Trust mi. Food was amazing. I never expected top quality Jamaican food in Thunderbay. I had the stew Chicken with jerk chicken, plantain and festival. The stesm veggies and rice snd peas was done proper. The only drawback, no jerk pork is available on menu. Will definitely recommend...6 stars.

I had the oxtail and this is me finished it cause it’s good. Rice is yummy, I just don’t eat carbs much.

A co worker told me they really liked the food here, so I thought I would give it a try since I really enjoy Caribbean food as well. I was not disappointed. The food was reasonably priced, very good, good portions, and the beautiful young lady that served me was very friendly and polite. I look forward to my next order.

This place has the best Jamaican food I have ever tasted in my life! I tried the Jerk chicken meal and also got a few pieces of their fried chicken to go and man it’s was soo delicious. Food was good! They have a pay it forward board. You can buy a meal for someone ahead of time. Really loved that touch. The lady at the front was very friendly too. Didn't think I'd find good Caribbean food in Thunder Bay. I stand corrected.

Food was dynamite, the service was amazing very friendly , the jerk chicken was one of the best I've had in along time, and the gravy was excellent.. plantains were just right ....highly recommend you come try this place out....

I ordered the Jerk chicken meal with steamed veggies and oxtail sauce. It was nice. I had it for lunch. The chicken was good. The rice portion was pretty great and sufficient. The steamed veggies were done nicely too. I didn't taste the oxtail sauce in my food so I'm pretty sure they must have forgotten to put it on it. Nevertheless, it was a decent meal.

Went to Island Spice for lunch(jerk chicken and stew chicken mixed lunch) food was on point. Decided to also go there for dinner(curry goat). If I could give 6 stars I would. Rice and peas, plantain and festival was proper. They also have ting, ginger beer, d&g soft drinks, peanut punch. They also have snapper and roti on the menu.

This place has THE BEST Jamaican food in Thunder Bay! Their jerk chicken is well seasoned and juicy, not to mention their fried chicken. However, their oxtail is my go to meal. Have you ever heard about seasoned to the bone? That is their food! I love, love, loooovvveee their staff. They are very friendly and give you a warm feeling of home! This is my favorite food stop, especially on the weekends ! You all should try ! #Bigupislandspice!

We ordered the curry chicken and beef patties, they were so good. Lots of flavour in the chicken, rice and veggies, and the beef in the pattie’s had lots of flavour also, in a nice flaky pastry. We were in Negril in February and this might beat some of the food we had there. Very impressed.

A nice little restaurant. I had the chicken curry and it wasn't too spicy. My friend had the fried chicken and lived it. He was beyond excited when he learned there were Red Stripes in the fridge to complete the experience.

I like checking for reviews as much as you do so I leave honest ones! The food here is really good! I tried it a couple times now and the chicken was spiced really good!! The only comment for the owner is to not make the chicken so charred. It kinda takes away the taste from the tasty chicken when you bite into a charred piece(not sure if this is how authentic Jerk suppose to be). But other wise their food is worth trying- the patties too

Absolutely authentically originally delicious. We were coming from Toronto on our way back to Winnipeg Manitoba, and we were searching on line for a place thats serves chicken and island spice came up. I am so glad we decided to go exotic for dinner-WOW!! worth the wait and vegetable patties YUM!

Always get food fairly quickly dine in, their green curry goat is great. Definitely reminds us of our trip to Jamaica going here.

Me and my fiance had the best take out meal we've had in so long! It felt like a genuine home cooked meal! My only regret is not trying this place sooner, the staff was very friendly and they had a great imported soda selection too! I highly recommend you check this amazing restaurant out.

I can’t believe that I have never tried this amazing restaurant before. The food is soooooooo delicious. I tried various meals such as lamb (Curry goat) and fried fish and they taste so yummy. On top of that, the service is amazing and they made me feel at home and so welcomed. LOVED IT AND WILL BRING MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS NEXT TIME.

You HAVE to try the goat curry roti - these are wonderful people with wonderful food. I met the older Jamaican lady and I believe her son. Just awesome, check out the flavor.

Chicken curry stew was great, patties were great and the woman working was very nice and accommodating. Way better than stopping at the chains when passing through town.

Food was hot, fresh and the most flavourful I've had in the city. Staff were friendly, quick, and efficient. Prices are fair for the amount of delicious and healthy food you get. Would recommend to everyone

A great local restaurant. Only a few tables, but it looked like takeout was fast. The oxtail had great flavour and was very tender. The festivals and beef patties are the best I've had so far. Definitely worth a try!

Friendly owners and staff. Amazing food with the right balance of flavour and spice. Generous portions at reasonable prices. Super clean dining environment. Will definitely return next time I'm in town even though it's a bit off my course. It's worth the bit of a detour!
