Booked 1 night in August 2022…Rosé room…$400+. Immediately upon entry there was an overwhelming smell of stale mixed with carpet fresh or some deodorizer. The carpet was old, faded, and full of stains. Some of the fabric chairs also stained. Killed several ants in the bathroom. There was a layer of dust around the baseboards. An ugly stain dripped down the wall, onto the baseboard and carpet. The balcony area was dirty with tree branches and dead leaves, areas where the stucco had fallen off, a noisy AC unit, and a dirty, rickety table with a tired, faded plastic plant. The manager came and claimed not to be able to smell the odor- said perhaps it was because he was wearing a surgical mask. I had an n-95 mask on and found the smell overwhelming. He said they tried to get the stains out of the carpet but could not. And while new carpet had been ordered, it was difficult to be without a room during summer season. Offered to get an exterminator to look at the bathroom aunt issue. Could not refund as we booked through Expedia but offered a free breakfast or lunch. We declined as the issue was the unclean room. He found us another room which was better but still had a mild odour. We got dressed up and headed to patio for supper. Three of the entrees were unavailable. We settled for quinoa bowl ( Risotto unavailable) and chicken supreme ( spare ribs unavailable). The heat and sun were fierce and sadly the table umbrella could not bend enough to provide shade. After ordering, we noted lamb shank being served to several tables. This was not on the menu, nor did our waitress advise us of its availability. When we asked she told us that she advised us the lamb was available. We both replied that she had not. Then she said “Well we must have been out of it by then. Yes that’s it, we were out.” Again we expressed our concern - this time about the service. We offered to pay for the drinks and tomato salad and asked to cancel our entrées. They did not charge us for any of the meal. A very disappointing experience both in the accommodations and in the restaurant. See photos of the room below. The Riverbend Inn, perhaps once glorious in its day,is suffering from serious neglect- stucco and shingles falling off, stains on furniture and carpet, overall general level of basic cleanliness lacking.

Very well organized and professional. Beautiful area. Had a last minute reservation and still they accommodated an early check in. The room was very spacious with character with the view of the vineyard. The food at the restaurant had a great presentation. I wasn’t personally fan of the taste of the food but I will definitely go back for coffee. Breakfast was included. Highly recommend the place for staying overnight. Normally they offer bikes but they haven’t received the bikes for the season yet.

Stopped by at the Restaurant of this Inn to grab Lunch before our wine tour at a closeby Vineyard. Thankfully the weather was great as we were seated in the Patio area with a direct view to massive vineyard estate. The service was excellent and quick. The food was extremely bomb. We ordered Oysters which were so fresh! The server was kind to share additional details about where they source their food from. Ordered a bunch of mains between the 5 of us & everything tasted fabulous! It was so peaceful & heart warming to dine here! The Inn itself seemed quite nice so will definitely consider staying here for the night next time I am in the area. Ample parking available!

Terrible customer experience at this place. I called to book a one-night stay for our wedding night (they typically do a two-night minimum). The front desk representatives that I spoke with during the booking told me that would be no problem as they had lots of availability open for the weekend I was booking and I repeated several times this will be for just a one-night stay. They assured me that it was booked for a one-night stay that and it was no problem, and a confirmation email would come through shortly. After the confirmation email didn't come through, I called back the next day, there was a spelling mistake in my email address and they re-sent the email - showing a two-night stay. I called back to let them know it was an error and that the girls I spoke with the previous day assured me that it was a one-night stay and that they had lots of availability that weekend, so that's why they could honour it. The rep said sorry that it was our mistake but there's nothing we can do it's a two-night minimum. She put me on hold for a few minutes to apparently talk to the manager. Then came back and again and said there's nothing we can do it it's a two-night minimum. I told the rep again that I was told it was booked for one night, and you shouldn't be confirming people for one night and then essentially asking them to cancel their wedding night booking for your mistake on an internal policy. They just repeated no sorry, that was our mistake the people working yesterday shouldn't have told you that, they're newer staff. Then told me that the "manager can maybe call me if they have time". The manager did call me back and did offer to honour the room for one-night. But I'm really not understanding why when I was put on hold for them to talk with the manager they didn't honour it at that point, knowing the situation? At that point I was so off-put by the experience that I told them to cancel the reservation, if this is the level of service for the booking - I can't imagine what we'll have to deal with if we were to stay there.

