They have just realased an official daily tour in English and it is certainly something to look for. The tour is educational and very amusing. We were guided by Kathleen - a former resident of the building, who takes her job with pride and does her best to make you feel comfortable, while providing explanations with huge pride and historical details of the place. This is a rare architectural asset. One that although extremely interesting, is hard to see nowadays, making it a one of a kind. The history behind it is very rich and will make you walk out of the there powered up to accomplish your goals. A must go in Montreal!

The outside of the building is gorgeous, but I'd recommend joining the guided tour which is the only way to see the inside. You get to take the elevator to the top floor, then go inside one apartment owned by the architect, hang out on the terrace, and finally you'll walk all the way downstairs back. My tour guide also introduced interesting background about the building, how it was built, design considerations, the architect Moshe Safdie, etc. The tour is well worth it to me even though it's a bit pricy.

You walk around, and look at weird buildings - good times. It's a great way to spend the morning - strongly recommended! But don't expect to spend too much time here. Maybe 10-15 minutes. I didn't do a tour, or go inside or anything. It's private property and that's fine. If this is your first time in Montreal or you are pressed for time - you might want to avoid this place. This was my 3rd trip there, and I ran out of things to see - so I walked here for fun. You can also sort of see these buildings from Old Port, so if you bring a camera with a REALLY good zoom.. you can get photos that way!

Fascinating Architectural masterpiece, well worth the visit if design and brutalism architecture is something that interests you. Note that it's closed off to the public with security on the premise as it's a residential area. There are tour sessions available occasionally. Otherwise, you will have to stay on the public streets.

a must-visit for montreal imo, really thought-provoking and pleasant experience for an architecture nerd. but the neighborhood is so calming with excellent water front views. could be great just for an evening walk.

We really enjoyed our visit of Habitat 67, which we didn’t know they were doing, it was a nice surprise. The local guide was very helpful in his explanation of how Habitat 57 came to be. From the 67 World Fair to the mind of a brilliant, and a young man, who had a vision of the future and the pitfall of our modern societies. My only suggestion would be to revise the tickets price, it’s a bit expensive.

Habitat 67 is an iconic apartment complex that was built for Expo 67, an international exhibition that took place in Montreal between April and October 1967. One of the rare structures remaining from that expo is this experimental living space. The best time to view Habitat is around sunset because the light of the setting sun will make your photos memorable.

Beautiful. Iconic structure by Moshe Safdie. If you plan on visiting book a tour in advance as they are all sold out on the day of (even weekdays). They are approx $40. If you want to save the money and still catch a glimpse then you can do as I and tour the exterior. By looping around the tennis court and behind the building you’re sandwiched between the canal and the building on a narrow path. On it you have sight into Habitat 67. But, of course, nothing comparable to actually touring the site.

Habitat 67 offers two things: fascinating architecture and a wonderful view on the skyline of Montreal. We didn't join the guided tour of the apartment buildings, but also without a tour the excursion to Habitat 67 was amazing. Habitat 67 is a good 45-minutes-walk away from Montreal old town. I recommend to combine the visit with a walk over the Pont de la Concorde towards Île Saint Helene and Île Notre Dame. The location is a bit difficult to reach via public transport (take bus 168 and exit at the bus stop "Des Moulins / Pierre-Dupuy" - from there another 15 minutes by foot). Habitat 67 is a "must" for every Montreal traveller.

Booked the tour online and did the tour in the summer and it was amazing. Well worth the money. We also got to see inside one of the units. Tip: make sure you go to the washroom before a tour as there are none available once you’re there.

very unique and cool design of this apartment complex. roughly 15 min walk from the bus station. it is a private property tho, so beware of getting yelled at as we snuck in from the back to take some cool shots. very nice area overlooking the sea and a great area to walk and bike around

The tour was amazing! They tell you lots about the architecture of the building, walk you through the three parts of the complex, and the views from the sample apartment (that you get to check out, too) are very unique. Highly recommended!

There’s a great bike path leading here. I saw it from Vieux Port and wanted a closer look. You can’t go in, but it’s so neat just to look from the outside.

Had a wonderful time on the english guided tour of Moshe Safdie's masterpiece, Habitat 67. Was well worth the time walking through the space, considering it's form, and the ideals it represented. One of the finest examples of brutalism I have scene. Simon was an excellent guide

It’s just interesting to know that bunch of concrete cubes are worth 1-7 millions of dollars. Good for architectural persons.

We did a guided tour through the facility and it really explained a lot of the history and reasons this building exists. Its a fascinating structure and is really worth exploring with a tour if interested.

The iconic architectural design of Montreal is an amazing sight to visit -at least a outside- haha. It is like a huge cubes surrounding the area, making it a nice place to checkout in the city.

Fantastic building. Awful site. The bus drops you opposite of a 4 lane, high speed road with no crosswalks. What do the residents do? The city should be embarrassed.

For its architectural value alone, this building is so cool. Definitely worth a stop by for a gander if you are around that area.

Very interesting architecture but private property. Because of this you're not allowed to walk through the area but only look from the curb side. Still worth the little trip to the other side.

The highlight of my trip - such an interesting design and the guided tour is recommended. You were able to go inside Mr. Safdie’s old penthouse apartment, which was nearly all original! Jacqueline was a fantastic guide - she supplemented information with photos and seemed to be a true fan of not only the building, but of Moshe Safdie as she shared examples of other work he completed around the world.

It is worth a visit if and only if you are an architect. We couldn't enter the property when we visited here. Due to Covid19, they apparently suspended the visiting tour.

My uncle was the site Foreman of this project for the '67 World Expo , I am a Contractor in California and I am exploring my family’s roots in Construction technology's and plan to visit it some day. All I know so far is that my uncle was the Foreman for its construction . He was an immigrant to Canada from Finland . I hope to find some pictures to post .

You don't need to spend much time here but you absolutely have to come check it out! Extremely cool architecture and a historical part of Montreal. Must see!

Habitat 67 is the iconic architecture, situated at the bank of Saint-Lawrence river, Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This place looks beautiful in winter as well as in the summer. Here are couple of photos which I captured during my visit.

Me and my best friend had such a good time, thank you! What an experience to tour it with one of your guides (do note, you can only explore the premises with a guide). To tour one of the actual apartments too, was fantastic! And such a surprise. The rooftop also offers great views over Montréal! 😍
