This was one of my favorite restaurants when visiting Cancun. To start, the service was great. The waiters were very attentive and so nice. The atmosphere was also really romantic and cute. We sat outside near the water. The food was also amazing for such a great price!! It was very fresh and well made. We ordered the lobster bisque, crab cake, crabby patty and flamed crispy coconut shrimp. All of the food was well prepared and they give generous portions. We were so full but struggled to try to finish because it was so good. I highly recommend and would gladly go back on my next trip to Cancun.

Fred’s was a fantastic experience for my wife and I. The service as well as the food were excellent. Our appetizer was huge and very good. Our meals were tasty and of high quality. They then brought us free desert to celebrate our honeymoon with a firework in it. It was so fun and everyone was so nice! We spent around $75 after the tip and without any drinks. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some fresh quality seafood !

Absolutely stunning spot right across the street from our resort. Service was top notch right from the start and continued until we left. Loved the special cocktail prepared at our table and served in a real coconut with Fred's stamped on it....very cool. First time eating fish that was served whole...took me back for a moment but loved it. And the DJ seemed to read our minds and played everything we love. Very romantic evening on the water... beautiful sunset view.

Little expensive but the experience worth it! Kids loved their play area, and we loved the ambience and wonderful breeze with some excellent food. Valley parking made life easier. We tried different fish items, and cooked well with spices. Overall great experience, a good start to see Mexico Cancun.

Good food. Good views. Excellent dessert and tempura tartare. Reservations highly recommended. We did an early dinner and got in before the crowds. My one gripe is the inconsistency of the service. Our waiter didn't come by when our waters had been empty for a while, so we proceeded to refill it ourselves—then he appears out of nowhere and takes the bottle from us to pour it, but with a noticeable attitude about it. In general the service also seemed impersonal and we felt like we were just bodies taking up seats. One of the area managers came by to check on us, which I appreciated.

Very nice location option, part of a bigger restaurant group. The main reason to go there is the very well done ambiance, with a DJ, tons of show cooking and sparklers going around on top of the food. The service is very good and attentive, surprisingly not overwhelmed by tourists, and always willing to work with a smile. They are knowledgeable about the food and were always smiling. The food, as expected, is not gonna be the best or most flavorful around, as it happens in chain restaurants. But it certainly hits the spot and takes away the craving of a nice ceviche. It is worth to mention that the food really takes some time to arrive.

My favorite restaurant in Cancun. First and foremost the food and service are 5 stars. You are waited on by countless professionals that cater to your every need. We always get the octopus. The appetizer version and the octopus and bone marrow are amazing. Fresh fried grouper always comes out immediately and crispy yet tender and delicious. Great wine and drink selection and the ambiance and views are perfect. Been over a dozen time and will be back.

This is a great place to eat in Cancun. I’m flight crew and I can assure you this is a frequent stop when in Cancun. A lot pilots and flight attendants eat here often. Food is always good, prices are reasonable and the staff is incredible. I’d like to shout out Luis and Rafa in particular, y’all are the best!

Maybe this is more like a 3.5. We have a few complimentary items (and ended up ordering too much food). The service and atmosphere was nice. The octopus, bread, and soup were good. I would skip the salmon sashimi type dish. The fish and chips were okay. Pricier than another spot we went to on the same strip but tastier.

One word… Amazing!!!!! We made reservations through the JW Marriott and we got to watch the sunset from our private bungalow. The food was to die for and the service was top notch. Denis and Daniel took great care of us! Raul convinced us to get a Christmas dessert and it was worth it! Highly recommend!!!!!

It's our Birthday month. My wife and I decided to visit Cancun. She had recommendations that we should do dinner at Fred's. They even told her the table to request 61, 60 or 59 in that order. We arrive and from that moment the magic began. Care about the sun may be to bright at this time for those tables(we had our shades). Our server Cruz was very knowledgeable and patient. His awareness of the menu was awesome. Our choices were so tasty. The dessert came with sparkling candles and a serenade from staff (happy birthday song). Ohhhhhh and a glass of Champagne. Then Edwin the Head Server visits the table and has a purposeful conversation about how service and the meal was prepared. Our 15 year old said " this is a fancy restaurant " (yes she enjoyed her food also) Thank You FRED'S! Very impressive ‼️ YESSSSS we will recommend anyone to dine at Fred's.

