Seems like a fine gym but having a two month cancellation notice/buy out is very predatory. I have not been able to attend at all due to my work schedule and once I try to cancel I am informed of their predatory business practice of having a two month buy out for cancellation. Essentially, if you cancel you must pay out two months of membership fees. This was not communicated to me properly but either way a predatory business practice. The quality of the gym and everything else I can't say I have much experience with but the fact they have this policy means I cannot in good faith recommend this gym.

20 jun2022 Hi all I want to provide an update on the review below Few days back, Socrates from kombat arts reached out to me and thankfully agreed to let me avail my membership and I will be joining back this week. This is a win win situation as it will not only leave me satisfied as a loyal customer but reinforced my trust on kombat arts. My experience below may have been just a result of miscommunication and hopefully I will be joining back tomorrow. Looking forward and thanks Socrates for looking into this. Below response is Posted on end of may This is most unethical place I have seen who don’t seem to care about what they promised. They sucked away my whole 3 month membership which I paid in advance despite having clear email communication regarding my injury with doctor’s letter attached Please read below the details if you want. I joined this gym on nov 5 and got an injury on nov 12. I called them after 2 days that I want to wAit for 2-3 weeks to see if heals and they said that they are ok with that. On Dec 1 I checked with a physiotherapist who said that I cannot continue till it heals completely so I mail them that I want to get my membership freezed. No body responded to the mail. I called them they said someone will reply. No one responded. I mailed them again. No one responded. I went there . They said some one will reply. Mailed again. Then they said my membership is frozen. They clearly said on phone that I will not loose money and can avail my membership once I am fine. I was assured that it should not be a big deal as I trusted them. I never asked for a refund as I wanted to continue. Today I went there to restart and first they said that my membership has expired . I told them that I had an email communication to which they said that they could not find any communication. I opened it on my phone and they immediately found it after which they said that they can only give me a month which was surprising as I have never any one go back on their words so shamelessly. I still don’t know what could have done better not to loose money. So if you are planning to join make sure you dont go through any injury, there should be no emergency. Kombat arts please let me how long you last with my 450 bucks!! I just read other comments and it seems that these guys are in the habit to cheat people on their money and even charged people when they are closed on pandemic.

This is such a phenomenal gym and facility. I came here to try out their beginners Mau Thai class, as a drop in and I had a very good experience. The gym itself is absolute huge, as it is able to facilitate several classes at once. I saw numerous activities taking place in parallel like bootcamp style workouts, weight lifting as well as boxing practice. There is a lot of variety here to offer. The practice itself was very well organized and developed to make attendees comfortable, there were at least 6 other drop in attendees coming to this gym as first timers as well. The gym has various Mat's and seems clean and orderly. Even the change rooms and washrooms were noticeably clean and well organized. If I lived in the area I would definitely see myself coming here as a regular attendee!

This place has become a 2nd home for me. Amazing community that’s so welcoming to all members regardless of what skill level you’re coming from. The owner, Joey, does such a great job at making you feel comfortable even if you’re new. His classes will have you always coming back. All the other instructors are solid too. I do feel like this place is one of the best for authentic Muay Thai & the culture here is so energetic. The facility itself is nice & always well maintained. I’ve met some cool people here that make this whole experience even better. 10/10 would recommend. :)

An excellent place to train any martial art. They have good instructors that will make you love martial arts and your workout. The instructors and staff are personable, courteous, and professional. During your trial lessons, they give the attention you or your children need to feel comfortable learning their skills and learning them safely. Best place to learn any martial art, to have self conference, having fun while you are learning, feeling strong and getting in shape

Hands down best martial arts training gym in the GTA. Coach Socrates Celestial trained me back to 100% from a debilitating injury and people always compliment my boxing. Their Jiu jitsu program is incredible, professor David Beckles is running an impressive program. Joey runs a great place and is so knowledgeable. Great programs for dedicated martial artists, MMA players & people wanting to get into it as well!

Gym is great. I did an intro class with May and she was an amazing coach, she was very fun and made the first class fun while still being disciplined and teaching us properly. I highly recommend doing an intro to striking class with May if it’s your first time. Ended up having a great experience and signed up after the trial!

Great gym with a really good and helpful team of trainers. The trainers are team incredibly helpful and always willing to assist and even give advice/corrections in the weight room outside of class. Both the members in the gym and the staff are great and I'm yet to have a negative interaction with anyone. They offer a multiple classes a day and you're free to cross-train and attend as many classes as you're physically able (except skill/age restricted classes)

I started doing online zoom boxing with Kombat Arts at the start of the pandemic. I was skeptical that enjoying or learning boxing over zoom was possible, but Joey, the instructor, made the classes really fun and clear, and each person in the "class" was given personal attention, and coaching to improve technique. If it wasn't far from me, I would be training in person at Kombat arts, but if you can't get there, I would for sure recommend training online. This is a superior gym with really generous, talented coaches who care about seeing their students progress. Awesome place!

I have my 7 year old daughter at kombat arts training with coach Mash for karate kickboxing..Coach Mash is absolutely incredible with the kids and passionate about the art! She is more then just a coach to the kids she is an amazing roll model for the kids and also teaches all the right things about self respect and self confidence which I believe is very important in the young.. my daughter can not wait and counts down the days hours for her next class...I could not be happier with her training and classes I would HIGHLY recommend this class to anyone looking to start and train in the art of karate kickboxing! Coach Mash is absolutely amazing!!