We had a lovely stay at the Riverbend Inn for our honeymoon. Service was excellent for all aspects of our stay. The complimentary continental breakfast (available in the off season only) was a nice treat. The Inn is a renovated historic building which added to the vintage feel. It does mean that sound carries, but it didn’t bother us. We loved the location nestled among the vineyards, being walking distance to a few wineries (highly recommend Two Sisters). We enjoyed a drink on the muskoka chairs one evening watching the sunset to cap off a great visit.

Beautiful old estate. Rooms are larger than I expected. Very well maintained. We were there mid-week and it was quiet. Enjoyed a great meal with oysters and wine, of course. They booked us a free wine tasting for the next day at Peller Estates. Highly recommended.

A beautiful Inn that needs to be experienced. The are very welcoming. Our room was on the second door which gave us a beautiful view of the winery. The room itself was spacious with a fireplace, Juliet balcony and a luxurious king sized bed. Breakfast served by Kelsen was outstanding. We will definitely be back.

This place is fantastic. The restaurant is spectacular with breathtaking views. The staff is amazing and really make you feel like you are the only one there. The food is very tasty. We come here every year and it never dissapoints.

We stayed three nights here for a short vacation with wine tasting and golf. The site of the Inn is lovely, surrounded by grape vines and far enough from the road so you don't hear traffic. The location is not quite close enough to NOTL for walking, unless you're up for a mile or so of walking along roads and paths. Our room was large and clean. Unfortunately, in our opinion, the Inn doesn't earn its expensive price tag. The room was looking a bit worn -- baseboards were banged up, windows were missing pieces of their hardware. All of the windows were labeled with signs directing how to lock/unlock, imploring guests to please unlock the windows before opening. The signs seemed a bit tacky for such an expensive accommodation (and who knew opening a window was such a fraught experience?). The most disappointing aspect of the Inn was the wasted opportunity that was the bar/restaurant. The bar is a grand wood/marble extravaganza. The bar service is non-existent. You can sit at the bar, and maybe get a cocktail made by one of the servers who is rushing back and forth to tables. Why not have a place where guests can get a cocktail made by a dedicated bartender? The indoor dining area has zero ambiance. Staffing at the front desk did not meet the needs of the busiest times (especially the 4:00pm check-in time), so with only one person on the desk and everyone trying to check in the shuttle service to Peller Estates was not available. All that said, the staff was unfailingly pleasant, and breakfast on the terrace was fine. Bottomline: Adequate, but not worth the price.

We went after the stellar lunch as part of the Peller/30 Bench member's event. The food at the event encouraged us to visit Oaklands for snacks later in the afternoon We listened to our waiter for recommendations and were not disappointed. If you only get one, go for the mushroom toast. It narrowly edged out the chicken liver parfait as our favorite. The Bresaola carpaccio was our other choice and in any other restaurant would be the premiere choice. Fine dining at its best. And apparently the menu changes every few months. We're going back. Often. Oh and the staff was terrific! Overall 6 stars out of 5.

Great little Inn at NOTL. It's walking distance from Pellar Estates, which is quite convenient if you are up for some wine tasting. There is a shuttle service that can take you there as well, but if you want to go to the other wineries, you may need to call a UBER. At Riverbend, you can eat inside or on the terrace and enjoy a nice meal. Most of the serving staff are friendly and quite pleasant to chat with. The restaurant opens at 8:30am so not ideal for early risers. You might as well sleep in. The restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, so you should plan for snacks if you arrive during that time frame. The room was a good size with comfortable beds and bedding. The hallway floors were quite sloped, but you might expect that from such an old structure. It may just be worth noting if you have balance or mobility issues. We had no issues with it as youngish travellers. You can also enjoy a complimentary bike rental if you're interested in taking a nice ride to see the town. This was our second stay at Riverbend and we will likely return again sometime in the future as it's becoming a bit of a tradition.