The experience at Fred’s was absolutely amazing!! From the moment my family and I walked in, the staff were so friendly to us and gave us some of the best service I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Abraham and Oscar were our servers and they were so kind and extremely attentive to us. On top of the stellar service, the food was delicious! We ordered the Neptune Surf and Turf (feeds 4) along with three appetizers and dessert and everything was amazing. They also gave my sister a cake for her birthday and coconut candies at the end of the night. I would definitely come back here again!!

I cannot say enough great things about this place to do it justice. If you’re in Cancun, it’s an absolute must! From start to finish Fred’s is absolutely amazing. Yes, the view adds to the ambience but the anticipatory service was stellar. It starts with the gentleman host on the sidewalk to welcome you in. Followed by the wonderful and hostesses. Most importantly, the phenomenal service from Fausto and Jordy. The managing staff were very attentive and made sure every guests had a fantastic experience. They want you and your family to enjoy your time there. So much, they offer a “Freddie’s room” for kids to play in a safe area without disrupting the other patrons. Who ever thought of that needs an award!

was there in early June 2023 for lunch. Got a table right away as it was not crowded. Got the food on time and the portions were right. The quality of food was not at the level of what other reviews were talking about . It is part of chain owned by the same group that owns many top tier restaurants in CANCUN area. The best part was the service. 'Raul' and his partner were wonderful at every step of the way until we finished the lunch. Raul was very attentive and polite in answering all our questions. Ask for Raul, you would not be disappointed even if the food is not great.

We had an amazing dinner at Fred’s House… service was impeccable. I can’t say enough about the staff who were so attentive and pleasant! The food was delicious and so were the cocktails. We will definitely be back and recommend this to everyone.

I liked the place, good service, clean place, prices are so so. The food wasn’t exceptional but was tasty, really flavorful. They have a lot of options for your cravings. The quality of the dishes is really nice.

What a wonderful experience to end our trip in Cancun. LUIS & PEDRO took care of us and were the friendliest and most helpful , along with so professional. Could not ask for better service. My favorite dish was the tuna tostada. Sorry I ate it all before snapping a picture! The flavors on it were spectacular. The oysters were delicious and fresh, and the crispy crab tacos and lobster Mac were excellent. The star of this restaurant though is definitely the staff. 10/10

The view and location for this restaurant are okay but the food is horrible. The waiter recommended us a seafood platter and it was a very small portion of seafood that regarding to him was for 2 people but even 2 girls can’t full by that small portion of seafood not to mention the price was 4100 pesos. So we ordered more main courses but all of them are really oily and salty. Their cocktails taste bad too. Pay attention to the bill when he give it to you, he added 15% tips on it without telling you about it. If you’re not pay attention to the bill and the light was very dim, you would be paying more without noticing the tips are already included. Overall, the experience we had was very bad and it ruined my mood for the whole night.

We went here for our final dinner in Cancun. It had pretty good ratings, & the wife wanted seafood. I'd made reservations, but at first they said they only had availability inside. I said we were disappointed, as we were celebrating our anniversary & had hoped to sit next to the water. They asked us to wait a few minutes (we were 15 minutes early anyway), then sat us next to the lagoon. Our server was very fast & very friendly. The wife doesn't usually get an appetizer, as she fills up & can't finish main meal, so she contented herself with bread while I had the lobster bisque. It was very nice, but I don't think it was the best I'd ever had. Maybe second best. For the main meal, the wife got grilled salmon, which was a generous portion with some nice, spicy sauces. She enjoyed it very much. I'm not a huge seafood eater, so I went for the fish & chips, which were actually very nice, with a tangy tartar sauce & another mango-pineapple sauce. I didn't care for that too much as it was too sweet for my taste. We weren't planning on having dessert, as we were going to stop back at the hotel restaurant for churros; however, the server brought over a little dessert cake with a Roman candle spraying out the top for our anniversary. It was topped with some biscuits, which I ate, because the cake itself was very sweet. Neither of us could finish due to the sweetness and being full. We were really full by this point, but they finished off the meal with two small coconut balls under a small palm tree. Overall, it was a very nice experience; however, the food delivery was very slow. I'd say we sat well over half an hour before we received our main course. The manager did come over & apologize, serving us a complimentary guacamole dip with pork rind wafers. The place is pretty large & was very busy, with servers & busboys running around, but I guess the kitchen couldn't keep up. We heard another customer complaining about the length of time it took for her food. Still, we were in no hurry so we would definitely dine here again.

