Playa Del Niño is what I would call a local beach. It is relatively small, both in width and length, but it is very pleasant. It was the closest beach within walking distance to where I was staying, and served as my destination on days I needed a good healthy walk of approximately 45 minutes, one-way. I was in Cancun during peak season in November and December. The beach was only crowded on Saturdays and Sundays but by my observation, few tourists. It was clean, well maintained, safe, and has restroom facilities. If you are looking for fancy, large, and touristy, the hotel zone may be more to your liking. If authentic and local is your thing, try El Niño.

I love this little beach. Always large numbers of workers cleaning the beach, raking the sand and picking up debris. Lots of palapas and chairs. Bathrooms nearby. The swimming area is roped off, dividing swimmers and passing boats. Local police or marines ensure safety 24/7. The sea is shaded by Isla Mujeres making the waves smaller and without worries of rip tides. Overall, it is a friendly little beach used primarily by locals

Small nice beach without waves, perfect for kids. No gringos that we saw. The nearby seafood restaurants serve it as fresh as it comes. We went on a weekday and it was pretty quiet and relaxing. Great spot for authentic Mexico.

Amazing spot if you have a baby or toddler. We rented an Airbnb that’s 16 min walking distance from this beach. The road paved and stroller friendly. The beach super clean, the water very clear, and low waves which was very convenient for us as a family. There is showers and bathrooms, but you need to ask a lady there to open the shower for you, but if she is not there you can find the tool easily inside next to the faucets. Part of water has big rocks but it was fine for us because we just moved to the clear side. The area around full of in-house restaurants, people cook in their homes and sell food. We tried one of them, was great and cheaper than other kind of restaurants.

Nice beach, not a lot of waves. Not as beautiful as others, once you get in the water it is very rocky at first. Lots of places to eat nearby, they'll even bring the food and drinks to you.

Public beach, family place, clean, calm waves. There's places to eat nearby. Recommended

Nice enough beach for a few hours. Seemed like a more local experience and wasn't as nice as the beaches in the hotel zone. Lots of street vendors nearby and restaurants with fresh seafood. The waters were very calm and one of the locals compared it to a pool and def recommended that I make sure to see other beaches and get the full Cancun experience.

Pros: - Free - Shelter from rain - Food places nearby. Cons: - Very crowded when I went there in the afternoon, around 4pm. No space to sit as all the benches were taken. - You can sit on the sand, but there are ants near the boardwalk.

Best beach in Cancun for families. You can take a bus but also at walking distance. Very well kept, clean, has life guards and free public toilets. Many vendors and restaurants nearby. The water is shallow and really calm. Not so many people (mostly families), there are plenty of umbrellas and even a nice playground! Really worth for families with children!!

One of the most gorgeous beach at Cancun available to public without much tourists around, plenty of space for relaxation, and gentle waves

The seabed is full of rocks as is the sand. Easy to get to via r6 from downtown. This is a good beach if you want to get away from the tourists. A very local beach :) Lots of people selling snacks and floaties. Worth a visit to sit around but not to swim in. Wouldn't return.

I wouldn't like to swim there. Better to go to the hotel zone. Good to sit and breath here, but not to swim in my opinion. Many locals. Children are playing, clean beach in general...but i prefer zona hotelera obviously. Existing some restaurants and hotels nearby.

Hidden gem in Puerto Juárez. Small beach with palapas & a park for little kids with a swing. The restaurants near by will take your order from the beach & set up a table for you right on the sand. Get there early!

This is not the most beautiful beach in QROO but far, but it's high up on my list because it's so calm and peaceful. It's a beach mostly frequented by locals with their families. A great place to swim and just chill.

One of the sweetest places I went to... a "real" Mexican beach. It's tiny, but easy swimming, not big waves, great for families with small children and open water swim training. Check out the beachy restaurant/bars especially Roof Top (I think was the name...) - good food, better drinks, great music, upper floor with great views and friendly staff. Sunday nights there's a drag show a couple of doors down.

I loved this beach, just the first part of the water has a lot of gravel and can hurt your feet if you are very delicate. Just beautiful, a lot of good people and man if you can get those tours to isla mujeres from Pachos down the street of el niño Beach. We had an amazing time .🦀🏖

Great beach with a decent amount of restaurants around, great food by walking vendors like gorditas or empanadas, public washrooms, and showers.

The beach is beautiful and calm. The beach has all services and umbrella shades free. Vendors and plenty of food places nearby. There was much algae when we visited.

Went to isla mujeres from a small boat in playa niño. It was only 20$ per person and it was all day with inclusive food.

Nice beach but the water has some algae. There are many beach umbrellas and benches. The drinks are good but expensive (~180$)

Very nice beach and very little Sargasso because of the beach facing south. The beach is well named...It was crowded with many children! I'll assume far less people during the week or whenever school is in session.
