The meals were great. Portion for the chicken Supreme was great, the flavors excellent. The Bisson was tasty and the ribeye was well done and tender. I give the place a 6 star on flavour, 4 star on portion size, 5 for plating and 5 for service. The dessert was exceptional. Taste was great, black forest cake was so moist and tasty with the crunch, the ice-cream was excellent. The place and taste spot on. Please give my compliments to the chef who worked the evening of Father's day.

Went to a Christmas party last week w work and had to come here and rave about the Lakehouse in Lake Bonavista. Amazing food, atmosphere, and service! I had the lamb and it was so tender and full of flavor I ate it way faster then I should of lol. Hubs had the beef and it was even better. Didn't have a chance to try the artic char but it was beautiful. Our server was on the ball no one ever had an empty drink, and if you needed anything she was on it. The management was amazing to work with. If you haven't tried them you really should and the view of the lake, wow! No one left unhappy or hungry last night. I'll6 also mention that since its not DT you can leave your car there over night and not break the bank in parking fees

Had our wedding here just last week. Went through a series of choices for a venue and this was the first one we saw out of the potential 5 we also chose as our options. It's not that we just went with the first one cause we didn't want to go and see the other places, it was love at first sight and we knew that this was the best venue to hold our event. We've reached out to Kirsten back in 2021 to plan a wedding for 2022 but we weren't able to finalize anything and couldnt prioritize our planning at the moment. I got in touch with her sometime in 2023 and reached out to Kirsten to help us again with ease despite getting a booking 6-7 months prior to the event. We were very happy with the food tastings as it helped us create a menu for our guests and not a lot of people knew that this place existed. Because of our wedding, people want to come back to dine in as they raved about how great their meals are. I've already planned to come back to take my wife to have dinner here as this place will forever hold a special place in our heart. These 5 stars are not because I was told to leave them a review. I'm going out of my way to leave this review because their staff and the food were exceptional. Thank you again to Kirsten Davies and the Lake House staff. You guys were amazing!!

It's a bit of a weird feeling driving towards a fine dining restaurant located beside a Safeway and questioning whether you're being directed to the right place. I went to this restaurant with a few others to try out their NYE 5 course meal. The meal was $100/person but it was worth every dollar. Everyone was almost full by the time the fourth course was brought out, so it was really high value for what you pay for. Each dish was nicely balanced and nicely plated. The restaurant atmosphere is nice and cozy with warm lighting. Unfortunately you don't get the nice view of the lake when you dine in the middle of winter. Will definitely be coming back in the summer to enjoy both the wonderful food and the scenery!

Great experience with colleagues at the Lake House. The steak was perfect and the staff wonderful. A prime location to organize your work events. A solid 4.5 stars for that special evening.

Very pleasant atmosphere, not very busy at lunch. Nice setting at table, safe distanced. Attentiveness and polite service. Delicious meals, surprisingly big portions, balanced menu choices, huge selection of wines. Latte tasty and good pairing with deserts. Surprising water served European style- at cost. That includes hot water resquested!😁.

High end dining without the pretentiousness. The Lake House is a classic establishment that has kept up with the times. Both of our meals were incredible, and the service was fantastic. Our waiter even gave us a little tasting glass of wine to pair with our dinner without us even saying anything. Really enjoyed our time and will certainly be back.

Came for dinner for our Anniversary. The food was excellent. I think the flavours and combinations are very creative and hats off to the chef. Our server was very friendly. They did forget our appetizer but the desert was free to make up for it. The view on the patio rivals the quality of the food. I would definitely return again. Would be 5 stars if not for the app.

Great evening with a few caveats to be mindful of. What we liked: the view of the lake is stunning. We were lucky to have a waterfront table outside, which gave an amazing summer feeling. The service was attentive, helpful and fast. The food was good quality. Now the caveats: 1) the moment it became clear that we wouldn’t order any alcoholic beverages, it felt as if the service quality deteriorated. 2) the food is quite pricey for what you get - e.g., the bison was rather dry, the tomato salad v small… I will still come back for the location, but important to be aware that not everything is perfect.

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food and great service. We dined here for lunch and had a lovely table on the patio overlooking the Lake. The beef and bison burger was super tasty! I look forward to trying other dishes on the menu! This place is perfect for a special occasion or just a nice lunch out!

My fiancée and I had a great dining experience here on a Friday night. We snaged a reaveration online and had arrived a few minutes early. Our server was attentive and helpful with the menu. This was a good recon mission for us to explore this location as a potential wedding venue. Including photos of our meal and the current menu. To start I had the soup, a cauliflower soup and the Fiancée had the Romain salad. For our mains we went with the Lamb and the sirloin. All the dishes were great. Complementary bread dish to start things off.

Service was phenomenal. Darcy was engaging and attentive all evening. The oysters were the freshest I've had in Calgary and the crab Fettuccine was flavourful without being too heavy. Steak was a perfect medium rare and the scallops were seared just right.

