Tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago and I really enjoyed my meal here. We got the platter which had all the fixings and it was amazing. Portion was good for the price and the food was delicious. Service is good and the place itself looks very homey and traditional. I would definitely come back again.

I adore this restaurant..been coming for the last 7 years..i always get fast, friendly service, and delicious food. The Veslo brothers have always been very nice to me. Everything on the menu is delicious 😍 but i usually get the karadjordjeva schnitzel dinner..😋 yummy!

Veslo is a hidden gem. They are a family-owned restaurant with European food and large portions. The sausages and schnitzel were delicious. Beer selection was authentic. Definitely get a different vibe than most restaurants but the service is prompt.

Tried it for the first time and WOW was blown away with how delicious every morsel was!! Got the platter for 2 and demolished the whole thing between my husband and I, it was THAT GOOD! Every single thing on the plate was tasty, with so much flavour. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. We can't wait to go back!

Running away from a terrible university event, we decided to try this restaurant and it rescued our weekend from getting ruined! The Gypsy Schnitzel and the plum brandy tasted amazing. Lepina bread with Chevapi, the buttery sour cream, and the perfectly-fried fries were also a joy in every bite. We were excited to experience so many new, great flavors in one setting. Although the restaurant was popular and quite small, we arrived in a quiet time and were able to be seated quickly. They had a very nice patio with brand new benches and young pine-like trees. The service was quick and super friendly. We are convinced to be back many more times!

Family owned restaurant that simply deliver a 5 star meals on consistent trip after trip. Restaurant is small however it provides a unique family atmosphere. Owners are friendly and willing to make sure your experience is enjoyable and meal is delicious. I couldn't recommend a single dish since all are great but if you have to start with one, try "Karadjordjeva". I've been dining monthly for last 3 years and will co to use to do so. A must try!

Really really good European food. Specialty is pork schnitzel, but everything is delicious! The fried potatoes are out of this World! Order to table in less than 15 mins, our 2 plates plus the bread and a glass of wine was $46 w tax inc

Went with a group of 10 including children. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Schnitzel was crispy and tasty. Potatoes were phenomenal. The salad was so fresh and the lepina bread 👍🏾! Great service.

Was expecting more 😔As a girl from East Europe, I know what to expect. From the menu have tried Serbian salad(eastern Europe typical vegetable salad), it was super nice maybe a bit too much salt. As well soup Ghoulash, was a good quality, but too spicy…my lips was burning 🔥🥵Half less pepper and it would be perfect. As well custard cream pie, a bit more sugar next time, and not so soft 🫠cream, would make it a better pie. 🙏🏼

I visited Veslo Family Restaurant for lunch. It was my first time dining here. We ordered two large Hunter schnitzel meals and one large Gypsy schnitzel meal. The meals were huge! The schnitzel was cooked to perfection. The potatoes were the best I've ever had. I will definitely come again soon. Our server Alek was great. Anyone wanting great Serbian food, eat here. You will enjoy and want to return.

Some restaurants offer people food, some buildings offer warmth and some people share a culture. Though Im from a different part of Europe, the Hunter schnitzel among all Veslo's dishes put you in a European countryside restaurant with great food, a beautiful location and authentic culture. Keep it that way!

The food at Veslo is excellent along with the great service. We got the platter for two and it was way more than we could eat. Was delicious the next day for lunch. Very popular with return customers. Keep up the good work!

Restaurant followed all COVID guidelines, staff and customers remained apart, and everyone wore PPE. Highly impressed with how they handled it. Straight forward homecooked meal with amazing value. In my opinion, the perfect example of a family run restaurant. Perfectly clean washrooms. Cheers!

Great surprise find when visiting Waterloo. Had a great lunch, and my first try of casual Serbian food.

