Be prepared to line up, these literally sell like hot cakes (pun intended) To be fair, I'd agree and say these are the best cinnamon buns in Vancouver. I've never been brave enough to risk the season promotions, a plain Cinnamon bun with no icing is my deadly weapon of choice. A little gem just off Alma near Kits beach and West 4th area makes this a must stop for a bun and coffee. The house dark roast is also extremely rich and delicious coffee. The OG.. this joint is so much nicer than the new place on Commercial and has more character. Top that off with compostable cutlery, friendly staff and a chilled out vibe with the delicious smell of dough in the air makes this a dream.

I LOVE grounds! My roommate discovered it awhile ago and we go every chance we can. Their cinnamon buns are quite literally the world's best cinnamon buns and I love going in and trying their specialty cinnamon buns that they bring out around once a month. The staff are so genuinely kind and the atmosphere of grounds is super cozy. Definitely an awesome spot to grab a quick treat, to enjoy a date, or even to chill with a friend! :) Their other treats are delicious too!

This is actually my favourite place. Its an iconic neighbourhood coffee shop with the best gooeyest, softest and most delectable cinnamon buns in the world. Literally the world. I’d get with icing personally but a good option is getting the icing on the side if you want more control of the sweetness. The staff are also just the kindest! So friendly and joyful. They also have really good muffins and smoothies. This is a MUST do in Vancouver

I was skeptical about them having the "best cinnamon buns in the city" but now I am searching for someone (anyone) who's better. A bun paired with their "pretty good" coffee is all you need before exploring the area. They have 2 tables that you can sit inside at but they mostly do grab-and-go. 2 people are allowed in at a time and, with their demand, there is usually a line - but the wait is worth it.

This place has the best cinnamon rolls ever! So warm, fresh, and not too sweet. With or without icing, you can't go wrong. I also had the apple cider and it was delicious too. Overall, a wonderful coffee shop and I highly recommend.

My wife has been telling me about the cinnamon buns here for years. Let me tell you, they were worth the wait! The sign outside that claims them as the best in world is 100% correct - they are amazing. Sweet, warm and creamy - absolutely delicious. The coffee too was great, the staff attentive and helpful. If I lived here, I would be a regular.

Stopped by to grab a coffee and pastries. The staff helping me was very nice and patient, answering all the questions to ensure we got everything we needed. Got a chai latte and a london fog, both were excellent. We also grabbed a box of cinnamon buns to take home. Very delicious and definitely a top cinnamon bun in Vancouver. I’d highly recommend going here for a drink and a treat!

Warm, fluffy, jumbo cinnamon buns. What more could you ask for? Definitely check out their special flavours of cinnamon buns which they switch up. When I was here, I had blueberry, and it was the perfect addition to their cinnamon bun! They also perfected their ratio of icing to bun.

Lovely sun-soaked space with awesome coffee and really good seasonal cinnamon bun specials. My favourite is the cherry blossom cinnamon bun — a surprisingly good combo.

I heard good things about their cinnamon buns and that’s what we visited them for. They were very delicious. Not too sweet. And, I liked how they served each of them in one container. Easier to eat and individually packed. The staff were super friendly.

I have visited this place on weekends with my friends. I presume this branch get their batch of Cinnamon Buns from commercial drive location. They have less seating and felt congested. I ordered cinnamon bun with icing and mocha. Mocha is good, Cinnamon bun wasn’t that great. I prefer having at commercial dr

The cinnamon bun was delicious, not too sweet, exactly just the right amount of sweetness. A supple texture, not too hard not too soft. I took a bun without extra frosting and I didn't feel it was too much after eating it whole. Had a cappuccino of M size it's huge! It felt like 3 normal European cappuccino. Cosy seat 🪑 Staff are kind and friendly, they take safety measures and hygiene very seriously: wear caps and masks.

Nice place to stop by for a coffee or cinnamon bun. Decent amount of seating and I often see students in here on their laptops💻 I ordered a cinnamon bun to go but we were never told it was ready, so we did wait there for 15 minutes until we asked if it was ready. The cinnamon bun itself did not disappoint though! Very good tasting and I recommend it if you're after something sweet. It's what they're known for here!

The coffee here is very good (and I’m picky). I love that they’re open when everyone else is closed too. However one of their servers needs to change her attitude. She too quick to jump at you for the rules and barks them at you before even getting into the place. First it was the masks then the dog coming in. Rules are fine but please soften your approach!

