Great atmosphere, excellent wait staff! The food was okay, my son is vegan and he loved his blue plate special. The rest of us love vegetarian food. Some of the things we got was the tofu scramble which was okay not a lot of flavor, the home fries had a funny taste to them and the onions added in were too sweet with the potatoes, also the tater tots were just crunchy there was no potato in them at all! My husband got a Bloody Mary for a drink and liked it, overall it was okay the atmosphere was great lively and fun staff was excellent, food could be better and taken a little more time to cook, the food came out VERY QUICKLY.

We visited this place with a group of friends. The waiting time for outdoor seating was 15 minutes, so we decided to stay indoors. The standout highlight was the vegan nachos. They were absolutely delicious, and the portions were generous, considering the price. Gyro was also quite good, and Chick n Waffles was alright! Rose Sangria was a disappointment. It felt like I was drinking water due to the excessive ice. Services and food were great, but one thing that put me off was an automatic additional charge on the bill for the kitchen staff, which I found quite ridiculous! Isn't it expected for the restaurant to provide fair wages to their employees? It seems unreasonable for customers to be responsible for covering kitchen staff expenses along with the mandatory minimum 18% service tipping. It's truly astonishing!

I've been wanting to try Veggie Galaxy, and when a vegan friend visited, it seemed like the perfect time. It was really busy on a Saturday evening -- we waited around 30 minutes to get a table. We ordered too much food but got to try a lot of their options. We ordered the buffalo chicken tenders, but they were a bit soggy and lacked crispiness. They were alright, but I wouldn't order them again. The Beyond meat chopped steak was good because it's Beyond meat, but not particularly remarkable otherwise. The Cajun cauliflower had a nice crunchy texture but lacked flavor and was under-salted. The brussels sprouts were sweet, which I didn't love, but they were well-seasoned compared to the other dishes. The hash browns were a highlight -- crispy and well-seasoned, probably the best thing on the table. The vegan chocolate cake was also quite good. Overall, I enjoyed my experience, but it could have been better. The cauliflower and buffalo chicken tenders could be improved. While there's nothing that would make me choose Veggie Galaxy over my usual go-to restaurants, it's a solid option for those looking for a variety of vegetarian and vegan choices.

Went there for the first time today for brunch and it was 11/10 DELICIOUS. Had the Mac n stack and poutine, my friend had Buffalo Mac and cheese and side of breakfast potatoes. Portion sizes were large, everything tasted so good. The Mac n stack is one of their popular items so I went for it. Menu is large. would love to come back and try everything else! The wait time was also reasonable and not bad at all. The waiters and waitresses were super kind and fun. Definitely recommend!!

We enjoyed our meal here. The staff is friendly and efficient and made sure we got our meal quickly as we had an appointment to make. The Mac and cheese with 3 cheeses (vegan cheese is an option) was served piping hot and was delicious. It was a large portion served with a dressed salad. The cauliflower po boy tasted good but was not hot. The cauliflower pieces were room temp and not very crispy anymore. The fries that came with the po boy were cold so we didn’t eat them. The side of Brussels sprouts were charred and were thankfully warm. They tasted pretty good but were a bit sweeter than we prefer. We still ate them. Overall, would say this is a win and we would come back and try many more items in their extensive menu. I wish I knew what would be cooked to order though as I like my food hot.

Amazing vegetarian and vegan diner! All the classic diner vibes but serving up some good plant based food. Tried the moist maker sandwich which was a special that had all the classic Thanksgiving foods on a sandwich. It was flavorful and very filling. The coleslaw served on the side was great as well. My boyfriend got the Mac stack and loved it. Our food came out fast and we had great service. Highly recommend coming here! Everything is clearly labeled with whether it is vegetarian or vegan. Most every vegetarian item had a option to make it vegan. Also they have a huge dessert selection as well that's vegan.

Absolutely love coming here each time. We ordered the Oreo and the Vanilla Zebra Frappes. Vegan Mac and cheese, Vegan nachos, & the blue plate special with a side of Mac and cheese balls. All of course we're very good 😋. Highly recommend. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Absolutely amazing food and great service. Hands down, one of the best restaurants we've been to. Every single thing we ordered was phenomenal. The flavor of the seitan in the gyro was incredible. The fried mac and cheese bites were better than any non vegan ones I've had. The best part though, was watching my daughter, who can't have dairy, look at the menu and know she could eat anything she wanted. We'll be making the drive down from Maine just to eat here!

