Got here around 730pm on a Friday and the wait was about an hour long. Thankfully, you're able to grab a drink or two while waiting outside. My favorite was the octopus dish! So tender, amazing flavor, and textures. The fish & chip fish wasn't too oily, which was appreciated. Fresh oysters and friendly staff!

Our waitress Katherine recommended Fanny Bay oysters, they are so fresh! Crab cake and garlic fries are excellent choice too! Service is great. Our waitress is super friendly! Highly recommended. This place is so popular, you need to reserve ahead of time to avoid the wait.

I’ve been here three times and had a good experience every time. They have great happy hour oysters, wines, and more. The oysters was delicious super flavorful and fresh I’d skip the baked oysters it was a little too flavorful for me Mussels and toast was super tasty perfect amount of garlic in the sauce

We missed the happy hour but their regular dinner menu is full of wonderful choices nonetheless. The clam chowder is a must try and the acme bread on its own goes really well with the soup, there is no need for the sweet cream/salt/olive oil dip that come with it. The burger and squid ink pasta were super delicious. I can't wait to come back and try their famous raw oyster selections next time.

Love Forthright!! Their chef is amazing. Not only the regular menu but they always have a couple specials dishes. And of you like oysters, theirs are great. The burger is the old standby. Also can’t go wrong with the mussels. Crab cake amazing. Shrimp and grits if you like creole flavor. And curious or bread pudding for dessert! There’s more goodies but can’t name everything! Pro tip: happy hour.

Awesome happy hour menu with delicious oysters. It seems that the oysters on the happy hour special change so you can try something new every time. The menu as a whole looks delicious so I'm looking forward to returning and trying more. Thee staff is very attentive and friendly and we had a great time

Late review because I dined in on Fathers day, but I’d have to say the food we ordered was pretty good! Very important: best fresh oysters I’ve ever gotten beside Marshall Store in Point Reyes. Obviously its an Oyster Bar and the oysters is a must have so please please order it. The service was good even though some of our drinks and the oysters came a little later than usual. It was no biggie as it was fathers day so of course its busy. We had patio dining because of our dogs so I’m happy that its dog friendly :)

A good place to go out with friends. Not overly crowded but a cozy atmosphere. Food tastes okay compared to the price point but service is quick. Many varieties of oysters are available and appropriately priced.

The food is great Some of the dishes are a bit salty for my taste. The toasts on the mussles are very good and the waitress is super friendly. She offers to give us a refill on the toasts when we are thinking whether to get extra bread or not. The tropical favored beer is very interesting. The frozen wine we ordered never got to be frozen, so we didn't get a chance to try it. The atmosphere is very relaxing and cheerful!

Forthright is always a great dining experience from the service to the food! The oysters are always so fresh and they have many types of oysters to choose from. The fresh fish crudo rotates between fresh ahi and hamachi or whatever catch is fresh! The quality of fish is so good! My favorites are kale and avocado salad and the squid ink pasta! The chowder and acme bread with the ricotta are also good! Don’t forget to order cocktails they’re super fresh and we’ll balanced. Go during happy hour!

Love this oyster bar when I’m visiting Campbell. Unfortunately, it’s not open on Mondays when I’m up there working. Kind of expensive overall, but so fresh and delicious oysters.

Extremely solid place with great indoor seating and ambiance! We came here for happy hour at 5 and enjoyed the happy hour oysters a ton and got 16 of them total! They tasted extremely fresh and were very flavorful. We also got the clam chowder cup which was small but really tasty as well. Some of the dishes we also enjoyed were the baked oysters which weren’t as good as the raw ones and also the seafood pasta and shrimp and grits. I liked the grits more - they were more unique too. The bread was extremely solid as well and the ricotta cheese in the olive oil gave the whole dish a nice kick. The service was amazing and attentive as well, and we were seated quickly indoors. Would come again!

This is such a great place to come out and eat at if you’re into oysters and seafood. I came in here during Happy Hour where I received great value, $1.75 an oyster which is a steal. The menu is rather small but that’s alright since we ordered nearly everything ranging from the steamed mussels to the HH taco to the heavenly crab cake, it was all so delicious. My favorite had to be the crab cake however, it’s fresh and hot so if you come here, make sure to order at least one of these. Overall, a great place with wonderful food and nice atmosphere. I’ll be sure to return.

Good place to get a fresh variety of oysters. Nice selection of fresh fish (crudo, ceviche) and a nice-ish atmosphere (too loud)

Got picked up from SJC, then went straight here for the HH oysters and drinks. Our friends regularly come here and made reservations! (Yay) It really hit the spot. The HH oysters were from BC, Cortes Island. Everyone started off with a Sip and Slurp. Which was a glass of house bubbles and 3 hh oysters for $12. Ordered mussels, clams, extra bread, fries, clam chowder, tacos. It’s a great spot for happy hour!

Happy hour at Forthright is awesome and I love that they start at 2PM on Fridays! Best place for oysters in the South Bay. Great selection and prices. Make sure you ask for the hot sauce, one drop with a squeeze of lemon is the best!

Food is okay but overpriced for the portion. We felt their food had fancy names but we could easily cook it at home with not much effort. We can tell by looking at the pictures of other customers posted, they don't keep the consistency in the plating or the portions. Ceviche tuna (I forgot the "fancy name") and salmon wings were good, but the pork chop was dry, we felt the other plates were not full meal, some of us were hungry after dinner, so we grabbed some fast food after that. Staff attentiveness is fine but none of them offered to refill kids drink. We always check the bathroom's cleanliness and we believe this is one of the determinations of the kitchen cleanliness. The bathroom didn't look very clean. I usually check bathrooms 3 times: -at the beginning-wash up -middle-after entree -right before we leave. There were lots of staff working there that evening. The bathroom looked the same when I used the third time. This is the picture after I put a few papers in the garbage can off the floor.

Excellent clam chowder and friendly staff, but one qualm: I know oysters aren't known for being cheap, but what you get with the butter roasted oysters isn't worth the $17, IMO.
