Me and my Wife went in last night for her birthday and what DISAPPOINTMENT it was. We booked a table at 6:45 and when we went in we were waiting for about 5 minutes by the door, then 3 other customers were behind us and the waiter/cheff sat them before us why? After then we got seated and gave us the menu. We were after a mix seafood plate wich is called Hakka Seafood set 38£ per person. We choose a bottle of pinot grigio to drink wich was nice and chilled, after almost 45 minutes I called the waiter/cheff if he could come to take our order? I ask him if they still make the Hakka Seafood and he said No but he could make something similar and we said yes. He said he was going to bring us some tempura calamari and gambas with chilli for our starter we said yes that's fine, and he kept saying no worries i will make something similar to the set Seafood Hakka. After 30 minutes arrived the starters only 1 plate for us to share, so we thought well the mix seafood Hakka must be a big plate. By the time we finish with our starter until he came to clear our table and to bring the main course we wait at least 1 hour and 30 minutes if not more. Finally he came with our main course, no seafood but he brought only one piece of black cod, small tray of scalops, 1 bowl of sticky rice and 1 tray of vegetables, we ate it because we were very hungry, and also was my wife's birthday. By the time we were eating our main course we thought about dessert. But then my wife said I'm not gonna order any dessert or other wise we will wait another hour or more for it. We booked some cinema tickets at 22:15 glad we book for that late. After we ate it we ask for the bill and he came to our table saying he has no paper for the bill, so he decided all together will be 120£. My wife just said just pay for it I Don't want any problems on my birthday. I SAID SERIOUSLY 120£ FOR 1 BOTTLE OF PINOT GRIGIO, 1 STARTER AND 1 MAIN COURSE?? SO IF GO THERE BE PREPARED TO WAI LONG TIME YOU EAT WHAT HE WANTS AND BE PREPARED FOR AN EXPENSIVE MEAL

I would give -5 stars if I could. This meal cost us £70 including ridiculous service and tea charge for each person. The food quality wasn't even that good, and you can get the same experience for £20 with more food in a takeaway. The manager/waiter/chef was running the whole place on his own on friday evening (likely no one wants to work there with him!) and luckily we were the first ones there, otherwise there would be a 3hr+ wait before getting any food on the table. We tried to order more food because the portions were small but he refused to take orders because more customers came in. The sign of the restaurant is broken and gone, the manager you can tell is extremely cheap and selfish - not even offering hot water because he says it would crack the glass...what? The restaurant also received a 0 star hygiene rating in food standards agency not surprisingly reported in local newspaper. Due to positive reviews on trip advisor and recommendation from friend a while back, I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt, but never again. Avoid this place like the plague. This place should be closed down based on what I've seen today. Hakka seafood? More like hack your wallet and leave hungry. We had to go to a takeaway next door after the meal.

Some of the best Chinese seafood I've ever eaten !!! It was so good. Don't let the looks of the restaurant put u off, its alittle dated and could benefit from a freshen up BUT the staff and food defo makes up for it ! Please take my word for it ! The man who served us as the waiter was also the cook on the night, ive heard this is rather normal on quiet nights, I feel this worked in our favour though as we got to ask questions about different dishes and he could really help recommend dishes and change dishes to suit us ! Sometimes we had to wait a few extra minutes to get a drink as he was cooking our dinner but we didnt mind as it was worth the wait and he was really friendly! We ended up getting a mixed seafood sharing set menu !!! It was so amazingly yummy..... I've never had flavours like it ! The set menu was supposed to come with a seafood chowder but he asked if we like mussels instead, fresh in that morning ! We jumped at the chance and were so happy we did !!! They where stunning, cooked in a blackbean, garlic, ginger and oil mix sauce ! Wow ! Everything else was so nice but these mussels really stuck in my mind !! Oh and the seabass was just as good, I couldn't believe what I was tasting when I had a bit of that, the sauce it was cooked in was stunning I'm 100 % going here again and would love to take some good friends with me. Hope this review has tempted you!! Its got me excited just writing it :-) feel free to click "like" haha

High price but not high quality of food and service. There was only one person running the whole restaurant(the waiter, the cook, the cashier). And only half of the lights were turned on. The whole table needed to share one menu which is printed on a A4 paper. And the quality of food is really really bad.

I think this joint is on the verge of going out of business. Was around dinner time. Went in party of 4 . 2 Kids not that young. The owner said could not accommodate family because of kids. Turned us away. Got a bit rude even though restaurant was empty. Not even sure why there was an open sign in front. So rude. Obvious this place was probably a one man band. One customer in restaurant . Quarter of the lights were on. Menu was probably surviving on frozen produce due to lack of staff and business. I'm actually glad he turned us away after reading the other one star review where one woman probably had worst birthday of her life. Saved me a chunk of cash for predictably awful food. I mean place is def struggling. Sign is bust. It's def on life support. So sympathy? Guy just shouldn't have been so rude and been upfront .

