It
is
with
great
hesitancy
that
I
write
this
review
simply
because
I
don't
want
other
people
to
know
about
this
hidden
gem,
but
Janet
was
such
a
lovely
and
gracious
host.
I
did
an
extended
stay
here
over
the
winter.
I
am
no
stranger
to
this
area.
In
the
past,
I
have
stayed
at
the
Fairmont,
Moose
Lodge
and
Suites,
Hidden
Ridge
Resorts,
Ptarmigan
Inn,
and
Stoneridge,
Blackstone,
Falcon
Crest
over
in
Canmore.
I
think
each
property
has
their
own
vibe
that
they're
going
for,
I
find
that
Elkhorn
Lodge
kinda
just
oozes
a
kind
of
warmth,
charm,
and
authenticity
that
is
not
found
in
all
the
other
hotels
that
I've
stayed
at.
It
is
far
away
from
Banff
Ave
so
you
don't
get
that
touristy
feel
yet
close
enough
that
all
the
amenities
located
on
the
main
strip
are
easily
accessible
by
walking.
There
is
a
path
off
to
the
side
of
the
lodge
that
opens
up
to
a
residential
area,
and
immediately
off
of
that
is
the
Bow
River
access
to
multiple
hiking
trails.
Deer
just
casually
graze
on
the
lawn.
I
think
the
biggest
complaint
about
Banff
is
the
very
touristy
and
crowded
vibe.
This
is
the
closest
you
can
get
to
getting
the
small
mountain
town
life
feeling
in
Banff
while
still
being
able
to
enjoy
all
that
the
town
has
to
offer.