This restaurant is where I go, close to home when I desperately wish to be back in the vineyards of France....the views are stunning! But, the food will exceed your expectations....the service remains top notch and the wine list is very good! I love everything about Riverbend and bring all my family, friends and clients here! Next goal to actually STAY overnight at the Riverbend!

The restaurant was absolutely terrific! There were layers of flavors that created an outstanding lunch... Our waiter was funny and delightful. We will be back next year when we attend the Shaw festival again. So glad we came!

The grounds and lobby set the tone as you drive up and walk into the Inn. It's a fantastic setting in one of, perhaps, the best locations for vineyard and winery tours that exist. You can walk to two and drive to a double digit amount of wineries within 15 minutes (they also have a weather protected golf cart to shuttle you to the winery on the property). Rooms are Clean, well appointed and quiet. All 20 rooms were booked during the stay and a sound was not heard after 11 pm. Great Restaurant in the building with a bar that is comfortable and classy. The bartenders provided offerings and tastings of local spirits and beers as well as wine. Staff members at the front desk and restaurant were fantastic, helpful and very kind. They are passionate about their service to guests and are very welcoming. We also loved the fact that, if you are up for a great 1.5 mile walk, you can take the well groomed trails and walk to the center of Historic Niagara on the Lake in 20 mins. The walk takes you a long the Scenic Niagara River. Definitely a return trip or two planned; it'd be great to see this setting in each of the four seasons.

I have stayed at Riverbend a few times overnight and have had the pleasure of dining in the restaurant on site Oaklands. I am a wine club member at Peller estates and this place is my favourite restaurant and favourite place to stay overnight. Every detail is a testament to their commitment to quality. The ambiance is charming and the staff’s attentiveness made our visit truly memorable. The sunset in May was outstanding. I highly recommend this gem to anyone seeking a top-notch winery and dining experience. Look forward to returning soon.

We had a reservation at the Prince of Wales, but unbeknownst to us, they had switched us to this hotel without telling us. We were quite disappointed, because that was one of the main reasons we went to Niagara on the Lake. But all ended well, the Riverbend Inn was very nice, our room was lovely, and they had wonderful and kind servers!

We spent one night here April 1st. We had a tour and dinner reservation at Peller Estates. It was probably walkable but due to the weather the hotel shuttled us in their covered golf cart. The rooms were large and very clean. We had breakfast there the next morning and it was delicious. It’s located just outside of NOTL and close to the fort. Walkable to downtown for some but not all. A great location for a walk or a bike ride. We would definitely return here.

Beyond beautiful, magnificent, classy, elegant, a great inn. The rooms are luxurious, spacious, and tastefully decorated. The Oaklands restaurant is a gastronomically magical experience. Service is top notch, an overall super 5*+. Highly recommended.

Riverbend is stunning.! Gorgeous place with a beautiful high end restaurant and the pitside terrace is just ... chefs kiss. Amazing service. Amazing food, amazing oysters and cocktails with a view you can't beat .

An essential part of the wine country experience. Views of the neighboring wineries are fantastic. The rooms feel wholesome and nostalgic. The restaurant felt intimate and classy, and the food was above average. We will definitely return.

We went on a mini getaway in early April. Went with no expectation as the weather is still cold to experience the winery. Riverbend out passed all of our expectations. Rooms were spacious, clean and well kept. Staff were very friendly and professional. Will definitely be going there again during warmer temperatures to experience the full winery in all its glory.

What a delightful inn! Our room was beautiful. It was the lowest tier of the room types/prices, but it was VERY spacious with lovely hardwood and a gorgeous bathroom. Our room looked right out on to the vineyard. A lovely surprise was that continental breakfast was included, and it was FAR above our expectations of a usual hotel continental breakfast! The in room coffee machine was also great - real espresso rather than the usual terrible Keurig. Only downside was the noise - there is zero soundproofing between floors, so we could basically hear every word our upstairs neighbours said. Not sure what it would be like in the rest of the building - we were on the first floor. Would love to visit again in the warmer weather.