I'm currently training her for a kickboxing charity event, and I love it. We've had a number of different trainers throughout the process, all with unique training styles and all super helpful. They push you to your limit but with tons of support and constructive feedback. The membership are reasonable, and they have an upcoming summer camp for kids, which I highly recommend! Overall, it was (is) a great place to train, brush up on your skills, and learn new ones. They have a wide variety of fighting styles to choose from in an amazing and welcoming environment.

I started my boxing journey as a kid from a small town. Got scouted by Socrates in my early 20's growing up in the city, and I've been boxing under Kombat Arts for very many years now. Everyone will have their own experience and journey when it comes to any sports team or club. Same goes for the work place, or Uber services. My experience with boxing in general had it's ups and downs. But my coach Socrates, was my father figure. He watched me grow into the man that I have become, and Kombat Arts was my home away from home that kept me out of trouble. I am blessed to still have both my coach, and club. I respectfully disagree with those that say this place is not blue friendly. As a former federal peace officer and currently certified OFM/NFPA Firefighter, I can vouch that Kombat has been very supportive of all first responders (myself included). No matter which line of colour you represent. Non-biased, there are some other good/decent boxing clubs out there. It all depends on what you're looking for, and what you want to get out of it as a boxer. The boxing community now days is a very big family, in a very small world. So I've done my due diligence to keep a sharp image with them all. Nobody is perfect and it genuinely makes me upset to know that some have had a bad customer experience at Kombat. However to those who have, I whole heartedly wish you find your path and begin your journey at the club that is right for you. I am extremely proud to be part of the Kombat family, and I wouldn't want to go anywhere else.

Kombat Arts is one of the best self defence training facilities in Ontario for all ages. All of the staff are professional and friendly and go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Since reopening during COVID times, they have gone above and beyond the required safety protocols to ensure every visitor, teacher, and student is protected while on the premises. Whether you’re new to martial arts or you are a seasoned practitioner looking to add to your knowledge, give them a visit and speak to their staff. You won’t be disappointed.

Excellent place to learn some self defence skills. I took the 2 free trials led by Joey and May. Both exceptional teachers and will leave you hungry for more. The place has a strong community feel and newbies are welcomed right in. After each class you leave with a stronger skillset, confident attitude and a couple more friends. With no prior experience in boxing, I joined the gym just to try it out and I loved it. Mainly because of the welcoming community of kombat and great coaches. There are classes that cater to every level of experience and there is always something new to learn. Whether you’re looking for a good workout (best workout of your life) or to become competition ready, this is the place to be. Shoutout to coaches Pierce, Matt, Ron and Soc!

Kombat Arts just gets better and better. They offer a wide variety of martial arts styles to suit your interests, and employ a diverse staff who are not only knowledgeable in their craft, but will support you, push you, and ultimately help you achieve more than you thought possible. They offer strength and conditioning classes to complement the martial arts, physio sessions, self-defense classes, and an ever-expanding pro shop with professional gear, clothing, and consumables like Gatorade and protein shakes for when you forget to pack them in your gym bag. The best thing about this place is the feeling of family. Whether you missed a single class or an entire month, you're greeting with warmth and feel like part of the Kombat family.

Great gym! They offered a free trial for my 8 year old son which was such a great offer especially when you're not sure what level of commitment you'll get out of them at that age! Fortunately for us, coach Mash is fantastic! My son was determined and eager to sign up after his 1st hour with her. Happy to be a part of this gym moving forward! However, we do think they should do something about the class size .. The class size was way too big on Monday !! Maybe this was just a fluke ?There is no way each student will get the attention they deserve. We will see what the future classes bring!

Kombat Arts is one of the best gyms in Mississauga. Really love that when you walk in you feel like it's a community. Very family oriented and all the trainers are extremely professional. May made the experience worth joining. She helped correct my form and posture while striking something I or other gyms didn't really pay attention to before. I really appreciate May and all the trainers expertise there. They were humble, patient and very welcoming. I recommend this gym to beginners and experienced fighters

I hope I can shed some light on anyone wanting a fair review. I was a member of Kombat Arts for approximately 3 years. (I left because I moved over an hour away) My observations in that time is a gym that has a a family feel to it. The staff and owners care about your experience and are open to discussing anything. This is a true martial arts gym. Many different disciplines and fitness components to it. The facility is well maintained (deep cleaning done at regular intervals…come early if you want to see for yourself). Excellent instruction (I was a BJJ student) and even when staff leaves for new opportunities the new staff is fully competent and professional. My first instructor was fantastic and the new black belt professor Beckles is a long time member and highly respected instructor in the community. I have only positive things to say about the team at Kombat. No place is perfect but Kombat has an authentic feel to it and a caring ownership team that wants you to succeed. I highly recommend you to go in and see for yourself.

Kombat Arts is a hub for all people with varying levels of interest and skill to come together as a community and learn, practice, and develop their abilities in multiple disciplines from expert trainers and coaches. I prefer this environment to the typical impersonal cookie cutter Globo gym world. I’ve made friends here. Bring my family to just workout sometimes. Watched professional boxing matches. I’m really glad that I discovered this hidden gem.

Elijah Baltazar is a phenomenal coach and I can’t recommend him enough! My son has always struggled with bullying in school since he is usually one of the smaller boys in class. But just after a few months of classes with Coach Elijah, I clearly see that my son has gained discipline and confidence. I’m so glad with coach Elijah’s professionalism and care that he puts into every single one of his students.
