function room had its own bar and toilets so we didn't need to stray far from the evenings activities. Overall, 5 stars!

My family and I went here for afternoon tea. Excellent building set in awesome grounds. You need to see it to believe it. Booking is essential as it gets very busy and at peak times you may have a wait between courses. The tea & food was great and I will be going again.

This is a beautiful period property right out of a history book. We booked private dining as it was a special birthday for one of the party and we were looked after (by Jordan) very well. The food was served in good order and was very nice. I couldn't fault anything. Well done team.

My sister held her wedding here yesterday and I stayed overnight. The reception was fabulous as was the food and service. The twin room I shared with a friend was very comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities and plenty big enough for both of us. Highly recommended

Attended previously for an afternoon tea and was blown away by the beauty of the place. Decided to take advantage of special offer of DB&B and had a lovely time. The professionalism and service was of the highest standard throughout our stay. The evening meal and breakfast were both lovely. The hotel has managed to ensure modern facilities whilst maintaining the 17th century feel. A gem of a place.

Fabulous house and gardens, spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, excellent staff, great breakfast and lovely evening meal. Would highly recommend. We stayed here recently with my partner's parents for a couple of nights to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary and my 60th birthday. We had an amazing time, the staff really looked after us and made us feel at home. We all loved it!

Attended a friend's wedding here a couple of days ago. Absolutely stunning venue steeped in history, if something of a maze in places. Stuffed full of beautiful antique furniture, lamps and other items, but be aware that there are lots of stairs between the different parts of the building which my disabled partner struggled with at times. Food was delicious and the ceremony was lovely - very classy place. We didn't stay overnight so can't comment on the guest rooms, although others did and reported that they were quite warm. Probably typical of this type of building with its low ceilings, thick stone walls and small mullioned windows, but I bet it's lovely and cosy in January or February with the numerous fireplaces lit. Said 'hi' to the house cat (Eric) on a couple of occasions during the evening but in typical cat fashion he wasn't really interested in reciprocating our attention!

Wow! I can see why The Beatles stayed here! What a find - a gorgeous and traditional building with fresh, modern rooms, great food and drink and brilliant service. Don't forget to leave time for a short walk around the pretty grounds and say hello to the resident cat. I have no hesitation in recommending a stay here.

Stayed here for a wedding recently. Was lovely. The service was excellent, the grounds were beautiful and the building itself was charming. Drinks were quite pricey but overall loved it!

Had a lovely one night stay over, the hotels was clean and had a nice relaxing atmosphere. The bed was really comfortable, can't comment on the bar and restaurant as didn't use them but would stay here again .only down fall fire alarm 9.30 Sunday morning but guess these things happen ...

Upon arrival I was greater with the exterior of the hotel/restaurant which was really pleasant. When entering the reception I was greeted with a cat sat on the desk scratching itself. Immediately I felt uncomfortable as I am allergic to cats. We was then guided outside to the garden, which was nice. We had a drink before being seated at our table. Whilst having our meal, the three waitresses were continuously looking at us throughout our meal, which made us all feel uncomfortable. We were going to have a dessert but due to the waitresses watching us throughout our meal, we didn’t chose not to have a dessert and returned back to the garden to finish our drinks. Overall I would rate it a 2 out of 5 due to the overall experience.

Holdsworth house is a magnificent, beautiful old house. I have visited on business many times in the last few years and many years ago nearly got married there. I've always liked the place and absolutely love the gardens in front. The location is not brilliant but they have no control over that and it doesn't harm the overall enjoyment

If we knew there was a large wedding party being held on the same day we would have looked elsewhere for a quite romantic getaway. There is only one bar for both residents and guests which was out of bounds for residents for a large part of our stay. And we were still wide awake at 1am with noise. The gardens are stunning, our room was clean and nicely presented and loved reading the history of the property. The food was in our opinion overpriced and of average standard but the staff were excellent. Unlikely to return.