I was told they have make the best cinnamon bun in town, drove all the way over to try it. Long line up at front even during COVID season, no street parking available, had to walk a bit distance to get my car parked. They provide the snow topping for the buns separately, but a bit challenging to pour it out from the coffee cup. The bun is a bit too sweet for me, but kids loved it. It’s always best to eat it fresh, so you better not to order too much to take home.

Cinnamon bun was very nice. Warm, soft and light. Didn't order icing so it wasn't too sweet. Chocolate chip cookie was also good, nice size, and was firm but not too crunchy or crumbly. Thai chicken wrap was a let down, but probably because I didn't read the description. I was expecting chicken with a Thai sauce, but in reality it was more like Thai noodles in a wrap.

Review for the cinnamon bun only: Truly an awesome cinnamon bun, and consistently good. I ordered it with icing (you can choose). Fresh, warm, soft, a glutinous center, and the filling is very cinnamon-ey.. harmonious in taste and texture throughout. Both the original and seasonal pumpkin spice variations are ✨ 🙌🏼✨

Cinnamon buns are the GOAT. With frosting is a bit sweet to me, because I don’t often eat sweet food. But for those of you who has a sweet tooth, it’s perfect. The regular cinnamon buns are absolutely fantastic! Especially when it’s freshly baked!!!!!

Great coffee, fantastic service and ambience! The esteemed "cinnamon buns" are alright, not extraordinary. Tried both with and without icing. Based on my experience scowering the world for the best cinnamon buns, and in my opinion, I've had much better varieties from other provinces!

From the moment I walked into Grounds for Coffee, it felt like stepping into a warm embrace. This place has truly mastered the art of creating a cozy neighborhood haven. Its mission and values of respect, integrity, community, care, and quality are palpable. The friendly staff and their meticulous attention to food preparation and ethically sourced, locally-grown ingredients make for an unforgettable experience. Now, let's talk about the stars of the show - the cinnamon buns. I've tried many, but none have come close to these. Soft, delicious, and reminiscent of the homemade ones my grandmother used to make, they truly live up to their reputation. Each bun is made fresh daily and is a testament to the commitment and care that goes into the preparation. Pro tip: if you have any left over icing or sugar, stirring it into your coffee makes for an unexpectedly delightful twist. The warmth and character of Grounds for Coffee extend beyond the food. There's also some cozy seating, making it a great spot to unwind or catch up on some work. Plus, it's not just the cinnamon buns that are worth the visit. The coffee is top-notch, and the café takes pride in offering nothing short of premium organic coffee. In conclusion, Grounds for Coffee is more than just a coffee shop, it's a must-visit if you're in Vancouver. Whether you're planning a road trip to the mountains or just need a pick-me-up, consider getting a box of six cinnamon buns. Trust me, you won't regret it!

Cinnamon buns are delicious and super fresh, the coffee is also good. There are not so many places that you can find with a schedule until 6PM.

The cinnamon buns are great and so was the coffee. Ran past frequently on my Sunday morning runs with a friend always smelled the awesome aroma coming from this place. We finally ended a run nearby and went in.. the taste was just as good as the aroma. The staff was also pleasant and kind.

Each sip offers a symphony of well-balanced notes, from the deep, earthy undertones to the subtle hints of chocolate and caramel. The coffee beans are sourced from high-quality plantations, ensuring a fresh and authentic experience.

First off the cinnamon buns are delicious! Truly the best. We drive from almost an hour away just to buy them. I cannot say enough good things about the customer service either. I went today to pick up a large order to have Christmas morning. Everyone working there was so so friendly and very helpful. They kindly answered all my questions about keeping them fresh and how to warm them up. It was a wonderful experience and the buns paired with the awesome people who work there make this one of our favourite spots.

Rainy day after the long hot stretch and my girlfriend and I decided to grab a coffee and cinnamon bun, it was 5:30 pm. I dropped her and she went in. She asked for a coffee and was told we close in a half hour, we are no longer serving coffee, I thought it was a coffee house lol. She grabbed a couple cinnamon buns and to our surprise when we opened the boxes we received 1 very small, looked like only the center of a bun and another rough looking one. Love their stuff, but both of us just shook our heads in disappointment as we have never experienced that their before.