What a great place to come for breakfast, lunch, anytime! We had the great Galaxy burger and the omelette and both were fabulous. A proper American diner, all decent decor and lovely friendly staff - kudos! Can’t wait to visit again. Update - visited again - and not disappointed! We tried something totally different on the menu - The Club sand which one of those choices and by golly it was good. Excellent portion size and very tasty.

Everything came together beautifully for us. We arrived literally right before a line formed. We were seated in a booth. The customer service was on point and attentive although it became quite busy. The food was yummy. I ordered a BLT, tater tots and tea. Everything tasted fresh and was the temperature one would expect. We were checked on and when the bill arrived, we weren’t rushed out the door. I will return.

Usually crowded so plan to go in early or wait for 20-30min. I was excited to see the dishes on the menu and various categories of food. We ordered avocado toast and (south) western ave in omelette. Unfortunately, the avocado toast was super super basic (no salt or pepper even). Like no effort was made to make it taste delicious. I make better ones at home. The omelette was fine, missing major ingredient - salt. Ambience is nice so worth going for the feel of it

I really wanted to love it, it could easily become a “spot” for me. Instead, about 4hrs after having the mozzarella sticks and the buffalo mac and cheese (with vegan cheese sauce) I am *still* nauseous and have such a feeling of pain and discomfort that I wish I could just go to sleep and undo my late lunch. It was my first time eating from Veggie Galaxy and perhaps their breakfast or desserts are better but would not recommend what I had... I’ve included pictures for reference. The “cheese” inside the mozzarella sticks was slimy so maybe it was that (the breading was tasty though)? Or maybe the breaded buffalo seitan? The pasta and vegan cheese sauce were good. The service was great and I will probably try some lower stake meals down the line as I have some friends who consider Veggie Galaxy a decent quick fix. I’ll update this review if I do, but based exclusively on what I ate I have to give a 2/5 with one of those stars being for service!

I've ordered from Veggie Galaxy more than a dozen times since they reopened back in August and I have never been let down or disappointed by them. The selection of food is immense and everything is delicious, and is always packaged properly and served hot. The staff is also friendly and helpful towards their customers. I'm particularly impressed with their Covid preparedness, as they've taken ample precautions and are incredibly transparent with how they handle any unexpected situations. They should be the gold standard on how restaurants approach the new normal, and I'm incredibly proud to have Veggie Galaxy as a pillar of our community!

Cute plant-based diner that can make anything on their menu vegan! They have everything you'd expect from a diner, from decor to food. They offer a ton of breakfast, lunch and dinner options, with a good selection of desserts. Their vegan frappes alone make it worth a trip. Quick and friendly service.

Veggie Galaxy is 5 stars all the way! Large portions, delicious vegetarian and vegan cuisine and outdoor dining = culinary heaven. We ordered the Central Square Omelet, Southwestern Breakfast Burrito, stack of blueberry pancakes, the Great Galaxy and a bowl of Matcha tea. Everything was flavorful and delicious! The total bill was $60 before tip which is reasonable given the portion size and quality in every bite. The one negative is that the portions are big and the food is so good… you eat everything and that means there is no room for dessert! After seeing the cake selection… we will definitely return, multiple thumbs up!

The place is beautiful and the service was super friendly and fast. Some of the dishes were incredible, others were just ok. The Mac & stack had really good and crispy chick'n but the tempeh bacon did not compliment the flavor of the rest of the dish. The buns made of mac & cheese waffles were good but we were not expecting them to be sweet. The fried cauliflower and brussels sprouts were delicious and the highlight of the meal. The loaded Mac and cheese was also great and I could not believe it did not have real meat it in. Highly recommend veggie galaxy, and a great spot for a date!

