If you are coming from the USA, go on and have your own pesos and practiced Spanish phrase for “not today “ responses before going, unless you like to haggle. They don’t let up!!!! They have great things in the shopping plaza, but just don’t buy the same day you visit. Look around and take a mental note. Remember the prices. Go to your hotel and decide which vendors you want to buy the gifts from. ( all of it’s the same* and the deal offered will be available when you return.)

Impossible to look without being harassed. I was going to buy souvenirs but ended up walking out & going to the supermarket that has a souvenir section. Better prices & I was able to look at things without being constantly yelled at by vendors

Loved the ambiance, the fact that all of these were locals and willing to haggle was just so much fun. Picked up some local t-shirts and tequila. The tasting that the shop owners provided was just so much fun then the tequila tours

Buyers beware they over price items items we cheaper at the hotel resorts by 50% my kids negotiated with them and bought items at 20% of the original price given. We spoke English around them they understood but the thought we didn't speak Spanish and your can hear them advising them to mark up the prices. So beware

Was not very impressed with this flea market. The vendors are extremely pushy and do not make it a pleasant experience. Every store has the exact same goods that are all made in China. I was hoping this market to be more like the street/flea markets that are found in Puerto Vallarta but sadly this was not the case

The place is great for getting some authentic artisan. Some things are really unique, while others you can also get on any other store. BE READY TO BARGAIN!!!! These shops mark up almost 400% for tourists. We spent a few hundred dollars, which could have been thousands easily if not for bargaining. But we managed to get some pretty good stuff. DO NOT buy FROM THE FIRST SHOP YOU VISIT.. There are some shops inside the market, which do not have street side visibility and hence people tend to not go there. But those shops have good stuff and better prices.

Went here instead of going all the way into downtown/Mercado 23 or 28 since our hotel was on the south end of the hotel zone and there was so much yelling at you! It’s so annoying! I don’t like to be yelled at when I’m shopping. I am NOT an impulse shopper and I don’t like being watched constantly. Good lord when will they learn that Americans do not enjoy being shouted at. It makes me feel like cattle. Ugh

We had a great time heckling over prices with various sellers at the flea market. Be aware that every single seller will try to get you to come into their shop. Just chat and have fun with them, though. It's all a part of the fun. It is all souvenirs; hats, shirts, blankets, etcetera inside the market.

Awesome market! I was able to get my engagement ring resized here in 30 minutes for 30 dollars. They did an amazing job and gave me the leftover piece of gold. Bought some cigars and tshirts from another vendor who is of Mayan heritage and went into great detail with sharing the story and history behind the designs of the Mayan art on the shirts we purchased. Incredible. Explained a ton about cigars and the do’s/don’ts with certain brands. The same dealer then escorted us to the taco vendor that “only they go to”, located tucked away behind the Mercado. They take any form of payment. Tacos were great! Beef and cheese empanada was my favorite - SO good. We also ordered horchata and pina fresca - very good and massive size. The tacos were just OK - we ordered el pastor and steak. Not much flavor on either taco and the el pastor had zero pineapple. They were edible but disappointing. Paid $20 USD for our entire meal so it was a great value!

Wonderful Flea market with bargain deal in shops. There are some food stores that have tacos and burritos in reasonable price.

Be extremely careful there, I asked around for gold jewelry, some guy brought me directly to a store, the seller pretended that it is 18kt gold but it was stamped 18kt GF which means gold filled which is goldplated. I happen to be a watchmaker and know about gold hallmarks but to all of you BEWARE. Always ask for the Mexican authority certificate of gold purity. Mexico is reputed to scam tourists, they see them as walking ATM!

Amazing selection of beautiful crafts etc! Horribly aggravating experience with aggressive, annoyingly persistent shopkeepers. * TBH, only 1/3 of the shopkeepers are annoying, but that’s enough. ** Make sure to barter - ie, don’t act too interested, and be prepared to walk away and watch the price drop.

People are very pushy. As well and touchy, trying to force you into their stores. It was definitely an experience, to say the least. We did love all of our items we purchased here! Great things to check out and look out! Tons to choose from, and they are willing to negotiate.