Riverbend Inn is a beautiful place, located just outside the main town of Niagara-On-The-Lake, surrounded by vineyards and right next door to Peller Estates. The rooms are large, with a comfortable seating area, enormous bathroom and ours even had a working fireplace. Decorated in classic English Country House style, furnishings are refined and elegant. We were welcomed with a glass of house bubbly and every request was handled swiftly. There is a fine dining restaurant on-site that features a terrace with lovely sunset views. A wonderful spot for a getaway.

We had a wonderful meal with their "prix fixed" offerings. Started off with the mussel special. Along with the meal we had a choice of flights of wine or whiskey which was free with our dinner. Our server William gave perfect suggestions for our delicious choices made by Sous Chef Andrew. The folks here care about what they do and it really shows.

The Riverbend Inn is lovely and in a perfect location. our room was charming and very spacious. The food was very good and the servers were excellent. However, the carpet in our room was so badly stained that it should probably be replaced. The coffee maker leaked, we couldn't turn off the fan on the air conditioner and there were no hand towels or shampoo on our second day. No one asked whether we enjoyed our stay or if there was anything we needed.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful inn, it was enjoyable in every way. This place is run by a professional, courteous, and helpful staff. The inn itself is beautiful and oozes charm and elegance at every turn. Our room was spacious, very clean, and offered beautiful views of the nearbye vineyard. It was a little chilly during our stay, but the sun was shining and we couldn't resist taking our glasses of wine and sitting outside by the gazebo. Just gorgeous. Have to recommend the restaurant, " The Oaklands", also. Very pleased with our dinner there, our meals were delicious, perfectly prepared and delivered by wonderful servers. The Oaklands has a really wonderful atmosphere too. Another thing we appreciated about the Riverbend Inn: it is perfectly located, just a short drive away from the main street Niagara On the Lake and all the great things to see and do there. We feel this way offers incredible value and offers everything we were hooing for. Would stay here again without hesitation. Highest recommendation.

An extremely beautiful venue, with staff to match. The food and drinks and their pairings were superb and delicious. The mushrooms on toast was heavenly. My only issues were walking out to the outside patio, you're nostrils are hit with what smells like the worse dirty hockey bag of body order. The other issue was sitting outside we were hit with waves of what smelled like septic tank gas during the end of the night. Other than this small issues it was an amazing experience that has left me craving more. We were back again for a wine club appreciation dinner and they did not disappoint! Chef Ross's food was to die for and paired with a variety of amazing 30 bench wines was beyond delicious and took us for a palette ride I have never experienced before. The flower arrangements were absolutely beautiful and I hope someone took some high end photos of it because I'm sure my phone did not do the justice they deserve! It was truly an amazing night and I'm so glad we were there to enjoy the absolute luxurious food, drinks, company, and staff. We will definitely be back for more of these special events thank you for such a wonderful evening!

Such a quaint charming Inn. Can not mention enough greatness this inn offers. Go visit to see for yourself. Beautifully remodeled. Spotless comfy room with fireplace, seating area, wines on the mantel, and a coffee table. Beautifully landscaped grounds amongst the vineyard. Patio newly redone with views of the vineyard Peller and Two Sisters. Will definitely be back.

Way too expensive for what it is. Spent 4 nights in July 2022. Service is nice, beds are confortable and the land is beautful. But carpet is filthy, air conditioning very noisy (will wake you up in the middle of the night), no breakfast included. We were told that muffins / snacks were included with coffee but this was canceled last week. As for the beautiful picnic shown on their website...no staff was aware. Little details such as more than 3 hangers in the closet, bathrobes with a belt, couple of shelves in the bathroom, fresh paint would help. For this amount of money i would highly recommend another place.