We had an amazing Anniversary date at The Lake house tonight! We were sat right at the windows overlooking the lake and provided with Prosecco to celebrate our special dinner. What an amazing venue with a great view! Its a beautiful restaurant with very nice decor. Looking out to the lake provides a calming ambiance. Our server Darcy was friendly, informative and fun. He really took care of us, suggesting their best dishes, wines, cocktails and beers. All of his suggestions were on point. We ordered the small charcuterie platter, Rib Eye, the Tuna, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Gin and Tonic Cake, the Purple Rain Cocktail, Born to Rum cocktail, Foam Espresso Martini as well as wine, beer and a fine brandy. All of the dishes and drinks exceeded expectations. The flavours were refined, with great contrasting textures and beautiful presentation. Its hard to narrow down my favourite, but the Sticky Toffee Pudding with the banana ice cream paired so well with the brandy, I thought I was in heaven. We really had an amazing evening here, and just wish we had the time to experience the other dishes. The Happy Anniversary chocolate plaque was so thoughtful! Thank you Darcy and all the Lake House staff, we will return!

Best dinner experience we’ve had in a long time. The service, the food, the atmosphere all amazing top of the line. Even if I tried to complain about even one thing there would be none.

Gorgeous views of the lake from inside the restaurant. The food was tasted amazing and was perfectly cooked. We had PEI Mussels and Frites for the starter, Duo of Alberta Lamb and Peppercorn Crusted Beef Ribeye for main, and Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert The tables were all spaced out and more than 6 feet apart. The staff was attentive and knew when to leave you alone.

UPDATE: have been back several more times and every single. Meal has been delicious! This was our first time eating at Lake House. It was for my wife's birthday. Great atmosphere and view. Only wish we came while the sun was up because based on what I can see, the view of Lake Bonavista is awesome. Food was delicious. The server had the food expedited as he saw that we had little ones. He was wonderful and made evening that much better. He had recommended the PEI Mussels and fries. Great sauce and crispy fries! We shared a ribeye which was flavorful and the cod which was actually my favorite dish of the night.

An incredible evening all around. Having not been to the "Inn" since the 90's I was delighted to find a beautifully updated atmosphere that's signature CRMR. The menu reflects this same style. Adequate checking for vaccines at entrance and all staff masked up. Thoughtful dishes, seasonal ingredients and complex pairings. Loved the option for a half bottle of sancerre, Chablis, others. Makes it easy when dining with diverse groups. Enjoyed several appetizers - oysters, mussels and charcuterie. Table bread was a little tough and nothing special. Mains included wild mushroom risotto, bison, lamb, steal head and duck. All prepared perfectly, tasted fresh and had those fabulous sauces we've come to love from CRMR chefs over the years. Personally loved the potato dauphinoise, similar to a galatte but less fussy. And the juniper berry reduction was a nice way to welcome the season. Our server was fabulous, but busy (private event might've been an issue but shouldn't effect the review). She was attentive, thoughtful and maintained all aspects of service. Only criticism would be the dessert selection. Was day 1 of new menu so perhaps they'll expand, but cooler weather brings bigger appetites and we probably all would have ordered if there was something notable. Overall, a wonderful evening enjoying fabulous and thoughtful plates. Thank you for everything.

Excellent food, good service and pleasant decor and setting. I had the halloumi cheese, which was new to me, and very tasty. Each of my companions that tried it also loved it. The restaurant is accessible and has an elevator, but it is not straightforward to use. You must keep the elevator button pressed continuously to fetch the elevator, and once inside, to get it to go up or down. The interior of the elevator is just large enough for a power wheelchair, so once you enter, the best option is for your companion to use the stairs and then summon the elevator to the destination floor.

Unique experience of dining with amazing lake view. Can't say, however, many compliments for food. I did not really like salmon with beans (was too dry) and burger was average, plus fish cuts didn't taste like anything. But broccoli soup was tasty. Anyways, with a little bit more variety and choice of food this restaurant could have been the best in town.

My wife treated me on my birthday. The place is very cozy, service was excellent, food was great and price is very reasonable for a steak house. I would highly recommend them. A must try in Calgary!

We came here for our anniversary because we wanted to celebrate with something a little nicer now that we can afford it. Amazing experience! Our waiter Darcy was fantastic (I would ask for him by name if you can). The atmosphere was perfect for the setting we were looking for. The food was amazing, the service was even better than I could have hoped for and we really enjoyed our custom cocktails. If you’re on the fence about The Lake House DON’T BE! Pop in, ask for Darcy and enjoy an amazing meal.

Shout out to Erica who went above and beyond at our team building dinner last night. One of our team members experienced a health problem at dinner and Erica and her staff took full control of the matter comforting and watching over our colleague until EMS arrived. Excellent consideration and care! Well done Erica and Lake House staff!

Hidden gem! We've been coming for our anniversary dinner for the last 10 years. It never disappoints. The food, atmosphere and service are all incredible. They were even able to work with my wife's allergies. 11/10!

Our company has had their Xmas party here for as long as I can remember. Always great food. Staff are friendly and atmosphere is classy but not so formal that it's "snooty"

The views were great, service was friendly but slow. The food was average. We got the lobster tortellini, which consisted of pasta wrap that was way too thick and doughy. The scallops and langoustine dish was ok, however the langoustine was very bland and the batter wasn't very crispy. The sablefish was very fresh and buttery which was more of a compliment to the fish than the chef because the accompaniments to the fish were forgetable. To top off the experience, I've been parked in the washroom since we got home from the restaurant.

Went to celebrate a birthday. Service was attentive. Two of us ate off the kids menu and the kids, 10 and 8, enjoyed their meals (only 3 choices on this menu, though). My wife shared a charcuterie platter and found it very good and filling. She also liked her kale salad. I had the ribeye with Yorkshire pudding, done as requested. Excellent food and service. What more can you ask?