Unbelievable seafood, which is reflected in the high prices. Well worth to try the lobster or the black cod at least once in your life! No point ordering side dishes or rice as they will have a large markup and the only reason to come is to try the fresh seafood.

Only one staff for the entire restaurant. Extremely rude, understaffed, racist service. We were left unattended for 20 minutes (with reservation). Minimum £25/person, cash only. Foods on the menu were not even available. So we had to leave with an empty stomach. I feel disgusted by this place. Hope your business goes well with this attitude.

Just went to this restaurant to take my girlfriend on a good night out. We entered asked for a table with only 1 of the 12 tables occupied and the waiter said "were sorry reservation only" there is legit nobody in your resturant. I then called 10 mins later to make a reservation and I was told "were closed for reservations" horrible service.

Fine dinning in Cambridge is usually either very expansive or just not very good. This place however is a gem! Yes, it is on the pricey side, yet it is worth it for the experience you get to have. We paid about 90£ for what you see in the picture and an entree, there are no desserts in there fyi. Don't miss!

A lovely restaurant that gives the vibe of a family owned business. We had sizzling scallops with black bean and chilli sauce, steamed bass and kingprawns with springonion and ginger. All of this was tasting incredibly fresh and very delicious. We are very glad to have finally found a place with good and fresh seafood in Cambridge. We'll definitely come again.

Went to this Chinese restaurant without any expectation. But WOW! Absolutely blown away by the quality of the food, the commitment & dedication & perfectionism of the owner. Wow. Wow. Wow. Can't recommend it enough. It's not particularly stylish or trendy but if you're after good Chinese food GO here!

Just had an amazing meal here. The stFf worked really hard to make us feel welcome and they managed it well. Our food was fantastic, it was well cooked and very well presented. There was also plenty of food for us all to share. The cost here was very reasonable and we would make a beeline for this place again when we come back to Cambridge.

Reserve a table for 4 for the family. Best seafood restaurant I have tried in Cambridge and in fact the entire UK based on the number of cities I had been so far (>10). Authentic Asian flavour seafood for those who love Asian food and for those who like spicy food. The seafood was fresh and nicely cooked with the perfect tender and taste. The chef / owner is friendly and kind. Having been a chef at a 5-star hotel previously means that he knows what it takes to cook a delicious seafood dish. Prawns, scallops, soft shell crab, mussels and squids can be cooked in different ways at your liking and they are all wonderfully cooked. What a hidden jewel in a not so visible street. Highly recommended! Book in advance to avoid disappointment as the seafood needs to be purchased by the chef on the day to ensure its freshness and quality! Thank you, Mr Chong, for an enjoyable dinner!

Would give 0 stars if I could. Booked a table for Mother’s Day and the restaurant confirmed via email. We came from London to visit my mum for Mother’s Day and upon arriving at the restaurant, we find it closed. I call the owner and the owner said he closed up because he didn’t think we were coming… we were only 5 minutes past the booking time. I said couldn’t you have atleast called to confirm. He said he didn’t have a way to contact me (a lie since he had my email). His reasons for closing up were to save electricity because the cost of living crisis is expensive like his customers aren’t paying to travel to the restaurant.. Would not recommend at all. The worst service I’ve ever had and it was less than a handful of interactions.

So, I read some of the negative reviews and I get it. Easy to get frustrated with only one guy running the whole place. However, we were impressed by his hard work and (in our opinions) superb cuisine. The crispy lamb appetizer in particular is delicious. If you have just a touch of patience, admire someone with moxie, enjoy unique experiences and tasty food, we recommend you try it. Oh, and don’t be put off by the exterior - clean and well kept inside.

20min from Cambridge city center but it was a nice walk though. Chef Chang from Hong Kong runs the business all by himself that’s why you might expect the food to be served a little bit slower, but he offered very reasonable recommendations (and he’s humorous!), and the foods were great, very fresh seafoods- fish and pawns, delicious tofu and vegetable, juicy steak etc. Overall, we had a great time there, will definitely recommend it!

The best Chinese we've ever had! The crispy chilli prawn and Mongolian lamb pancakes to start were sensational, followed by sizzling Cantonese beef and kung pao prawns with egg fried rice. Absolutely no problem with the owner/chef – he was lovely, though the atmosphere isn't exactly buzzing, but we were there for the food!
