We stayed at the hotel for a wedding, we were made to feel welcome on arrival by the reception staff, nothing was too much trouble. Aaron was particularly helpful in sorting out interconnecting rooms for us, he went above and beyond, a credit to the hotel. The rooms, although slightly dated were spotlessly clean and well appointed. We all slept well, no noise or disturbance from other guests or from outside the hotel. Good selection for breakfast and lovely thick bacon. We really enjoyed our weekend here and would happily stay here again. Only disappointment was that the pool is now closed and we’d not realised before we arrived, our fault for not checking as it’s been a while since our last stay.

A really nice pleasant atmosphere from the minute I stepped in the door. All the staff are friendly and helpfull. Rooms are clean and maintained well. Good food service, self survice breakfast. Must give a special mention to Charley, think she a shift manager. So helpfull, a real people person ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐👍

I am a regular guest at Cedar Court. And must say that my experience is always positive. The rooms are clean and the staff is down to earth and very friendly. I would like to mention Joanna who went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our dining experience is delightful. Her warm and friendly demeanour, and her good knowledge of the menu, made our meals truly memorable. She accommodated our preferences with a smile, and made us feel genuinely welcomed. Her dedication to providing excellent service deserves commendation. I thank every one who contributes to the this wonderful guest experience and look forward to returning to Cedar Court Huddersfield.

I will avoid using this hotel for business, leisure, and attending events I am invited to in the future. The service I received when I went for a casual evening dinner within "The Dugout" facility within the hotel was pathetic. The place was dirty upon arrival and not ready to accommodate any customer adequately. Table service was sparse. Food was delivered to the table only after seeking out somebody to take our order, and drinks had to be ordered at the bar and taken to our tables ourselves. Upon exit, the server told us the total amount of our bill and demanded payment at the till in another part of the hotel. This was paid, however, service charges at 10% were applied and wasn't explained and therefore wasn't optional. This kind of covert charging is unacceptable and is wholly deceitful on the part of #cedarcourthuddersfield I am compelled to right this review after receiving a £100 parking charge for a 1h 46 minute visit to the facility. I understand there is a 4h grace for customer who visit for dining purposes. At no time during this visit was I asked to validate parking if this is necessary. As the barriers to enter the car park were inactive the ticketing machine was also inactive, so therefore nothing to do there. This is not the kind of service I would expect from a dining establishment, and I wouldn't expect a £100 parking charge threatening notice sent to my home following a despicable dining experience. Having interacted with this hotel yesterday to highlight my experiences, their reaction was wholly poor and passive. I would welcome a further conversation with the hotel managers Dom or Shaun with regards to this experience as this review will be shared wider, locally and nationally.

I stayed here for a few days as a work vacation. The hotel is currently undergoing some renovations but this didn't cause any issues. They have meeting rooms for business that are nicely sized and well looked after. I stayed in a superior double room for a very reasonable price, for 4 nights. The room is huge, the bed is a very comfortable king sized bed with great pillows. Huge windows in the room offer loads of light and have black out blinds AND curtains so you can choose your desired light level in the mornings. My room was silent! Even with an event in the building on the Friday night, I didn't hear a thing! The food from the Grill 52 restaurant is amazing. The menu offers a wide range of meals without being too broad. Loads of locally themed/sourced food options. I personally loved the salmon trout dish. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Unfortunately not a great experience no TV working in my bedroom reported it still not dealt with. This is far from a four star Hotel in my experience. Felt pressured to check out checking out today but I am not be collected to just after 11am. Sorry to say I would not stay here again but finally on a positive note some of the staff are friendly and helpful but once again that is the only positive point for a pretty drab stay. Further to that on my final day the breakfast was dreadful. And also placing guests where the building work is going on when half the Hotel is vacant is ridiculous nothing better then being in a room where all you can here is building noise builders music and general noise as a result this is possibly one of the worst Hotel stays I have ever had. I have added to my review as no one from the Hotel can be bothered to respond or address the problem or issues which is exactly my main issue poor leadership reflects poor performance all round. Further to my previous review the issues were over two days it always helps if you read reviews. And an apology will not suffice I have made that clear I will never stay again

It’s been a blast staying here! The room was very nice, and the staff are friendly and efficient. I had a fantastic waitress who was under a lot of pressure but remained calm and composed as they were very busy! The kitchen did an exceptional job with the steak, perfectly cooked and excellent quality ingredients! Special shout out to Jordan of the night staff!

