beautiful park to spend the day at, plenty of seating and greenery. if you walk all the way up it leads to a beautiful reservoir with a small waterfall and even more seating.

A beautiful park that serves as the central meeting place of Guanajuato. The Park is fairly small, but it is well maintained and clean. The calling card of the park is the "tree hedge" that surrounds the entirety of its triangular shape. There are lots of restaurants on two sides of the park while the third one opens to a view of Teatro Juares and a small but lovely church. The square can get quite noisy, since it is home to many mariachi bands that will play on demand when summoned by the restaurant patrons.

Guanajuato is a friendly town with a lively student population,It has a great climate, we went in July and it was in the mid 80s and very sunny. The main plaza the jardin is a lovely shady square surrounded by restaurants and bars with live music in every corner. In the evening everyone goes out to eat or just si t around often grandparents ,parents and children all together as a family. Though there are lots of students around they were very laid back and not at all intimidating, in fact the whole place was very friendly and felt totally safe, even wandering around at night. It is also a very clean place, no litter and the rubbish collected every night. Meet in the jardin in the evening to see the musicians and performers from the university in traditional dress, then follow them around the town in the paseo. Great fun!

Beautiful shaded (pedestrian only) area envelopes small sunny central park, surrounded by restaurants & artisan shops; all adjacent a streetscape of markets, artists and shops. Like nothing I've seen before. Mariachi bands vie for your dollar, adding to the color, sights & sounds. So very Mexico! Not to be missed if you're in the area.

Beautiful display of the gardens. The gardener does an amazing job with the trees. to sit and soak up the green and the sounds of people is wonderful. Take the time to stop here and have a moment to yourself, You won't regret it.

Literally a cacophony of sights and sounds with literally every building being historical and worth examining, great shopping options and tons of restaurants / street vendors. While the majority of vendors don't speak fluid English (shocker I know), even a malo Spanish speaker like myself had no problems shopping. My only real complaint (as a non-smoker) is the ambiance is somewhat lessened by how smokey it can get in the evening. I highly recommend for tourists looking for a fun / safe interior Mexico experience!

My favourite place to hang out. Great for people watching and occasional and most pleasant interactions. Always an abundance of activity, especially in evenings. Full symphony performances on the gazebo. A magical place.

Mariachi central. Several nice restaurants with lots of outdoor seating. Mariachis and vendors will be hitting you up consistently. Be ready to hire a mariachi band if you are out on a date. We had two competing bands consistently coming to oir table at the restaurant we went to. When we were ready we just had to look at the mariachis under the trees for them to quickly come over and make a deal. 5 songs for 1000pesos. It was worth it. I think mariachi is the best music in the world. Beautiful trees create a canopy to walk under, there is a dancefloor in the center of them. This is the busiest area downtown, and full of awesome vendors to say no to. Ahhah