Really fun vibe! A little pricey, and some items were hit or miss, but overall a good experience. None of us liked the tempeh bacon. The Seitan chicken was good, and the Mac and cheese waffle was amazing! Frappe was okay, but pricey. Whipped cream cost extra (which we weren’t told) and wasn’t great. Service was friendly, but we had some communication issues. A couple mistakes and weren’t told about some extra charges. I’ll definitely go back and give it another try. 👍🏼

I’ve gone here twice so far and ordered pancakes both times. Once with their traditional pancakes and another with their blueberry filled. Both with mixed berries on top. Their pancakes are AMAZING. They come with banana butter, which I’ve never seen anywhere else, and this really light syrup that adds just the right amount of sweetness. I’ve also had their tea, and it’s so legit!! It’s not the powdered stuff. It comes from a legit tea bag, meaning you have to add your own sugar. I’ve heard from my friend that their iced coffee and vegan milkshakes are also really good. The place is stylized like a classic 80s diner. The staff are super friendly. The only thing is is that the place gets crowded very quickly and can get very loud. Come when it opens at 9am if you prefer a quieter place to eat.

I'd give this place 6 stars if I could. Great food, excellent desserts and the staff are fabulous. You may wait as they are very popular. And in the covid era its take out only so make sure to leave a tip for the very deserving staff there.

My brother and I found this spot on Google Maps while I was visiting him in Boston. As decade+ vegetarians, we HAD to try it out. Honestly, it was incredible. We were seated very quickly, even despite there being a lot of diners who were in the neighborhood for a show at a nearby venue. Our server, Jessica, was super amicable. She took our orders promptly, checked in with us while eating, and brought us our dessert to go. She has a charming personality. The menu selection was probably the most difficult part of the experience—because I wanted to try like 5 different dishes! Our food came out perfectly cooked and the plant-based proteins were top tier. It was exceptionally satisfying and the prices were not too bad as far as vegetarian/vegan food goes. This spot deserves to be featured on Guy’s Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives! It was that impressive!

Very cool space with a huge menu. It was hard to decide what we wanted. The frappes were delicious, and as a vegetarian it was so thrilling to have my choice of all the traditional diner food. We got chicken and waffles and the gyro, but the standout dish ended up being the crispy Brussels sprouts. Overall, highly recommend.

I can’t recommend this place enough! It’s amazing to have so many vegan options, it was hard to decide what to order. It all sounded so good. We got the chicken Parmesan and the Ruben sandwich. So good. The sauce on the chicken parm was super flavourful and the bread was really fresh. The decor and theme of the restaurant is so cute! I love the 1950’s diner style.

I just couldn't believe it. The Harlem Steak Bomb with onions. Satay (Gyro) We shared one another lunch. Brussels sprouts. Onion rings They gave me a slice of chocolate birthday cake. That's vegan, this cake was better and so moist. than any cake, I've ever had. I am not a fan of sweets. Sorry guys It was so good I forgot about the pics and began to do what I DO... I promise better pictures to follow. Since I have no problem to fix the era, 🤣 ALMOST LOST A THUMB

This was my first visit to Veggie Galaxy and I can’t wait to go back! The server was so welcoming, I asked for suggestions, because everything on the menu seemed so delicious that I couldn’t choose one, and she recommended the Mac’n Stack and the Reuben. I got the Reuben, my boyfriend tried the Mac’ n stack, both delicious! The place was super busy on Sunday for lunch, but take your time to check out this place, it’s worth it. We waited 25min to be seated, not bad, and the place was sooo crowded, so I think that’s actually very fast.

I place an order. Instructions online say to go to the front of the store. I do that. There's nobody there. It's freezing cold out. I call the store. I get an automated pickup. I knock on the door. Nothing. I try to open the door. Nothing. I knock on the window, violently. Finally somebody comes to the door. "What's the deal with that?" "Nothing I can do about it" guy says to me. Great. Thought the comedy shop was down the street.

There were two of us and we ordered broccoli soup with cheddar which was delicious and highly recommended. We also got a Portobello patty melt which was juicy and recommended and the Galaxy burger was okay. We ordered tea, which consists of a good amount of quantity.

Fantastic diner with so many vegan options! Probably one of the most luxurious breakfast sandwiches I've had. The blueberry pancakes were also delicious. I am glad we stopped in here early into our trip, we will definitely be coming back again!

