5⭐️ - 03/21/2023 - We went here for dinner after work with a group of us. When we entered we were seated fairly quickly and the restaurant was full. I noticed the owner going from table to table introducing himself. When he came to our table asked where each of us was from and thanked each of us in our languages for eating at his restaurant. We ordered quite a few things from the menu since we were quite hungry. I usually write a review for each dish but each one of them was delicious and I had no complaints whatsoever. I was satisfied with my visit the moment we were seated and greeted so nicely by the owner. The price was a little bit on the pricier end, but the experience was one I won’t forget. I definitely recommend coming here for a visit once if you haven’t done so already.

Service: The staff exhibited a high level of friendliness and politeness. Cuisine: The food was delicious, but despite informing them of our preference for non-spicy dishes, it turned out to be excessively spicy. Interior: Moderate comfort level, with a slightly outdated interior, yet the overall atmosphere was pleasant. Conclusion: The establishment offers good service and tasty food, though attention may be needed regarding dish spiciness preferences. The interior might benefit from an update, but the general impression is positive.

Where do I begin? I have never in my life experienced such hospitality. The moment you step into this family-run Korean restaurant, you are THE most important person. The staff exude such genuine warmth and have a real passion for giving you the best possible experience. The owner, Jason, checked in on us multiple times and literally made us feel like royalty. You can tell that the customer is his absolute number 1 priority and he truly enjoys connecting with people. He goes above and beyond for his customers and has a heart of gold. On and of course the food is authentic and incredible! I will never go to another Korean restaurant.

This place is fantastic! We drive from the suburbs to visit, there is a good variety and the staff is extremely friendly. This is a family run restaurant that has been in the neighborhood for decades. Please support them through the pandemic so they can survive till better days. There are a few pay lots within walking distance for parking. Washrooms are down a flight of stairs. Cash and Card payments accepted, take out available.

Let's talk about service, I can barely find words to express just how perfect the service is. The food arrives in a timely manner. The atmosphere is very welcoming. It feels as if you're having a family meal at a home right in Korea. The food is so authentic and delicious....divine actually best describes it. I 100% recommend this restaurant because it's one thing to have just great food but it's another to have great food and a phenomenal experience. Definitely check them out!

Hands down the best Korean restaurant. Drive over an hour to get here, spend 30 minutes waiting, and boy let me tell you… it was worth every second! Great staff, great service, amazing food, and hands down the best owner I have met of a restaurant. He spent the time to walk to every single table to make sure that they were getting the service they deceived and were enjoying the food. I was truly moved by his passion and honour for late mother’s legacy.

Great experience. We had the medium size bbq sample selection. This was good amount for 3-4 people. The staff were helpful, the place was very clean. It had a classic Korean restaurant feel. The food was delicious and everything was very fresh.

Excellent. As soon as I started eating their kimchi I wondered what I had done right in my past life to deserve this, and when I thought it couldn’t get better, Jason showed up and shared his kindness, humour, and generosity with us. The food was delicious (we ordered the beef and spicy chicken stone bowls + dumplings for the table), the environment was comfortable and welcoming, service was impecable, fast, attentive. You can feel the hospitality the moment you walk inside. Highly recommend, definitely one of the best restaurants in Toronto. They also offer some vegetarian options.

10/5 That’s the kind of experience I have had here. We specifically came here to try their Korean BBQ and we were not disappointed at all. The meat was so good. The sauces, marination, taste, everything was on point. The service, hospitality and ambiance, all perfect!! I’m definitely coming back to try more on their menu. Please give this place a try, you will not get disappointed. The owner was so warm and friendly. He went to each and every table and got into a conversation which speaks volumes about him as a person and the hospitality this place offers. I loved my evening here. Bonus points cause we got free desserts since we were celebrating a special occasion here. Cannot wait to come back!

I have never felt so welcome at a restaurant. The attendants were incredibly friendly and the owner himself came by multiple times to share conversations and gave us some of his own kimchi to try, which was delicious. You could also see him actively attending to all the other customers. The food portions were a lot bigger than what you would get at other Korean restaurants and not too pricey, and we left feeling comfortably full and with our spirits high. Highly recommend!

I had an amazing experience dining in with a friend on a Sunday night. It wasn't too busy, but quite lively. We shared the $55.99 jajangmyun combo, which was huge with a good variety of dishes. Every dish was exceptional! The jajangmyun and tang su yuk were delicious. The fried dumplings were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The kimchi was fresh and spicier than most I've had. The owner, Jason, was very friendly and kind, offering free soft drink refills. I will definitely return to try more dishes!

