I'm shocked at the rating (4.2 at time of writing) as I just finished a meal from here and it was terrible. The chicken chow mein had slices of something that resembled chicken but tasted nothing like it. Rubbery chew strips. The sweet and sour pork had a tasty sauce, but the pork was so tough and dry it was a challenge to eat. I also ordered deep fried wontons and was disappointed... There was a tiny piece of meat wrapped in a large wonton. They charged over $7 for six, so I assumed it would be more substantial. I'm not sure where these reviews are coming from about best in PG, but I there is better Chinese food from a food court.

I cannot believe how much I love Good Chef! Once again, we arrived and were greeted with enthusiasm and a feeling if "home". We ordered our drinks and food and had very little wait time. Food was amazing! If you are looking for a place that serves large portions but doesn't charge you and arm and a leg, go to GOOD CHEF.

The scallops and beans were tasty but the scallops weren't fresh. Map tofu was spicy and was good but too much salty. Soup dumplings are not handmade. The Soup dropped down under the steam dish to the table.

Absolutely best Chinese (3b) and sushi (cali roll)!! Had delivered and was hot, fresh and came faster then quoted! Yum!!

There were 3 waitresses serving 4 tables, it took 30 mins to get refreshments...AFTER I reminded them we ordered them. Food came cold...chicken was odd (?) Not sure it was chicken. Waitresses were far too busy with takeout orders to deal with customers eating in...I will not be back

Good Chef has been the best Chinese restaurant I have found in Prince George since moving here for university. The food is flavorful, reasonably priced, and quickly made. I ordered beansprout chowmein and two springrolls, both of which were very good. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant looked very clean inside (I ordered takeout however). I would recommend Good Chef to anyone looking for some decent Chinese food in Prince George.

Update: I've visited this restaurant both for dine-in and takeout options a few times since my initial review. The 5 star rating is still warranted. Their food, service, and quality of experience in the restaurant is what I would define as one of the best Asian cuisine experiences that can be found in Prince George, BC. Initial review: I've been wanting to try this place out forever and finally found my way in there today. I'm so glad I did. My coworkers rave about it, and I can see why. The portions are very generous and the food was amazing. Great, friendly and prompt customer service. The honey garlic chicken was the best thoney garlic chicken I've ever had...the sauce is amazing!

I've had Chinese food that makes you feel like you ate a ton of sugar and you get the fast food feeling when you eat it. This restaurant is not the case. It was the healthiest Chinese food I ever had. Felt like I had energy after eating it and felt really good. Tons of veggies very clean looking and doesn't taste packed with sugar. Almost tasted like there wasn't a ton of GMOs in it either. Veggies were very fresh. Super impressed will be going back. Thank you Good Chef for living up to your name. You really are the Good Chefs in town. ^

Came for the Dim sum, this is a review on that and not their other options. Good, but not great and on the expensive side for quality provided. I really wanted it to be good, as I am a big fan, but if you go in thinking it will compete with the establishments in Vancouver/Victoria you are going to be very disappointed, like I was. Not one dish was bad, but nothing stood out as delicious either. The riblets were too salty to finish. I still can't decide if I'll go back.... or stick to the frozen stuff they sell at the international store. Bubble tea was great.

Did a pick up online order. Said it would be 45 minutes. Called me after 30 minutes letting me know my order was ready. All food tasted fresh and hot when I got home.

Had a dinner for 1. Was disappointed with the beef chop suey as the beef wasn't trimmed properly and included considerable gristle. Also, the deep fried prawns seemed to be 100% batter and no prawn. Not likely that I'll reorder from this restaurant.

Best Chinese food I've had since coming to Prince George from Vancouver. Myself and my two friends are all from Vancouver and wanted dim sum, the internet said this was the best place and we weren't disappointed. Although some of it is a bit different from what we are used to we were all happy with the flavours and textures. I would recommend the place for sure.

Good Chef never disappoints. The food is always good. The sweet and sour pork is usually larger, redder and sweeter, and the chop suey was a little broccoli heavy, but everything was still fresh, tasty and hot. The restaurant is always clean and well-maintained, but could use some more atmosphere. Overall, a good place to go in Prince George for Chinese food.

This place seemed fine at first. But then I got the bill. $21.95 for ginger beef? It was maybe 8 dollars worth of beef, at best. Our side of rice was forgotten for a 2 year old. Had to ask for it. We also had to grab our own menus. Wouldn't recommend. Save your money.

I live around the corner and this is my favorite take out spot when working late and looking for a quick dinner! Amazing food every time, great hot and sour soup and nigiri sashimi, never had a fish taste in any piece of raw fish everything tastes fresh. One of the hidden gems in prince George and very friendly staff!

I always enjoy the food here, and their menu has quite a bit to choose from. Their wonton soup is one of my favorites with the little bit of roast pork and vegetables in it. As well the pork filling isn't over powering like some others I've had. Their sushi and dim sum is also good. But my all time go to is definitely their prawn tempura, soo good!! Probably one of my favorite Chinese or Asian restaurants.