As the name suggest, it is restaurant for vegetarian and vegan people. The whole menu is vegan dishes made to perfection. As I am afraid of USA food quantity, veggie Galaxy doesn’t disappoint. The food was huge and rich as most of the dishes we ordered has cheese in it. My personal favourite was their black bean burger.

Hands-down my favorite vegan food in Boston! Although this place always has a wait (well-deserved), I always get seated within thirty minutes. With so many cool stores and coffee shops nearby, it is never a bad wait. My go-to order is the vegan BLT because who doesn’t love a good BLT? The potato salad on the side is INSANELY good. I also would highly recommend the fried pickles and the breakfast burrito. This time around, we ordered a vegan birthday cake! It was 6” and fed a whole party of about 20 people. Not only did it look beautiful, but it tasted amazing! Great service.

Finally, vegan frappes! This place was delicious. Great diner atmosphere as well. They also have boozy frappes as well as regular ones. You don't have to be vegetarian to enjoy the food here. I barely even noticed that my entire meal was vegan!

I’ve been here a smattering of times over the last decade, and while I really want to like it, the food is just really not for me. I’m a lifelong vegetarian and really don’t like food that imitates the taste of meat, but it’s hard to find other types of protein options here (especially if you don’t want eggs for a given meal). Most recently tried the Reuben - the seitan was way too similar to meat, I was so grossed out. I also tried the vegan broccoli cheddar soup and the nachos (also vegan) and just didn’t like the taste of anything. That said, the service was friendly and efficient, and the outdoor seating area is large and nice to enjoy Mass Ave in the summer.

First and forth most the food was absolutely amazing here. Nothing was wrong with the food. If you don't like vegetarian or vegan food or haven't tried it, then this is the place to go where you will fall in love with the food The service though.... I want to say that it is because of the shortage of workers, but we were completely forgotten about after we were given a table. We had to keep going up to the host stand to get service. And at the end of it had to get our own check to pay for it. Hopefully they get more workers and aren't normally this way.

The experience far exceeded my expectations. The service, food and portions were all fantastic! Will definitely come back again. Loved it!! I ordered the Mac and cheese with buffalo cauliflower (vegan) and it was so, so good! I also love how EVERYTHING on the menu has a vegan option!

  • 5/5 Zach G. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing, loved everything about it. Great menu, service was on point, and even though it was crowded (Saturday 2pm) they sat us with minimal wait. Pricing was very reasonable and portions big - had to take some home. 👍👍

  • 4/5 Robert M. 4 years ago on Google
Great place for those with a specific diet or have food restrictions. My girlfriend is vegan so it was nice that everything on their menu could be made that way. The Galaxy sandwich was good, but a little on the heavy side. Seems like they try to maintain the diner style feel and taste while accommodating the vegetarian and vegan diet with substituted ingredients (which do still taste good). Vegan mozzarella sticks were okay, but my girlfriend and I could only eat two since it was another heavy item with a heavy sammy.

  • 5/5 Ju 1 year ago on Google
Veggie Galaxy is out of this world!! I had a phenomenal time here. Service is great and I love getting a seat at the booth. There are plenty of both vegan and vegetarian options and the mac and cheese was spectacular. Their buffalo mac was the star. The big mac mac and cheese was good but depends on your taste. If you enjoy a more pickley taste, I would recommend it then. Their milkshakes were also good but very pricy, especially if you get the whipped cream. I would recommend splitting a milk shake if you can. Overall, I had a great time at Veggie Galaxy!

  • 5/5 Kerstin K. 1 year ago on Google
When people inevitably ask me what I miss most about not being vegan, the answer is always "diner-style breakfast." Thanks to Veggie Galaxy, I was able to enjoy this experience again. The atmosphere is one that reminds me of an old-school diner, similar to "Denny's Diner," and the staff are extremely friendly and accommodating. There was so much for me to choose from on the menu that I really struggled to decide what to order. Ultimately, I went with the vegan omelette and did not regret it. My boyfriend is not a vegan, and he was able to order regular breakfast food; he also enjoyed his meal and asked to go back the next day. Thank you, Veggie Galaxy, for providing breakfast options that everyone can enjoy. I know that plant-based ingredients can be more expensive and can be difficult for a restaurant to incorporate when on a budget. I appreciate you for taking the risk and going above and beyond with your selections. I wish there were a Veggie Galaxy in Maine. Until then, I will plan to frequent this spot each time I visit the area. :)

Classic comfort food, with a vegan (or vegetarian) twist! Portion size is great, considering the pricing. The vegan Mac N Stac tasted great, but was almost overkill so I think I'll try for something simpler next time. The menu is clearly labeled so it's easy to find options that fit your needs. Great for your traditional diner fix!

