Possible
way
to
get
to
Resort
from
Airport--better
off
hitchhiking!!
I
understand
Discova
Americas
is
part
of
Olympus
Tours.
First,
we
have
travelled
7
times
to
the
Cancun
area
and
have
always
been
happy
to
book
a
private
transfer
from
the
airport.
Until
we
encountered
Discova.
We
booked
return
transport
in
a
'luxury
private
car'
along
with
our
resort
booking
(Hyatt
Zilara
Riviera
Maya)
as
it
seemed
simple.
After
several
weeks,
multiple
emails
and
calls
to
Hyatt
as
well
as
to
'Transport
Zilara'
which
is
the
name
Discova
uses
for
Hyatt
guests,
we
couldn't
get
confirmation
of
the
transportation.
We
left
home
without
it
and
their
email
arrived
while
we
were
in
transit
to
Cancun.
Not
ideal,
and
a
big
waste
of
time
following
up
with
them
when
we
were
trying
to
get
ready
to
go.
One
of
their
reps
told
me
we'd
have
to
go
to
the
"Welcome
Bar"
to
meet
the
driver,
which
concerned
me
as
prior
pickups
were
at
the
airport
doors,
but
when
the
instructions
arrived
they
were
quite
clear.
On
exiting
the
airport,
we
found
the
Discova
rep
with
a
sign
that
had
our
name
on
it--always
a
happy
sight--along
with
8
or
10
other
names.
He
told
us
to
go
wait
by
the
wall
and
he'd
get
our
driver.
We
were
patient
for
20
minutes,
then
went
back
to
inquire
and
were
fobbed
off
with
comments
about
the
traffic
(when
is
the
traffic
NOT
bad
at
Cancun
airport
at
1PM?)
and
some
accident.
We
were
tired,
thirsty
and
needed
to
use
a
bathroom,
but
he
told
us
we
had
to
wait
there,
standing
with
our
luggage
in
big
crowds
of
people
leaving
the
airport.
We
found
a
taxi
who
quoted
$70
for
a
private
ride
but
the
Discova
rep
said
we'd
forfeit
the
$268
we
paid
for
round-trip.
After
55
minutes
standing
in
the
sun
and
multiple
inquiries
and
watching
many
other
groups
arrive
and
leave
with
their
drivers,
the
rep
walked
us
through
the
parking
areas
to
an
old
rattley
van
with
a
pleasant
driver.
They
didn't
have
the
promised
ice
water
and
beer,
but
rounded
up
a
warm
beer
for
my
husband.
I
had
to
ask
the
driver
to
stop
at
a
convenience
store
for
water
as
I
was
feeling
quite
ill.
Just
to
make
us
very
sure
we
never
wanted
to
see
Discova
again,
they
told
us
we
had
to
be
picked
up
for
our
return
8:30
AM
flight
at
3:30
AM.
For
what
purpose??
The
traffic
at
4
or
5
AM
is
not
that
bad,
the
resort
was
45
minutes
from
the
airport.
It
was
a
private
car
so
no
other
pickups.
We
refused
to
use
their
transfer
back
and
the
Hyatt
did
waive
the
fee.
We
got
a
car
through
another
company
for
5AM
and
were
at
the
airport,
checked
in
and
through
security
by
6:10
with
nearly
2
hours
to
spare.