Korean Village Restaurant is hands-down the best restaurant I've been to! Whether it's the food, the environment, the people; you can't go wrong here, it's amazing. My husband brought me here for my birthday and I was over the moon in terms of how well we were being taken care of. Jason even went the extra mile of running to a neighborhood bakery to grab a dessert for my birthday. You really get to experience true hospitality here, as well as the love and passion Jason holds for the restaurant. His sincerity is reflected through his interactions with customers. We're definitely going to be regulars here and can't wait to bring our friends and family over.

Went to dinner with friends last night and had such a wonderful time! The food was delicious and was served very quick. The service was amazing, the owner would stop by every table to make sure that everyone was enjoying their meal. It was my first time eating here, but the staff made it feel like we were regulars with their friendly and personal demeanor. This place has heart, and I would be more than happy to come back with friends and family.

At first I thought this place will be so crowded and expensive but man I was wrong! It was the best in town. Affordable and amazing Korean dishes. Have been looking for a good glass noodles and I finally found it. Not oily but just right! Staffs are great and we got seated right away. Usually it’s packed. Will definitely come back and try other dishes!

There are two key qualities of a great restaurant; the food and the customer service. The Korean Village Restaurant embodies the true meaning of an excellent dinning experience. From the moment you step in to the moment you leave the place with a belly filled with the most delicious Korean BBQ, you get a sense of how much the restaurant owner and the servers care about providing an ideal dining experience for the customers. I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to the Korean Village Restaurant and it has certainly become one of my favorite restaurants in the city of Toronto!

It’s far more than a good restaurant. The customer service and the food are delivering more massage than just good food. Jason is very nice and generous! He takes care of every customer and I feel like he knows every one who dines in there… The food is the best Korean food I have ever tried in Toronto. It’s my first time trying Kalbi Tang and amazed by it. Pancakes and pork bone soup are also very tasty! A good place for having delicious food and beautiful mood.

I went to this restaurant with my friend. It's so cozy. We ordered spicy pork belly BBQ on the table!!!!!! That was the best BBQ in Canada. We understand why so many people highly recommend this place 😊 Friendly servers and owner👍 We had a great time. Also, I recommend this restaurant.

From the moment we sat down, the owner of the restaurant, Jason, made us feel special. He came in and explained everything to us, told us about the history of the restaurant and was extremely kind. He came and cooked the bbq meat for us, gave us lots of special side dishes, and really made the experience so special. I had the tofu stone bowl and it was really good too. The atmosphere is nice and cozy, lots of tables and even private rooms for small parties. Everything was amazing. 10/10 recommend Thank you Jason 🙏🏻

Forget about the food! The love and passion the owner has for this place shows! He does not run this place for the money but his love for his mom who ran this restaurant before him. He is very humble and very friendly and comes out to greet every table and has genuine conversations. Now the food, it was AMAZING!!! we got the stone bowl (bulgogi & kimchi and the Spicy Chicken) it was spicy and flavourful. We will definitely be coming back many times, for the food but more importantly the owner. His mom would be very proud of the man he is!

I first heard of this restaurant from Susur Lee (iron chef and owner of Lee Restaurant in Toronto) so there was no hesitation to give it a try HIGHLY recommend this place to satisfy all your Korean staple cravings! We got the hot stone bowl bibimbap, ddukbokki (has a medium-spicy kick to it), fried dumplings, seafood pancake, pork katsu dinner, tang su yuk and japchae. If you can.. TRY THEM ALL It’s a family run business and has a cozy vibe to it - the owner is the SWEETEST gentleman and just so knowledgeable.

One of the best general Korean food restaurants for sure. The jajangmyeon had good flavor and the noodles were bouncy. The seafood pancake was nice and crispy with plenty of seafood. I did find that the bibimbap had a bit too much oil pooled at the bottom, but it did make getting a crunchy rice at the end easier. Overall would definitely come back and try some other dishes if I'm in the mood for more classic Korean dishes.

Me and my friend craved for korean food so she recommended going to this place. Both of us really love everything about korea/koreans most esp. their food. So we ordered kimchi pajeon, kampungki and jajangmyeon. My friend really loves their kimchi pajeon and ate half of the whole serving. It was a lot for us that´s why we took home the leftover. I got their jajangmyeon, and on my first taste my eyes were gleaming, coz honestly this is the best jajangmyeon i have ever tasted. Their black bean paste sauce is superb, lots of veggies and also meat. My friend ate some from my bowl but I ended up finishing the whole serving! 😅 Our last order was their kampungki, it’s like tangsuyuk but it’s chicken. It was so tasty and saucy, it’s still crispy even if it’s soaked with sauce. Their sweet and spicy sauce is on point wherein there’s the kick but balanced by the sweetness. Finally, the staff are really friendly and accommodating especially Jong. We were practicing our korean speaking and they are very considerate. They even taught us. Overall, our experience is unforgettable and definitely there will be a next time visiting this place.