Love this market, close to all the restaurants, beach and stores in cancun. Lots of vendors and options, jewelry, cigars, clothes and souvenirs.

Without a doubt this is the main market place on the island of Cancun. Its fun, vibrant, and super friendly! Best location to grab some souvenirs, textiles, oddities, drinks while you shop, and some very economical food stands. On the back end of the market you have some stores that have a greater selection of clothing options and of much greater quality/value. This Market undoubtedly has the greatest concentration of souvenirs on the island. Fun Tip: The market has a 'Fat Tuesdays", stop and get a tall delicious daiquiris to enjoy while you shop.

It's a flea market with relentless badgering by the shop owners. Everything here is open to negotiation. In most cases you can take them down 45-50% of the asking price. I wanted to buy Cuban cigars. The average asking price was $11 to $12 per cigar based on a 12 count. My final walk off was $5.50 each. My wife made a great deal on some silver jewelry. A fun place to go if you don't mind the constant hassle.

Of all the markets we attended in Cancun this one was probably the pushiest. The people sometimes can be very impolite while trying to hustle you into their booths. Many of their items are not kid-friendly and of course everyone wants to give you a sample of tequila! Families beware!

Pricy prepare yourself to haggle. Everyone is calling you to go to their shop can get to be a bit annoying. If you like to haggle this is the spot for you.

Absolutely a must-do! The market is wall to wall with vendors selling everything from glow in the dark t-shirts and shot glasses to henna tattoos, custom bracelets and one of a kind souvenirs. Every single vendor will try to get you to come into their shop for 'one mexican minute' so it can get a little overwhelming. But if you set aside the time to browse and have fun visiting/haggling with the vendors, you will find some beautiful items and incredible deals.

Prepare to be hustled at every stop. Great for us because we love to haggle but otherwise most of the items in every shop are the same or similar. I'd be careful here especially at night. Was offered a lot more than merchandise. Decent for a quick in and out souvenir.

The market offers a lot of variety but it is extremely expensive. They basically triple the price or more when they quote. There are two shops across the street at the Forum mall. The prices are non negotiable but significantly cheaper. All prices are quoted in USD and MXN. It works out cheaper to pay in USD.

Convenient as located inside hotel zone and buses pass right by it. You can get a better deal here than other markets with preset prices if you are willing to haggle, otherwise you're going to get hosed by the tourist mark up. Sellers are quite aggressive, but I found the experience fun. If you don't want to haggle or deal with the aggressive sales people, go to market 28.

Sales people are very pushy and won't leave you alone at all. Overpriced junk is what they all sell..same stuff in every store..

I just left Cancun on August 31, 2022 and beware of the first guy by the sidewalk. He said he was going to give me a good deal $80 and when I paid with my card he charged me $118. BE CAREFUL w/ these Vendors!!!!!!!

This is a well stocked haggle your own price flea market. Keep everyone together. They like to try and split ya up to look not a good idea. Always ask how much first in dollars.

A nice spot to pick up souvenirs BUT they would not let you shop in piece. Constantly harassing you to look at this or look at that. Come in my shop and they don’t take no for an answer. I did meet some nice workers in there that recommend that I go to the grocery store down the street to buy some Spanish books for my son, which no one in the flea market had

It was a good experience. But it seemed as if almost all the vendors were selling the same stuff. You have to try to get the prices down if you really want something.

  • 2/5 FENXX E. 1 year ago on Google
Very aggressive sellers they will charge u over price for everything even for parking. We couldn't really enjoy ourselves the food was water done over price. I wouldn't go back unless I was on a tourists resort. The beach not clean and there's men holding toilet paper for charge in the public beach bathroom very unreal we were to scard to go anywhere else

We went upstairs for lunch. Nice balcony area with 4 different restaurants to choose from that you can choose from with the same server. I could also see the beach area being a fun weekend spot with the large outdoor entertainment stage & sound system.

We love this shopping area, centrally located in the hotel zone. Lots of variety, from jewelry to toys to clothes. Little bit of everything mexico here and great prices. Everything is subject to negotiations, shop around before you buy and find the best deals.