The perfect atmosphere...if you want quiet fancy dining, the indoor dining space is perfect...if you want something a little more lively but still manageable (where you can still hold a conversation), the outdoor space is great. We dined here twice during our stay in Cancun, once for a birthday celebration, and used both spaces. Services is top notch, food is great. For my part, I recommend the coconut crusted Shrimp that gets flamed in front of you or the ribeye burger. The burger just melts in your mouth. Great place for a fancier dinner if you are visiting Cancun.

Restaurant was one of the best I went to while in Cancun. Carlos Leon was my waiter and he was excellent. Nice touch of the manager to come by and check on us as well. Location is perfect right on the water. Perfect for sunset watching. We tried: crab cakes (5/5) one of the best I’ve had anywhere Tuna tartar (4/5) Fresh oysters (5/5) Shrimp tacos (5/5) Tsuamisu (5/5) presentation was excellent

Fred’s was absolutely an amazing experience! What a perfect way to spend the last night of our family vacation by finally going off property to enjoy some FRESH AND DELICIOUS SEAFOOD! Everything there is delicious, the staff is on top of every little detail and request, and the restaurant is clean and beautiful. My parents and I had a beautiful table right on the water. We enjoyed oysters and my mother had a shot of Don Julio 1942! Nothing but top shelf for her. Our waitress, Claudia was so friendly and informative. She guided us through the menu and showed us pictures of everything we asked about. My mother had a lobster tail that was out of this world delicious, I’m a bit jealous I didn’t get it as well. My dad got the flaming coconut shrimp, which they lit on fire right at our table! It was so much fun and the flavors were incredible. I had tuna mingon wrapped in bacon on a bed of mashed potatoes and served with asparagus. We finished with the Matilda cake and coconut cheesecake. Warning: the dessert portions are HUGE! BUT OH SO DELICIOUS! If you are looking for a fun place to eat with delicious seafood, beautiful presentation and a lively atmosphere, Fred’s is the place. I really enjoyed the live DJ who played happy, up tempo music at the perfect level (not too loud, not too soft). Really fun dinner. I also appreciated that Daniel (the manager) stopped by our table to make sure we were happy. Great service and great food! What more can you ask for? If I’m ever in Cancun again, I’ll be eating at Fred’s!

Food was really good, and the views are amazing. Only thing that kept it from a 5 star review was the lack of speed for the food. Just over 90 minutes from sitting down till we finished a fish sandwich and the fish and chips. Again, both tasted excellent, and were really good portions.

Best experience we’ve had on our vacation in Cancun. Staff was extremely attentive and food and came out quite punctually. Dany and Claudia took great care of us and made sure our night was amazing. Amazing view, delicious food, would highly recommend.

Service was really good, staff was very attentive We ordered the Baja clams and oysters, but were fresh and yummy Other entrees were tuna tartare and guacamole but no need to order both as the tuna had a lot of avo in it already. Both were delicious Mains were the lobster roll and coconut shrimp. We also enjoyed both. The staff also gave us complimentary dessert which was quite nice All up the total was US$130 with no drinks. Reason for the 4 star: - the bread was a bit stale and too sweet - we were served packaged tortilla chips which was quite strange - bottled water was $7!

We ate here on a Friday night. Had dinner reservations for 2. We requested outside with a view. I guess you have to be pretty specific with your view request. Our view was trees. Not sure why they wouldn’t just trim down the trees for the entire deck. There were at least 4 other tables 2 and 4 top available for at least 25 minutes while we were there. I did notice there was some nicer table tops with huts over them. I asked about these and was told you must reserve “well in advance” . The reviews about pushing $7 Evian water is true, as well as the cocktail drinks are expensive, at least $15 or more. Also the staff does stand around literally waiting for you to finish so they can take your plate. It felt very rushed. The Dj was a bit much, the music was loud and it was more of the techno dance music. Very surprising for this “upscale restaurant”. Maybe save the Dj music for after 9? The JW Marriott has much better food and the prices are night and day compared to Fred’s. I ordered the Alaskan snow crab legs and it was 2800 pesos and you got what you see in the picture. Just the crab and no sides. The food was good, which is why I am giving 2 stars. This place is highly overrated, and over priced, I would not recommend.

It’s my birthday and was only in for a drink and appetizer.. Glad I decided to sit and enjoy the food and atmosphere that was all amazing. My waiter Roger was so attentive and kind, always two steps ahead. Fausto was definitely on top of everything and working with Roger to assure my dining experience was nothing short of amazing. Thank you both and compliments to the chef.