We had our friends birthday here and the team was incredibly hospitable. The food was fantastic and the owner is so passionate about what he does. They even were able to accommodate with my challenging allergies. The bulgogi and chicken were amazing. Really everything we had was so good you cant go wrong. We really enjoyed our time and will definitely be back! Thank you for a great evening full of memories.

Without getting into too much detail. Jason and his staff really made our meal there unforgettable. As corny as this sounds, everything happens for a reason and at the right time. It was a great time with food and banter. Thank you so much for making my brothers and I so happy. We’ll be back again very soon ♥️ Hana, JJ, & Nader

Excellent spot for Korean food in the city, a new favorite, and we will definitely be coming back. I will bring all my friends and family here. Not only for the extensive menu, delicious food, but also the home-vibes and the pleasant and friendly owner/staff. Warm, welcoming, attentive, and thoughtful. They have a beautiful background and history of this restaurant. So happy the also have many veggie options! The kimchi soondubu was SO GOOD, Ive dreamt about this dish since I went there. Highly recommend Korean Village!!

Everything about this place was excellent. I'm giving them 4 stars for service only because the place was not busy (plenty of empty tables) however we waited about 10-15 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. We ordered a seafood pancake, steamed dumplings, and Jajangmyun (noodles). The food was delicious! I have to come back to try out the rest of the menu items :)

wanted to try a new restaurant around the area so we decided to stop by. Here are some quick points before a longer description of service and food - atmosphere is nice and dim with low lights - bathrooms are nice and clean - food came rather quickly (note:we went in around 2 pm for a late lunch so it was quite quiet) - the table gets a water pitcher which is nice because I hate asking for more water lmao, and it’s iced Now onto the food, I got the pork katsu, which was a dinner portion so it was more than enough for me to have. The pork was nice and crunchy, the sauce was a perfect consistency + delicious with the pork and the rice was made well. Very solid katsu dish! (I had leftovers so I got it to go, and got to pack the sauce in a little container which was nice so the food wouldn’t be soggy if it was poured over) Finally the service which we read from reviews, I was curious to see how we would experience it. The waitress was kind and helpful, but most of the exceptional service we received was from the restaurant owner himself. He likes to have a personal experience with his customers so he checked up on our table and asked how things were, and after a little chat he was kind enough to give us some treats on the house which was more than we expected, he is very friendly and kind. (funny side note: he was letting us know to take our time but we were in a little of a rush to head out somewhere else so his kindness exceeded our plans by a little bit of time.) But this service was like no other restaurant from a day to day perspective!

My partner and I came here for dinner and were amazed by how good it was! A week later I took my best friend because I couldn’t stop thinking about the food it was so great! Every dish I’ve tried has been outstanding and so flavourful. The staff are all incredible too, very attentive and insanely polite. You’re never waiting long for anything and the staff regularly check in to see if you need anything. 10 out of 10 service, you couldn’t ask for better staff and service. The owner checks in with every table as well and is so kind. He remembered me the second time we went and was so appreciative for our business. I can’t put into words how great this restaurant is, the food is top notch and the service and care that goes into running this place is just amazing. You can tell that the staff really care. we will definitely be regulars at this spot!

Amazing Customer service, excellent attention and care. Food was delicious, the miso soup was amazing and the grilled meats were well seasoned. Sides were good and beansprouts were tasty. (I usually hate beansprouts) the fried dumplings were also very very good. Food was a 4/5 but the exceptional service brings it up a notch. Bathrooms were clean and hostess and waitstaff were very courteous.

The food was good, hot and amazing. Best kimchi ever, right amount of sourness and spiciness. The owner was great, friendly and respectful, since the servers were too busy to focus on taking care of tables, he came and took care of us well.

Korean Village is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. From hospitality to the amazing food it is the most enjoyable experience. Jay the owner has taught my friends and I many great life lessons and made us appreciate our family’s more. All the staff here are helpful and hard working. The food is always done to perfection and there’s nothing I wouldn’t eat here!

I visited for dinner (dine-in) on a Tuesday night and was seated right away. They currently have capacity limits due to COVID restrictions but they hadn't needed to turn anyone away at the time I was there. I ordered the yukgaejang (spicy beef soup with scallions/veg) and mandu (dumplings). The yukgaejang was perfectly spicy (this is not for the spice-averse) and so comforting on a cold Toronto night. I got the mandu fried and they were standard but still good, pork with a nice hint of ginger. The banchan included kimchi, fish cake, and mung bean sprouts. All were good but I loved the kimchi. Banchan are side dishes and included in every meal, you don't have to pay extra for them. The owner was walking around the floor and attending to customers and ensuring everyone was having a good meal. He informed me that they were short staffed and apologized for the extra time it took to get my food, but in all honesty I didn't think I had to wait that long. I appreciated that he continued to walk around and offer free rice, drinks, etc to customers to make up for the delay. He brought over a side of his special kimchi for me to try, too. Even though they were short staffed, you could tell that everyone was working their hardest during COVID restrictions. I felt so welcomed here and the food was delicious. If you visit, keep in mind that they are working under restrictions and doing their best to serve everyone in a timely manner.

