Great place. This is my second only visit. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Great atmosphere. Wide variety of drinks available, and the food is amazing. There is no parking space outside but there is close by. Its wheelchair accessible and has disabled rest rooms. All in all id definitely recommend that you visit.

Popped into this lovely pub during my trip to Hebden Bridge, very welcoming and cosy little place. The service was quick and especially the young man who served me was so lovely. I got the steak burger, and the chips were the best I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed my meal, I’d definitely return. Really nice atmosphere and they also play great music. Brill!

Went here for lunch after a 10 mile walk. Lovely old stone building with lots of character. Comfy seats and clean tables. Excellent service from friendly staff. Short menu but with all the favourites on there. Gourmet burger with bacon and cheese was very good. Others with me had the steak pie (proper pie not a dish with a pastry lid) which they declared the best they'd had. Full of lean steak with chunky chips. Good range of local beers. Recommended.

Great place to stay, staff good and on the ball. Bit of a strange rule about the bar closing at 10pm each night. Good central location, close to everywhere in Hebden Bridge. Great breakfast menu but a little restricted on times (8am to 9am) so not so good if you want a lie in.

A delicious five plate tapas for two, mulled wine and an open fire, all made for a charming anniversary lunch. A lovely setting with a fantastic atmosphere, highly recommended

Lovely hotel in a great location. Very dog friendly. Rooms 7,8,9 and 10 are excellent if you have your dog with you. They have direct access to the car park. We ate at the hotel and the food is great. The steak and ale pie is fantastic. The staff are the best part of the experience, really welcoming and friendly. Great place to visit.

We live in hebden but we stayed here the night before my mum's wedding and it was amazing the rooms are massive quality furniture and bedding once we got to sleep (nerves for the big day) we slept really well super comfortable beds , loads of different tea coffee and hot chocolate available breakfast was amazing it was a good size. Nothing was too much to ask for The staff were lovely. I would genuinely hide there for a week and be more than happy Great location in the heart of hebden bridge

To end our weekend in Hebden Bridge, we visited the White Lion for a roast dinner before heading home. The service was slow and when we were shown to our table we didn't get a menu and we were not told how to order, if we needed to go to the bar or if it was table service. We went to the bar to order after waiting 15 mins, to be told to wait until the waitress came around. We ordered and shortly after our food arrived. We both enjoyed our roast dinners, perfect to set us up for the drive home. Would visit again, just hope the service is better next time.

I have eaten at the White Lion twice now, and enjoyed an excellent meal on both occasions. The staff were friendly and attentive, the beer well kept, and the pub itself is a warm and welcoming space. Honestly couldn't find anything to fault in either visit, and I look forward to returning in future.

Went here for a meal with my wife. I had the featherblade beef and my wife had the partridge. I cant praise the food enough it was absolutely gorgeous. The beef melted in the mouth and the partridge (Yes I stole some) was beautiful. Service was fantastic and the pricing was adequate to the food you received. Will return again for some tasty food.

Popped in here after a good walk. Sat out side nice and quiet round in the beer garden (midweek), looks nice inside to have a meal. Sat out side had drink and some chips and got a jug of curry sauce. It was not like chippy curry. I found their home curry to die for. Excellent. Bit pricey for drinks other that spot on

02/10/23: service wasn't great and we waited an hour for food. Drink service not an issue. Ordered food. Waited nearly an hour for a food for 3 people. However, the pie was fantastic! Really enjoyed it! Actually to be fair, despite the service the food was outstanding! Food here is a must. Changed (on reflection) from a 3* to 5*.

Booked room no 10 as we have dogs. Spotlessly clean room. Busy Sunday as the sun was out. Very accomadating finding us a table for dinner. Food was fantastic, best Sunday dinner we have had out. Service of staff were friendly and very efficient. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Best service I've ever received, very attentive at timely intervals. They were great with our nervous dog and the food was fantastic (all 3 courses), really worth the cost. Good assortment of drinks as well.

Nice pub with decent beers on offer. The cheese and onion pie was in my top 10, perfectly balanced and well seasoned.

Absolutely loved our stay at White Lion Pub / Hotel - very central location, excellent food, tasteful interior. The room has been our favourite on our entire Yorkshire trip. The mattress has been the most comfortable I have ever slept on!!

Nice place, can be very busy at weekends. There is room to sit outside on sunny days. A popular place for families, it caters for all ages. It's a traditional Inn that's comfortable and friendly. Craft, as well as usual beers and gins are available. A place that everyone can agree on.

Service was lovely, but the food was very salty. Lovely atmosphere and very child friendly. The rose wine by the bottle was absolutely lovely, I ended up buying more to take to family we were visiting.

Went for some lunch today, just about every table was reserved so we sat in the area reserved for dogs. I got a pint of beer which was sour and clearly off. I took it back and politely said I think it was off but there was no apology and it was like I'd done something wrong. We got a beef sandwich and bread nibbles. The beef was tough but ok, the bread was nice. I've given them 2 stars as the gravy was excellent. The bread nibbles were a joke, I was expecting a plate of artisan bread, but it was two slices of brown bread and some butter and it cost Β£5.50... Won't be returning.