Met up with friends for lunch. Nice relaxed atmosphere, good service from friendly staff, especially Kerrigan who was very efficient, pleasant and attentive. Food good except only one thin slice of ham in the sandwich, but rest was good. Still undergoing renovations but it didn't disrupt our get together.

Visited here on a very wet Sunday afternoon for afternoon tea that we had to use on a gift voucher. The hotel restaurant area was totally deserted. The staff that served us were very friendly and welcoming and looked after us. The afternoon tea was not bad. Had better but also had a lot worse. Was a nice way to pass what was a horrible afternoon weather wise.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in October 2023. We arrived in pouring rain only to find the front entrance was closed due to substantive redecoration works. We had to meander around the budling to find a rear entrance and got soaked. It would have helpful to inform us of the building works and direct us to park on the side of the hotel for easy access to the temporary entrance. * We were checked in by a member of staff who was trying to get home and had no pen to record our room number. * Heating was on constantly with broken control knob. * Window missing catch to open and close. * 2 lights not working in room. * Club sandwich from room service took 45 minutes to arrive. Have since received 4 parking charge notices from Parkmaven despite paying for daily parking! Never again!

Stayed here a couple of months back. The rooms and interior are quite outdated, the breakfast is alright and what you'd expect from a hotel. However, the service in the restaurant was appalling, I visited during a quiet night with maybe 5 other tables. The service was terrible, I was promptly seated and then no one came round to take my order. I think I waited 20 minutes, trying to catch someones attention before I left. The staff seemed more interested in talking amongst themselves rather than seeing to their customers

The hotel was undergoing renovations whilst we stayed there which is the main reason for the three stars as there was some disruption when checking out. However the food in the restaurant in the evening was excellent and much better than I thought it would be. Breakfast was average for this standard of hotel, buffet style.

I was only here to meet with a friend, so can't comment on anything other than the service and main bar lounge area. Bar area was ok, but could do with more casual comfortable seating I think. I ordered two drinks from the bar and found that one of them was not what I ordered. There were only half a dozen people in the bar area at the time, so it was really quiet. Probably a genuine mistake, but guessing the barman just wasn't paying attention.

Hotel was okay, but the one round the corner is nicer. Staff looked like they wanted to be anywhere else but at work, unfriendly and overall unwelcoming. Although we didn’t use it, the restaurant area looked nice. Also a gym available. The bedrooms were mediocre, not overly clean and was super hot upon arrival but basic essentials were provided and you are able to request more. Quiet for it being right next to a main road. It was okay for a few nights stay

The hotel was cheap! So great value for money, the gym is included! They also had some free ginger biscuits which was very tasty and a nice treat after a long drive. I only stayed for 9hrs as I was keen to get going again. (Left at 3:30am and there wasn’t anyone to give my card to so I put it in a glass jar?) I liked it! But I only spent 9hrs there though!

The staff were kind and friendly but after there it all goes down hill. The was a late night event both nights we stayed. We had enquired leading up to our stay whether there were any events and told that there wasn’t. Nice lie to get our money. One of the parties went on till 1 in the morning. We asked for a room change to somewhere that was not overlooking the back of the function room and one of the smoking areas. But we’re told that the hotel was full with the guests of the party. The wall paper is coming off the wall and furnishings are decrepit and there is mould in the bath room. We had to change the towels because they had a funny smell to them like chip grease. The food is over priced for the quality. Would also be carful about leaving your car in the car park, it seems to be a local learner driver test site and my car was damaged during my stay.

Had a really good few days break here. Rooms are adequate, bed comfortable and clean, corridors and rooms need some TLC. Main criticism has to be the service, particularly evening meal. On the first night because our table was served last out of approx 16 tables virtually everything we had was lukewarm at best. Second night we were served first and everything was hot. Staff were roaming around with plates of food asking different people if it was what they'd ordered. Guests had filled menu requests in with their choices but no-one had asked where they were seated. Breakfast was served between 7 and 10:30. We went down at 8 and there were no cereal bowls, no milk or cutlery and few clean tables. The overall impression at the moment is that the number of guests was too great and the hotel is not geared up to cope with such a number. All of the staff and management were friendly and approachable and if the service issues are sorted it will be a cracking venue.