Nice cozy spot to have some fresh Korean food. Service was super friendly and quick. The food was delicious. It's a bit on the pricy side for Korean food, but it's definitely worth it. Would be back and recommend to folks.

I was honestly here to avoid the rain and try the tteokbokki thing you see in WebToons... super warm greeting staff, the restaurant had a lively, yet cozy and welcoming atmosphere. You can just tell that the owner truly cares, not just for the restaurant but the dining experience of customers as well. Incredibly friendly and helpful. The cold dishes came first, small salad, small kimchi and small dish of radish. I ordered the ddeokbokki and the stone bowl beef bibimbap. The portions sizes were perfect; considering the price, I was pleasantly surprised. The ddeokbokki came with a hard boiled egg and some tofu slices. It was delicious, super chewy and slathered in a wonderful sweet/spicy sauce. It turned out to be way too spicy to handle, so if you're not into chugging water every two bites, I'd skip this one. The stone bowl bibimbap was as you'd expect it. Lovely presentation and decent amounts of veg with the meat. There wasn't as much beef as I'd expected but it's understandable with the rising cost of everything. The taste more than made up for that one small detail. All in all, I'd love to come back here again with friends and just order everything. The scent of food wafting around the place was just sublime~

Amazing food and even better service! Hands down, the best customer service I've experienced. The servers were friendly but the owner was on another level, he gave us home made kimchi to take home for free. Will be coming back for the great food and the amazing service!

This is the best restaurant in Korean town. Very traditional and food and service is amazing. Inside the restaurant is very roomy compare to other ones in the area. Highly recommended 👍

  • 5/5 Andrew Y. 8 months ago on Google
I can understand why this restaurant has a high rating. It is larger and more tastefully decorated than most Korean restaurants in Koreatown, and has reasonable prices. I ordered a cold noodle and it was perfect on a hot and humid summer day. The seafood pancake also tasted great and is priced slightly lower than a number of other restaurants in Toronto (prices have really increased dramatically since pre-COVID…). But what impressed me the most about the restaurant was the service. During our dinner, the owner/manager went around the restaurant and personally checked-in with customers. He was very cheerful, made small talk, and told us to not be shy in asking for replenishment of the side dishes. In fact, the servers here were also proactive with replenishing the side dishes. The way the owner interacted with the customers and servers, I could tell that he really cared about service quality. My only negative comment was that we ordered a bibimbap for takeout, but the takeout portion seemed much smaller than the portion we had in-store. Otherwise, it was a positive experience!

went there yesterday with friends and it was one of the best resto there! the manager was really cool (he even greeted us with our mother tongue language) really cool guy! and even offered ice cream & flower lolippop bonquet (bc it was my friend's bday -- he saw flowers + gifts),, the staff were fast to cook too,, the food was yum!! (keep in mind ur spice tolerance for some of them tho!) most dishes there is good for two already but if you're a big eater you'll definitely be satisfied even with one meal!,, theres air conditioner too and lots of seats!

I went with my girlfriend to Korean Village Restaurant after running some errands in the area. We waited about 15 minutes before getting seated which makes sense as the food is absolutely delicious here. I ordered the Spicy Kimchi and pork stir fry and my girlfriend ordered the Chicken Stone bowl. Both dishes came out steaming hot. The owner there is absolutely wonderful, he is very talkative and knows how to run a restaurant. He is very knowledgeable in regards to other cultures and he is very welcoming, making sure all our needs were met. The kimchi was very delicious and the dishes were spicy, making you crave more. Overall, the vibe of the restaurant, the food, and the owner are all great. I’d rate it a 9/10!

Had a great evening here. The owner was very hospitable and friendly and made us feel very welcome. He even gave us a demonstration of his British accent (we were 3 British guys). The BBQ assortment had a good selection. My only critical comment is that they were rather frugal with the Ssamjang however it was easy enough to keep getting more. Overall a great experience and will be coming again in the future.

If people around me ask to me, "Where is the most delicious Korean restaurant?" I strongly recommend this restaurant as the best.I've already visited here many times. The service of all the servers is always great and they take care of their customers carefully. Also, the owner always greets customers with a smile. Cold noodles, kimchi fried rice, and my favorite pork belly bbq were really delicious. I'm going to visit again🥰