Veslo is a brilliant neighborhood restaurant that specializes in traditional Serbian and Balkan food. The food is simple and very delicious. I had the goulash soup, lepinja bread with cheese, and Vienna schnitzel -- all were excellent. I recommend the lepinja bread and I would say the schnitzel is the best in town, unseating some of my long standing favorites. Dining in is low key and comfortable. Outdoor seating is available on a covered patio. Service is prompt and courteous. Easy parking.

I have introduced this place to numerous friends and relatives and so far everyone have enjoyed their food.

Continues to be our go to for schnitzel in Waterloo region. From the salad to the dinner platters and the homemade desserts our meals are always terrific. This local business is truly a great find. Food is fresh, portions are a good size (small schnitzel is a good size, go with large if you are really hungry). Homemade potatoes are excellent, lightly seasoned making a nice side.

I have been to Veslo Family Restaurant about 2 or 3 times and I absolutely loved it! It is a very small, homey place filled with many booths to sit in. The staff is very friendly and makes you feel at home. The food is very tasty, and you don't have to wait that long to get what you have ordered.

The trips our party of 4 does to St. Jacobs, the main street and her Market has always proved to be a Great trip we've shared with Family and friends and would highly recommend. And to this in mind we all wanted Schnitzel and were willing to travel to Kitchener/Waterloo to get it- after looking up the best Schnitzel Houses - Veslo Family Restaurant popped-up near to our location and when we arrived at what looked like a residential neighbourhood with a "I'm not sure patio" beside its parking lot-the saying-don't judge a book by its cover- comes to mind and again proves it self to be a truly wise adage. In all fairness we came real early for dinner cause we did 14,000 plus steps and we were famished. Well this restaurant is family run - an exceptional cook disguised as this restaurants Mother with her 2 sons. The one son didn't know what to make of us, ordering beer with a wedge of lime and appeared at first to be distracted and not attentive-well we were early-4:30- But when the beer came and we ordered our Schnitzels-2 with tomato sauce and 2 with mushrooms, onions and gravy, he caught his breath and forged through. The Schnitzels were Heaven on Earth, Mama had a recipe that a Michelin star critic would appreciate...WoW was this good, really good. I had to ask our waiter-her son- if it would be OK to tell her personally-Yes and I did. I can't tell you how much she and her sons appreciated this ovation and I really mean it---Thank-you for this culinary treasure and experience. Both sons were there and both would make any mother proud....remember to bring your own lime, just in case. Your appetite and demand for taste will be met absolutely.

We ordered from Veslo Family Restaurant tonight, for the first time. We ordered pick up for 5pm. At 5pm, our order was ready to go. Omg! It was good! The Vienna schnitzel was perfectly cooked and huge! The coleslaw was unique. It must be a blend of regular cabbage and sauerkraut mixed together in perfect harmony. It accompanied the schnitzel perfectly. I enjoyed the fried potatoes, as well. I strongly recommend Veslo’s for your schnitzel cravings!

Haven't actually eaten in the restaurant due to Covid but we have ordered a few times. The food is fantastic!! The schnitzel is huge! Best in town by far! Everything we have ever ordered has been delicious...and the portions are great! Very friendly when I picked up the food and always ready when they say it will be ready. You have to try this place!

My spouse and I stopped in for an early dinner on a Friday just after social distancing protocol allowed for outdoor/patio dining. We sat at a comfortable table which was well distanced from several other diners. We both ordered a large schnitzel dinner and my spouse had a salad as an appetizer. The food was served hot and tasted delicious. Our server was friendly and engaging and very attentive.

This is a great restaurant we ordered Hunter Schnitzel (they put the sauce on the side for me) and a Caesar salad for takeout (darn covid). The food was delicious and the owners are such nice people. i love this place have been there many times when we were able to enjoy dining inside.

Bought their homemade chicken soup and it has absolutely no chicken no vegetables very tiny noodles it's not a proper chicken noodle soup. I think this is lower quality than you get at a homeless shelter. I paid $15 with Uber eats to get this.

We tried Veslo Family Restaurant for the first time and are sad we didn’t try it sooner! We had the platter for 2 and it was incredible. Huge portion size and everything was top quality. It truly feels like you are eating in a family home. We can’t wait to eat here again!