Staff very friendly on arrival. Room was very clean warm and quite. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed as we was going to a function there. Food and service was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would gladly stay again. Thank you

Didn't stay here, but participated in a dinner at the conclusion of an event. Service was pretty good, but the meal? Personally, wouldn't have served RBG ( rich brown gravy) with the bouncy chicken and tablespoon of Mediterranean veg, but each to his own. The cheesecake pud was lovely, but would I go again to a similar event? Nah.

You only lose a star because the kettle didn't work. But it was a lovely hotel and the staff were attentive. We came for the Hella Mega Tour gig at the local arena. After not being able to get a taxi back we walked 2.5 miles up ( up is an understatement) a B road with no lights or footpath. Was quite harrowing. When we eventually arrived at the hotel at 1.30pm they immediately asked us if we were okay or if we needed anything. We looked like we'd been through a war.... So kind. Sounds dramatic but we were beyond out of breath and a wee bit scared from walking up a B road without footpaths in the middle of the night. Quite the fear factor.🤣 They were so nice. Would go back again.

We needed a room in this location for an early morning funeral the next day. The room was great with plenty of features. We put the restaurant to the test with a late booking for a table for ten. They came up trumps. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Arrived Fri no issues rooms comfy bathrooms need a good update food fab Friday got up sat breakfast again spot on went out for the day with tour on arrival back at 5pm it was carnage with a boxing event bar cues unreal came down for food which we were told was 6.30 but it was 7 service very slow from starters to mains wouldn’t of been so bad if we could get to bar for a drink so ended up in our rooms for 9pm as the floors where had drink all over not really practical when most of the group where elderly but just as well as a hour later police turning up in force as the boxing kicked off in to a mass brawl totally understand yous need to make money but maybe think more of your guests needs to enjoy there stay also what happened to swimming pool you still advertise on your website and coach tours not so 4 stars as stated

Good hotel but let down by poor hotel services. We had no hot water for 5 days, boiler problem according to the manager but did not seem to care, no room service one day and again when I went to ask for it to be done I was met with the following comments from the manager, yes the same one.... sorry we don't have anyone to do it, I asked for some more tea and coffee and was told he would get some, I asked as we were just going to get some food could they be taken up to our room, just got a blank look. As my partner is disabled we booked a ground floor room....we ended up on floor 3, ok there was a lift but when you book a ground floor room you expect to get one. Again told there was no ground floor rooms available strange that they put others in our party who are fully able-bodied were in ground floor rooms. I found the room clean and well maintained the bed for me was comfortable although my partner was no so happy with it, neither were others in our party. In general terms the hotel was acceptable, the food was good although the kitchen staff should know that to get consent root vegetables cooking they need to be prepared to the same size, pretty basic in my mind. We agreed that we would stay there again.

I was really impressed with how accomadating and professional the staff was. Check in was quick and ans overall great first impressions. The superior room was nice & clean, only 2 pillows, this was sorted by the night team., very helpful. Bed was quite uncomfortable and couldn't get sleep until 5am; this wasn't the hotels fault, police helicopter flying around. The shower wasn't warm or powerful enough, very small bathroom. What I was more disappointed about was the amount of money my mum was charged for the buffet, of which was nice; but not value in terms of quality. Quantity was ok. This was a wake to celebrate the life of our dear Grandad, to see staff still getting the room ready 10 minutes prior wasn't a good start; the food was delayed and the hot food came out much later. The bucks fizz was a £2.99 bottle of sparking wine; with fresh orange, again no problems, my mum was charged £24.99 per bottle. I hate to complain, but I feel after working in this industry, for most of my life, my family could of got more value for the money which was paid. The room hire was free and greatly appreciated, the staff are naturally attentive and do go that extra mile, but it is the attention to detail which I feel could of been improved. Marks on the seats, no napkins until I asked towards the end of the food and chewing gum under the table etc. The hotel does need some tlc. I normally don't like to write negative reviews; this is also a positive on the amazing staff, its just niggle little bits which stands out for me above and more & however thank you for accomadating our families today and this is no reflection on your team.

Nice for what you would class as a business hotel. Breakfast was very nice and staff very friendly and helpful, although we were staying for a wedding. Just a pitty that this chain don't think about that when they cancel weddings and peoples reservations thats been booked for months because illegal immigrants seem to be more important as a cash cow!
