Very nice and charming restaurant. Definitely worth a visit. I have tried sitting upstairs at the balcony and downstairs in the main hall. Both were complete different dining experience. Upstairs is great for quiet couply dinner and drink, nice view to the charming street downstairs. Main hall was very classic and old school, u will see lots of Mexican family eating there too. As for food, thumbs up! 😋

Pleasantly dim lighting with old-fashioned decor featuring antique typewriters and record players on the walls. The food shines above most neighboring tourist restaurants, where classic Mexican dishes are prepared with care. During busy times you may be seated in the back room next to the kitchen -- normally this is a bad thing, but the old-fashioned setup gave it an extra authentic vibe, especially given the pleasant decor all around. The mole sauce on chicken enchiladas was perfectly rich, and the garlic sauce on the fish fillet was nice, too. Prices were reasonable for the tourist center -- enchiladas were 130 pesos and fish fillet 180 pesos. Portions are hearty. And while the 50 peso guacamole is delicious, you may wish to skip it if you want to finish your main course.

An excellent restaurant, which serves very good food at inexpensive prices. We went to Truco 7 on a Sunday evening after arriving in Guanajuato. We knew nothing of the place. It was superb. The steak I ordered was outstanding; and, the meals my friends ordered were similarly excellent. Before we leave Guanajuato, we are going to endeavour to return. Thank you, Truco 7, for a wonderful dining experience.

What a great family owned restaurant and the line outside showed it’s definitely a staple of Guanajuato. The kitchen and service was on point despite it being really busy. We got our food extremely quickly and we both had great night. Just wish we’d tried the beautiful cakes that kept going by us:)

This place has the 3 “B’s” that a Mexican knows and sometimes is looking for. “Bueno, bonito y barato” the food was tasty and a good size. It’s like homemade food and very Mexican. I would recommend this place if you want to have a good and tasty lunch that does the job, but nothing “wow” or go with huge expectations.

Love this place, the food is very tasty, the fresh juice waters are also delicious. The only thing I prefer my food really hot. Everything else is great.

Truco 7 was a good experience. It was a surprisingly large resturant and had decent food. Had the chicken enchiladas, tortilla soup and tuna salad. The only thing that was lackluster was the tuna salad (but I don't think this is the best place to order a tuna salad). Also had a milk cake which was tasty. I would like to return to try some.of the other dishes.

The worst service ever server was slower than anything you could fathom. 20 mins to get drinks on table and then they were brought with no cups or ice to pour it into . Took another 10 plus mins and asking multiple times to get them. Food was out before drinks and not at same time so people were eating at separate times. This place needs to do some service staff training the amount of money they lost on drink sales because of how slow the service was. Food was delicious but the service was far below average.

Two ppl in the city recommended this restaurant. They told me “eat enchiladas mineras”. I ordered and I love them. The most delicious enchiladas I ever tasted. Big portions. I was lucky to get balcony seat and I enjoyed the nice view of beautiful of Guanajuato. If I ever come back this restaurant will be my first stop.

TOURIST TRAP !Service is mediocre, some of the other tables were getting their food first, even though our table was there first. The wait was way too long and the mole poblano arrived cold. When I let the waiter know, he returned with my plate warm, which let me know it was microwaved. Unsurprisingly they were quick to give us the check to rush us out of there. 1/10 please go somewhere else

Enchiladas Mineras Rojas con 1/4 De Pollo was amazing. Very generous portion, nice big chunks of potatoes and carrots. If your hungry I would recommend

The restaurant has this nice atmosphere of a Mexican house. Very nice place. The service is ok although they don't accept credit cards. This place is famous for its enchiladas. Although nowadays the fame is bigger than the flavor of the enchiladas. I ordered green enchiladas, and I could think of hundreds of other places where the same enchiladas are tastier.

The service was fine. The food was just ok. One out of three meals was good. One order of chilequiles was ordered with red sauce and it was clear that it was a combination of both green and red. Likely the cooks noticed the mistake and just added red sauce to the green sauce, which resulted in a plate of sauce more than anything else. Unfortunately, the server never returned to check on our meals so we didn’t have the opportunity to make them aware of it. We have definitely had much better food here for a better price. The atmosphere was nice, but the food was disappointing, especially for the price point.

The food was the blandest we have had in Mexico so far. The Guacamole was okay, the rest was very lacking in flavour. I can't really understand all these positive reviews. We had quesadillas and burritos from the recommended section of the menu and they were not good.

2/10 stars. I do not recommend and I certainly will not return. I would give 1/10 stars had the service been worse. Context: I visited on a Saturday at 5:30pm after leaving my previous restaurant selection debacle. --- Disclaimer: I am not writing this in anger. I'm writing with disappointment. I should just be used to terrible restaurants in Guanajuato. That being said, there's a reason most restaurants in Guanajuato have such similar scores. I do not like giving places one star. I realize these reviews are used by many people and a business may suffer because of a low score, but I must be honest. I would want someone to provide me with context for a bad review. --- Overall: What a disappointing experience. Do not follow the tourist hype for this place. How bad is it? It's been a very long time since I've been served a cold dish. It's that bad. Specifics: - Credit cards are not accepted, but that didn't bother me. - Tourist prices. Be sure to check the menu outside of the door to confirm you are comfortable with the prices. - Cold food is so gross and especially when it is chilaquiles + an egg on top. It was cold. My local friend and I sent both of our dishes back. BOTH. We sent the plate back to be "warmed up". In the US I would have sent the plate back and demanded I not be charged. I would have gotten up and left. - Salsa so bland you may as well eat tomato sauce. Chips so oily you could wax your car interior with them. Terrible. Just terrible. I will not complain about the service, but I will not commend the service.

A local recommended this place so we gave it a try only to find out the food was bland, all of it. I ordered the fish with garlic, wife ordered the consomé and we ordered as an appetizer the Enchiladas Mineras. All food was bland, there it is, I said it again. Overall we spent $12 per person

One of my favorite restaurants in Guanajuato Capital . Food is delicious and affordable. This restaurant is very popular with the locals, you might need to wait for a table during the weekend.

Fast service and preparation (too fast?), nice space however the omelet was fairly tasteless / bland and the Enmoladas de Pollo very dry. Cash only.

my boyfriend and i spontaneously decided to come here for breakfast and we thoroughly enjoyed it. we took one star off because the eggs with sausage was really just eggs with hot dogs, but the chicken soup made up for it. the guacamole was simple but delicious, the iced cappuccinos hit the spot, and my omelet was pretty good. the balcony seating was nice and a sweet birdie hung out with us for most of our meal, which was special.
