This is my favourite Chinese restaurant in Ottawa. Before the pandemic, this was one of our regular spots for celebrating (or at the end of a long week). Great family-run establishment, warm and friendly service, delicious food. Order something peppersalt, the general tao chicken, the sizzling stuffed eggplant, the crispy duck, or just about anything else on the menu. You'll feel well taken care of :)

Simply the best Chinese food in town! For many years always consistent in fresh and delicious dishes, the hot and sour soup is phenomenal!!!

Great customer service, food tasted awesome. Portions lasted us a week. Only thing was the soup was a bit too sour, added a bit of sugar and it balanced out. General tao and spicy Tingly beef just as I remembered. Also wished their debit machine had a tip function.

This place is hands THE best Chinese food restaurant in Ottawa. My family and I have been coming to this place since 1994 when a family friend first introduced us to it. The food here is so good that we always measure food from other places and compare it to the food here. The staff is always friendly especially the daughter she also makes sure to try and accommodate us as well every other guests that is dining. We would always come here for special occasions and whenever we would crave it. Last few years we've only gotten take out due to obvious reasons but as soon as it reopens and restrictions are lifted we will be back. I highly recommend this place and I promise you you will not regret it.

Was super excited to try it but was a bit disappointed. Ordered their beef with chinese vegetables on rice and the spicy crispy pork. I thought the flavors for the spicy crispy pork was good, only wish the portion size was a bit bigger since you're paying around $15 for around 7 small chicken wing sized pieces of pork. On the other hand, the beef with vegetables was not good. The rice was hard and stale in several areas, beef was tender but the sauce was a bit hard to swallow. Had a strong starch flavor and was lacking a lot of flavor so it was more like mixing and eating a watered down, soy flavor with strong starchy accents. Will have to try it again, would just avoid the meat on rice dishes. Fried rice dishes would probably be good tho!

Good Food, Good Service. My wife has ordered food from this place from past years (before COVID). Yesterday we ordered some nice tasty dishes. No waits nor hassles. PS: After reading some of these reviews, yes it was sort of true about the lady waitress behavior. I noticed that whenever she's in a good mood she (or them) they can be quite nice, but whenever she's in a not-so-good mood she's rude especially in front of the man (assuming to be the cook). I have witnessed this several years ago. I just simply ignore them so long the food is satisfactory great and great prices. I just go there to pick the orders that my wife places.

The restaurant building is not esthetically pleasing, inside and out...the food however is!!! It is delicious, authentic Asian cuisine. It is a very busy & small restaurant, so best to call in advance to make a reservation. (While we were enjoying our meal, many walk-in customers had to wait as there were no available tables) Service is quick, polite and thorough. Their menu is substantial while very clear and understandable. They have daily specials that are posted on a board for all to see. We browsed the menu, wrote down on the order form what we wanted and then waited for our dishes to arrive. In the meantime, we were served refreshing tea...though we didn't have too long of a wait. As each dish was served, the aromas were so amazing. Not salty, well balanced flavors. Fresh vegetables and gorgeous portions. The General Tao Chicken and the salt and pepper shrimp were absolutely delicious. Everything was. It was such a comfortable supper, very reasonably priced and centrally located with ample parking nearby. A definite 2 thumbs up. #localguide

I loved this place. I have been in other Chinese restaurants in Chinatown, but definitely this one is the best. My family and I had the beef fried rice, beef general tao and the sweet and sour chicken. Portions were well served and the prices were reasonable. If you are craving for Chinese food, this is your place to go. I would recommend this place to any one looking for abundant food and great tastiness.

Great food and great staff. They've been here in Ottawa forever and and have been consistent with their food. Do yourself a favor and order their salt and pepper shrimp! It's best eaten fresh at the restaurant. It's definitely a hidden "treasure" that not a lot of people in Ottawa know about. I hope they continue to be a staple in this city.

I’ve read such good reviews of this place so I thought I would try it as I was alone for dinner. Ordered Uber Eats - one dish - Black Bean Chicken Froed Noodle. When I opened it up, it had beef in it. Not Chicken. I called and spoke to someone who was making excuses that he had 2 new staff and if he had taken the order it would have been correct. He was blaming them and said they were unreliable. In the background I could hear people shouting in their language. The call was very unprofessional. The issue wasn’t resolved. He offered to deliver the correct dish but I was turned off by everything. I gave up. Won’t ever try it again and certainly won’t recommend the restaurant. You never forget a first impression.

Great food, and very helpful staff at this family run restaurant. Extremely generous portions and the food was served piping hot and quickly. Fantastic spring rolls, and the Singapore noodles were a delight. The small hot & sour soup was delicious and enough to feed two, and the beef dish with mushroom and bamboo shoots was equally tasty. We'll definitely be back to sample more dishes.

We ordered a dinner for 2b, the soup was not to our liking, the spring rolls were very greasy. I liked the fried rice but my husband did not as the rice had shrimps. The chicken general Tao tasted like the soup and the spicy beef was just ok, expected more spicy and tasty. It was our first time and likely will not return. Very disappointed.

I've been coming here for years. But lastnight for Christmas Eve, it was just very bad. Fried rice had nothing to it, was much more expensive. General Taos was much much worse I don't know what happened. I hope you can do better next time.

I am disapponted greatly, I order crispy fried noodles with chicken and vegetable. Noodles were not crispy but very soggy. Chicken was bland. I dont think this was their specialty. i have ordered this dish from other places and the noodles always very crispy and delicious. Not here. Big portion but not good. I did not finish the food.

Disappointing. Spicy tingly beef and the kung pao chicken were both in the same disappointing flavourless sauce. Breading for both the beef and chicken was not good at all. Everything tasted exactly the same.

OMG, great food!!! Bought the dinner for 4 and it was more than enough, hot in temperature and tasty. Their spring rolls are to die for. The young lady that took our order was super friendly and called us 20 mins later to tell us our order was ready for pick up. Really impressed and will be back next week for sure.

Ordered dinner for 2 combo B for pickup. Didn’t check the order til we got home and realized they forgot our egg rolls :( service was really good though. The portions were big but I found the food lacking a bit in flavour. Would try again ordering different items.

Client since 1998! By far the most delicious food on earth. Sue and the crew are simply amazing, we love the food everytime. Today, we celebrated our daughter 4th birthday and she requested chicken sweet soup! Looks like they will have another long standing client. 🥰