Husband got sick from the fish special, I enjoyed my salmon meal (a bit dry) though and the lobster taco app was very tasty. Lobster bisque was also good. Mashed potatoes were very tasty. The drinks were also great. I think it was the chili on his fish that made him sick.

I've been to Cancun before and have yet to try this place! We drove by and just decided to stop to kill some time and they did not disappoint :) grilled sea bass with garlic mojo was top tier if you're into flavor! Jose and Carlos were great servers, Jose was very informative and knowledgeable with the menu and Jose was on top of things the whole time! Inside of the restaurant is super cute, perfect for aesthetically pleasing photos! We showed up without a reservation but they were so chill with letting us dine with them anyways. 10/10 would recommend.

Fred's Restaurant was one of the restaurants we visited while in Cancun and I must say, we were thoroughly impressed! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by the exceptional staff, who went above and beyond to ensure that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. One of the things that stood out to us the most was the restaurant's beautiful outdoor seating area. Not only did they have a gorgeous open sun option, but they also had a cozy gazebo-style setting that was absolutely breathtaking. We couldn't help but be in awe of the stunning water view that accompanied our dinner, it truly added to the overall ambiance of the restaurant. But it wasn't just the setting that was exceptional, the service was equally impressive. The staff was attentive and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our meal. They were friendly, helpful, and truly seemed to care about their customers. And the food? Well, let's just say it was nothing short of amazing. The menu had a wide variety of options, and everything we tried was awesome. We particularly enjoyed the seafood dishes, which were fresh and flavorful!

This was the best food I’ve ever had in Cancun & maybe even US to be honest! Seafood was so fresh, cocktails were perfect, the place was so aesthetically pleasing and beautiful views. Most importantly the service was by far the best I’ve ever had. 10/10 recommend to anyone visiting Cancun!! Raul was seriously the best, so fun and attentive and Roger was so helpful!! Thank you for making our trip!

We loved the views of lagoon and our food. We shared the lobster and roasted salmon dinners. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. The only negative comment was that the dj music was too loud, taking away from the obeisance of the restaurant. We also experienced slower service than many of the other Cancun restaurants.

This was a perfect dining experience. We were taken care of from the time we stepped onto the property. Everything about the menu was explained and understood. The view was breathtaking. We were truly wowed by the taste and presentation of our food. We showed up right at closing time and they still took us in and gave us the absolute best customer service and didn’t try to rush us out. We enjoyed our food, dessert, and beautiful view of the lagoon. Thank you! We highly recommend this restaurant!

Great staff, friendly, prompt and always Johnny on the spot. Food was good but not superb for the prices definitely paying for the entertainment factor. Lobster Mac n cheese and lobster quesadillas were very good. Salmon was good asparagus needed some help. Overall food was a bit bland and proteins seemed over cooked. A little salt would have went a long way. Desserts were great crepe cake. Birthday dessert was good. We had 2 appetizers and five meals almost 5k pesos about $300 USA.

I was able to go to this place for my birthday. It was a suggestion from Ocean spa hotel in Cancun. The food was great. The chef was great. The service was great. You can ask for anymore. I have the surf and turf plentiful for two people. We took leftovers to go. The price point was great considering it was a surf and turf course meal.

I am so glad I came here, because I usually go to my favorite restaurant, which is Taboo Mediterranean Restaurant, but this now has become my favorite restaurant.....on the hotel zone! When I reserved my reservation, I kept sending them messages, asking if I could reserve a villa, but I did not get a response....so when I showed up, they were so gracious enough to let me eat within a villa, because at the time it was not that busy. I believe normally to get a villa you have to have a certain amount of people in your group and/or maybe spend a certain amount of money (alcohol) and I was solo. To me, the prices were decent. I know some people said pricey on the reviews, but I felt it was ok. The presentation was nice and the food tasted really good! I wasn't sure if I wanted to get the lobster mac, or the salmon dish and my server recommended the salmon dish....which it tasted so well seasoned!!! The place is very beautiful, everyone was so nice and friendly and rushed to serve me. Christopher, the Mgr made it happen for me to sit in the villa, so thank you Chris!!!!! I will definitely be back!

Great food amazing service. Abraham and Alonso were excellent servers as well as all of the other people who assisted us. Would highly recommend. Not a restaurant for people on a budget but if you have a splurge night this is a good choice. Also an added Bonus is Poncho the crocodile shows up and you can see him from the patio seating.
