Friendly, honest, easy to work with staff, many nice items at the right price. Definitely the best pawnshop in thunder bay and the size is pretty impressive... I'm glad I got a good phone at a good price today thanks to Maxx pawn!!!!

This gentleman in the tools section who helped me was excellent. Deserves to be employee of the month, possibly year. In all seriousness, a large shop with great variety, and their staff was extremely helpful.

Max Pawn is The biggest pawn shop in Thunder Bay. They have a lots of things: from kids toys to adult hobbies, music instruments to working tools, bicycle to bikes, glasses to knives. You can also find a lot unique items here. The only thing that I rate this low is the price. You must check online before you come. By the way, it is a pawn shop then please feel free to negotiate for the reasonable price. LOL. In case of urgent, as buy something for compensating the broken things. LOL. They also buy gold here. I never try. One thing I don’t like is the light in shop always dim. Maybe they want to save electricity fee. :)

Rob was super friendly, and willing to negotiate the price. I came in to buy a Samsung phone for a relative, turned out, she didn’t like it, so we had to return it right away. He took the phone back and gave us a full refund. Other staffs are super friendly as well.

Best place to find great deals. After looking every where for a affordable phone for my 16 year old daughter I found one here for her, that was affordable in under 10 minutes with great service. Where verry happy and will be make Max pawn our first stop next time.

Honestly have nothing bad to say about these guys! I had my truck broken into and the next day I called them to keep an eye out, not even 5 hrs later it rolled through and I got a call instantly! even showed me who brought it in on their surveillance camera! SUPER SUPER SUPER thankful for these dudes for doing that!!

Very rude I have ADHD (and 15) and I felt very unwanted I was being made fun of for asking to many questions or pacing around and being told that I was wasting time when I was just trying to find the right thing. I will not be returning and I will not be recommending anybody to go. Still can’t believe you’d talk to a kid like that. And also made me feel uncomfortable so I had to buy something because I wasn’t buying anything so I need to stop wasting their time. And asking questions when I just wanted to talk about football cards (a passion of mine). But I was pushed away and told to stop wasting there time.

Not only is this a great shop offering an important service to our community, but it is also full of lovely human beings! They recovered my wallet for me and treated me with so much kindness and caring. Everyone was so generous and helpful, making what could have been a really bad day actually feel like I experienced something that was in fact exceptional. Thank you so much!
