This is a really nice part of Montreal to hang out at or go for a walk. Can’t wait to catch and outdoor concert or festival here one day 🙏🏼

This time of year, you can see the Christmas market . There’s only one entrance but yet it’s on a square … really ? Still nice to be spending a few minutes or hours there .

Mostly little craft kiosks and local food and drinks. We hope to visit in the evening when there's a little more going on. No bands in the afternoon.

Montréal en Lumiere is a fun festival for families, visitors, and locals. It has entertainment for children, food and drinks for foodies, a ferris wheel, a zip line!, live show and music. La nuit Blanche is Saturday, goes till 3 am!

This area has improved remarkably over the last ten years or so. In the winter they have an skating rink and outdoor fire pits now, and in the summer there’s always food trucks and street entertainment.

One of the reasons why Montreal is one of the most beautiful cities in Canada. This place in the heart of Montreal is bustling in activities and festivities day in and day out. The people are in high spirits and I felt very safe minding my own business here 😊

Was in Montreal for a week of Just For Laughs festival and visited this place almost nightly. Great venue for a comedy show, it held a few thousand people max and the sound was clear and crisp. The area was surrounded with many stations for children of all ages to keep everyone busy. Not sure if it's always like this, or because the JFL's was in town, regardless it was a beautiful place to enjoy our evenings.

This is a very crazy area we came across walking from our nearby hotel on Sherbrook Avenue going towards Notre Dame cathedral and the old town. We first ate at Eggspectation and then continued our walk noticing what a change a few hours produced: from being rather quiet at 10am to being very lively at mid day. I would expect in the evening to be poor madness. Lots of shops, restaurants, coffee places etc - a typical touristic area.

The heart of Montreal. All kinds of arts are represented at this location. You will have the opportunity to celebrate and experience one of the festivals

The water features are open. There is a big set up going on for the June 6th Franco de Montreal festival, but if you walk down on St-Cath. you'll come across some fun installations like huge scrabble and chess boards, further back there are mesh loungers to relax on, this place always has something to offer, all year around.

Free outdoor shows & huge water fountains were there in case you needed to cool down (we were experiencing quite the heatwave then). A lot of restaurants, the place is usually pretty animated. Overall one of my favourite spots in Downtown Montréal.

The Place des Festivals brings something new every season. It’s exciting to see what concepts they explore. Every year, it gets better and more accessible. Many restaurants around and you can pick any place to sit with friends. I especially recommend hanging out here in late summer because most festivals are over in this space but they still have all the decorations.

Montreal did a great job in rethinking the open spaces where the Places des Festivals is currently located. Over 10 years ago, this area did not have such thoughtfully designed open spaces.

Amazing location! The main stage for the Jazz Fest. The sound was exceptionally clean and clear. The high-resolution video monitors used made it feel like you were close to the performes. Even though it was raining lightly one night it was still a great place to see the Jazz Fest. The surrounding buildings add to the ambience.

It is beautiful to walk on Ste-Catherine street after sunset to see all the Christmas lights lit on and visit each little boot where you can buy food like bretzels, drinks like warm wine, and lots of little Xmas gifts. It was even more magical when it was snowing!

After vaccine passports; Getting tickets to different evens is confusing but free. Security people are everywhere and seem to be the only people thst are visible with any predictabllity but don't seem to know much about events. Time consuming & frustrating at times. Bags are sometimes searched especially for food, or appears that way. Events are often very good once you get over culture shock and bureaucratic nature of getting tickets.

Very nice closed steet with a lot of activities and restaurants, too bad this area has too many homeless and unstable people