This is a must try. The food here is so tasty. Our table shared the platter and salad and everything tasted so good. We didn’t leave with any leftovers because we just wanted to keep eating everything while it was warm and freshly made. The restaurant is small but has plenty of charm. We were there for a late lunch so we had the restaurant to ourselves for the majority of our visit. That being said, the service could have been slightly more attentive to us. Once the restaurant had a few more diners come in, the server did come by more. Overall, a great experience and will return again.

This is a little hidden gem in Kitchener. The location might seem a little odd to some as it's in a residential area. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for authentic tasting schnitzel. The food is very tasty, the portion size is incredible. If you order the large be prepared to have leftovers! The potatoes are also delicious. They do have other good options in some salads, and the chicken fingers are very good. Service is always fast and hot! Give them a try!

Absolutely love it here! Food is delicious and service is great. We normally get the combo platter for 2 so we can have a few different items we really enjoy.

We went as a family and enjoyed a relaxed atmosphere with excellent food and service. We had the platter - it is a lot of meat so be ready to eat! The coleslaw was my favourite. Service was likewise relaxed but attentive.

This is our go-to restaurant whenever we have something to celebrate. Awesome schnitzel and lots of different ways to serve it. The rolled Karađorđeva schnitzel is one of my favorite dishes on the planet! You can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Our entire experience at Veslo was top notch. Wish we could go all the time. The schnitzel was light and crispy and delicious. The potato fries are some of the best fries we have had anywhere. The service was very respectful and warm and helpful. Also, love that it is family owned and family run!

Tried take out during covid19 and the service and prices were great! Schnitzel was good and servings were HUGE for large size option. The hunter sauce on the schnitzel was not great but not bad, so 4 instead of 5 stars. Next time we'll try the gypsy option. Great home fry nuggets too btw. Give them a try. Better than the Metro, which has changed ownership and maybe recipes, and is way too salty... Try Veslo instead!

Great food, wonderful staff

Accidently stumbled upon this place when my dad very specifically requested he wanted schnitzel and a greek salad, we got the platter for 2 and a greek salad of course and the intention was that it was going to be all for my parents but I was able to get a full meal from their platter and it's the best food I've had in awhile, will be back forsure. My mom said it reminded her of her omas cooking, love love love!

Went to pick up my order and none of the staff including those cooking in the kitchen were wearing masks/shields/gloves. When questioned about it all they had to say was what was your payment method for the refund? We usually really like their food and were appalled at their lack of concern and health protocols during the lockdown phase of COVID-19.

Excellent menu options. First experience and we loved it. Food was hot and fresh. Very large portions great value for the buck. Very friendly staff eger to serve you. Can't wait for are next visit. Definitely worth checking out.

The food was served hot and tasted delicious. Our server was friendly and engaging and very attentive. We shared a dessert that was recommended by our server who said that it was prepared in house. There was a steady stream of customers stopping in to pick up orders to take home.

I'm originally from Croatia so I wanted to treat my Canadian husband with some authentic food. Our kids being used to fast food opted for fried chicken but my eldest surprised me by ordering Karageorge schnitzel. Hubby and I explored the food. I ordered Shopska salad and hubby had some kind of roast meat dish, I forgot now. Everything tasted yummy. The service was great. The waiter was attentive. We vowed to be back and so far we did not make the trip up there from Cambridge. Now everything is in lockdown but I remember this place and hope it will survive the quarantine.

the friendliest staff you could ask for, and very good food for good prices. my stepdad used to be a fairly regular customer here, and when we visited after he passed away in 2018, one of the employees paid for our meals for us. it was a very kind gesture and we appreciated it very much. best schnitzel place in town!

We stopped here for lunch while passing through the area. The food was excellent, easily some of the best schnitzel that I have had while out at a restaurant. The food was brought out quickly and the waiter was good at appearing when we needed something. The patio had a relaxed feel to it.