DISCLAIMER: I am not a veggan or vegetarian That being said I still enjoyed the food. It is a little messy depending on what you get. The food is ready quick and has a wide selection of dishes.

This place is amazing! I love a well themed restaurant and Veggie Galaxy's diner theme is so cute. I love the aesthetic and the drawings! I shared some fried pickle chips. I usually don't like pickles but the fatty friedness paired with the sour pickle tang worked wonders. I also got the baked Mac n cheese with vegan cheese, and it was delicious. It almost tasted like barbeque. The portion was pretty big too! I left happy!

Every time I visit the customer service is exceptional, greeted with a kind smile by the host before I go in. My second visit I ordered the chicken and waffles & am so happy I did. The third time I dined in, the server suggested i ordered the blue plate special of the day and it was chicken parmigiana cutlets with a side of zucchini spaghetti, It was so fn good! I’m obsessed with the food here so far and also the amazing service! I was lucky to have Elizabeth serve me two times in a row, they have the best service such great energy and recommendations every time I ask. Thanks y’all!!! Can’t wait to be back!

Veggie Galaxy never disappoints, and that includes during a pandemic. They have done an incredible job safely reopening for take out and their staff are always so incredibly kind and friendly. This evening I noticed there was a heart drawn next to my name on the takeout bag. Sweet little details like this (and so many others!!) sets Veggie Galaxy apart from other restaurants. It’s amazing that they always have such enthusiasm AND such delicious vegan food. Veggie Galaxy is my absolute favorite restaurant in Boston.

Fun vegetarian/vegan diner in Central Square. Huge portion sizes. Highly recommend the meatball marinara sub. Nashville hot chicken was pretty good but the chicken patty texture is just ok (similar to Morningstar). It can get really busy at dinner time.

I’ve been meat free for almost 30 years and vegan for about 20 of them. I can say hands down had some of the BEST vegan food of my life here. I’m literally at the airport heading back to Phoenix right now. But had to go back to Veggie Galaxy 4 times during what was my first ever visit to Boston. The Buffalo Mac and cheese was amazing, the turtle cheesecake, amazing. The blueberry 🫐 pancakes amazing. Everything we had there was great! There was a wait every time we went, but whatever the wait is, it’s worth it.

Excellent bakery - you wouldn't even know it was vegan. Food is meant to be like "diner food". Interestingly, Veggie Galaxy was the sister restaurant of Veggie Planet (which closed several years ago not from lack of patrons and fans, but by choice), which had the best pizza I've ever tasted. Any chance Veggie Galaxy could put that on their menu???

Super fun vegan/vegetarian diner with friendly and servers who helped me navigate the menu so as not to accidentally order anything I’m allergic to (coconut and mushroom allergies are a pain for a vegetarian). All the food I’ve tried here has been tasty BUT as with regular diner food, I still usually feel kind of gross afterwards. Worth it every once in a while though!

Best of the best. Friendliest and most responsible staff I've seen during COVID. Love the food, its amazing.

The peanut chocolate cake is AWESOME - some of the best cake anywhere. But make sure to get it fresh. Have also enjoyed some of their other bakery items and cakes. In terms of food - especially the breakfast food, it is fine. Nice option when you are craving a plant based breakfast fry up in Boston area, but I wouldn't say it's the best I've ever had outside of Boston.

Absolutely fantastic! Visiting from Austin TX and was delighted to stop in here again! A must try! Especially the Mac n cheese bites!