A very busy place on a Saturday so would recommend booking a table in advance. Some areas are more cosy than others (with a fireplace). Food was very good. I had the best veggie burger ever!

We have been twice… the roast was a solid 8/10 and the food off the menu a 6/10… so perfectly fine. The staff are very young and inexperienced so we will give them a bit of a benefit of the doubt… but service was poor. No check backs, no offering of additional drinks had to strain our necks every time we wanted their attention.

Sorry I wouldn't generally put such a review but here goes We've eaten here many, many times and could not fault it... Food, service, ambience great, thank you. However today I personally had the Hebden Bridge burger. Sorry to say this did not live up to their normal standards. Having been asked by 2 members of staff if all was ok I unfortunately had to advise that sadly no it wasn't which was clearly evident from my plate having only eaten a mouth full of the burger. I feel that sadly this was simply pulled from the freezer and defrosted and put on a Brioche roll... Sorry but simply the only way I can describe as mush and tasteless. Having been asked if all was ok the only response I received was that they'd feed this back to the chef! No offer of an alternative, even a bowl of soup which, incidentally I would have been happy with. Sorry but Β£17.00 for a small potion of chips and what I can only describe as no customer service is sadly not good. Having eaten here on many occasions we're very saddened by this visit.

The rooms are beautiful, clean and comfortable. The pub itself was very busy but lots of friendly staff. In the middle of Hebden Bridge so brilliant location. My only criticism is that our room was right out back and there were no lights when we returned in the evening. Also, our other friends who stayed in the main building had no instructions offered on how to get in as it was all locked up in darkness. We tried to rebook for October, but they are fully booked, so you need to book this very popular place well in advance so not to be disappointed!

We’ve just returned from our second stay at The White Lion, this stay was for 7 nights and we were so impressed we’ve already booked a similar stay for next year. The dog friendly room was spotless, the food and drink choices did not disappoint, especially the steak and ale pie, and the staff are just amazing, all so friendly and helpful. All in all a wonderful place to stay, eat and drink

Hebden Bridge is a notorious park, and we were late for our reservation. We called ahead and that would not be a problem. The menu is reasonable but a bit more diversity would be welcome. Starters do offer a good selection and our choices, duck baklava {which was, I am informed, exceptional} and soup. Then on to mains, a Ranch Salad, two burgers, sausage and chips {off the child's menu}, a Tabbouleh salad; I had a stake and ale pie. The pie was {too} substantial but very tasty. And everyone else enjoyed their choices. All the food was well cooked, tasty and good sized portions. We all were too full for desserts. The staff were friendly and attentive I would highly recommend a visit, if you can get parked.

I had a really tasty, well cooked and presented meal with a colleague here. The staff were knowledgeable and friendly. I will be back for more, for sure.

We got married in Hebden Bridge last weekend and The White Lion was where we stayed along with a lot of family and friends. They could not have been more helpful on what was a very busy bank holiday weekend and the team they have there are fantastic. We had a few drinks there on Friday evening, lunch on Saturday and an amazing roast on Sunday. We will certainly be going back! Thank you all.

Booked a Sunday lunch for 20 people. The communication beforehand was great. And the food was incredible. I loved every part of what I'd ordered. There were empty plates all round the table and lots of satisfied faces. Will definitely call again if we're ever in Hebden Bridge again

We stayed for one night for my birthday. The room was beautiful and massive. Well located near the square and walking distance to other amenities. We walked from the train station through the park to get to the hotel. We had a few drinks in the beer garden out back in the lovely sunshine as well. Friendly staff during the evening and morning breakfast. The breakfast was brilliant, the scrambled eggs were amazing (this is only the 2nd time I've had scrambled eggs the way I like). We'll definitely be back to stay again and this time we'll have our evening meal there as well. The food smelt and looked amazing. And looking at the happy faces and empty plates, the other customers thought the same. We'd pre-booked somewhere else for our evening meal this time, but won't make that mistake next time πŸ˜•

Excellent service and food. Our second course took some time to arrive (it was mid-afternoon which might have had something to do with it) but when it arrived was definitely worth the wait. Three cheese and onion pie was delicious (Goo Cheese on Albert Street supply the cheese and are themselves worth a visit), and we all loved the red cabbage with raisins/sultanas and (possibly) cinnamon.

Stayed at The White Lion for a couple of nights. The room was lovely, comfortable bed. Evening meals were very tasty. The breakfast menu was extensive partner choose the full English breakfast which was huge! I had Eggs Royale which was delicious. Would definitely recommend.

We stayed in the hotel with our dog.. the rooms are really cosy and decorated really beautifully, not dated at all. The staff are so friendly, great service and great at recommending drink choices and all around excellent service. The breakfast was fantastic, and included in the price of the room too. We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and we will definitely return in the future!

Just heading out of Hebden Bridge, this inn/bar/restaurant serves great food. I had the pan fried Fjord trout which was delicious and followed it with Queen's Pudding (it was Jubilee weekend). Both of which were delicious. Service was a little on the slow side but I was eating mid/late afternoon which could account for that. Highly recommend and hope to return to try something else.