More life veggie heaven. I will gladly drive an hour to Cambridge to indulge in some veg/vegan goodness. I've never had poutine before, I've eaten plant based since I was 10, and when I saw it on the menu I knew I had to have it. It was amazing. I also had a veggie Ruben sandwich. Outta this world, so good 🤤 I wish I could give 10 stars. I love you Veggie Galaxy!

This is our favorite vegan place in Boston! We are here visiting and had a feast last night and we enjoyed it so much we came back for breakfast today! The parfait was amazing - have never had a vegan parfait like this! And the apple pie was just perfect. Highly recommended for vegans and non-vegans alike!

I love this place I drive an hour plus just to get there all the way from New Hampshire because we don't have nearly the amount of vegan options that Cambridge alone has i would die to have this quality of food and selection nearby but for now this is a very good special occasion option and is worth the drive, this is a perfect restaurant to take a date to it also is a perfect restaurant to introduce friends who ask you why you are vegan and learn exactly how diverse your palette can be.

Good lord the vegan broccoli cheddar soup had me orbiting in the stars, my tastebuds were on a trip through the milky way with each bite (dairy free of course). If I could eat one thing everyday until my last trip around the sun, you bet your sweet bippy I would choose this bowl of broccoli studded sunshine. 10/10 would recommend

The tzitziki brings the gyro together. You may ask, what is lamb seitan? Its made from gluten, flavored to taste like lamb and is a great meat substitute. Don't worry guys, the seitan has protein, maybe not as much as meat but still a good amount. If you don't believe me, please google it. The potatoe salad was delicious.

Had to wait a hour and a half for cold food that made me sick. They got my phone number wrong, and they were rude to both my wife and I. The food tasted amazing, but will not be returning

Food is good, but they open whenever they want. Bad business practice.

My favorite veggie spot in the Boston area. The Kendall square black bean burger is the best I've ever had. Great late-night spot for desserts as well.

Amazing selection of vegan options for food. All day breakfast and flat out delicious. You have to order ahead and pickup due to pandemic rules, but its well worth it for vegans and omnivores alike.

Had the opportunity to eat at Veggie Galaxy recently, and it was so delicious! Staff are so welcoming and friendly. The menu had so many great options, it was difficult to choose one. I had the vegan (South) Western Avenue omelette. It was great! Portions are large and food is fresh. Fried pickles also amazing! Highly recommend :-)

Best restaurant we've ever tried and we've been all over. So addictive. Everything is just amazing. Best cheesecake and burgers the world has ever seen. My only complaint is the specials are always too good to pass up and there is too much amazing stuff on the menu, so it's too hard to not order everything every time. The FOMO is real. Please support this place!

Great vegetarian and vegan diner food. Almost everything can be made vegan. Rotating specials are a great enticer. They always have a variety of vegan desserts to choose from. Does get busy for brunch on the weekends. Kid friendly. You can order full vegan cakes for those special occasions and vegan pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving. Traditional diner atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi.

I enjoyed the food. One thing I didn’t like is the amount of calls and texts I got about my curbside order being ready especially while I’m driving. I was only getting there 20 min after the pickup time and not arriving early was stressed on the website

I love this place! They have a huge menu and everything's been delicious so far. They're also friendly and really fast.

Awesome poutine and green slaw gluten free! Their gluten free pancakes and frappes are awesome as well! My order was ready for takeout in less than 8 minutes! Always safe, tasty, and allergen friendly

  • 5/5 Lisa Y. 3 years ago on Google
We love this place! Food is delicious and everything can be made vegan! They also gave our dog a cookie when we did the curbside pickup! The staff is very friendly!

Love the food here! My favorite is the southwestern breakfast burrito that comes with a side of thyme potatoes. The people here are really polite and they have a really organized curbside pickup option!

Best vegetarian/vegan diner food in the Boston area. They have an extensive menu and excellent appetizers and drinks, and I always get desert to go, even though that's not my M.O.

Excellent food, we will definitely be returning in the future.

👍👍 A Tatte is a Tatte. You know what you're getting into. It's a place with phenomenal vibes and food that feels refined but accessible at the same time. I got a Linzer cookie which tasted tart and sweet, but a little dry as well. I'm forgetting the name of the menu item, but I also got scrambled eggs...
