Excellent dinner place 👍 Our hotel receptionist recommended this place and we are very happy we went there. Excellent food quality and service. Restaurant is fairly clean throughout. Prices are reasonable for this higher standards place. Around dinner time this place got very busy, so I suggest you book a table ahead.

There are different menus for dinner and lunch. We were welcomed at lunch with a refreshing tea. The drinks are very fresh and extremely tasty. A nice selection of typical Indonesian food. My satai was delicious, well seasoned and sufficient quantity. My colleague had the duck and was not satisfied - too little meat too much fried skin. It is rather an expensive restaurant. The ambience is very nice.

After reconsidering, we give Ulekan 4 out of 5 points. The reason for that is the meager duck we had, which almost only felt like fried bones with crispy crust. The mussels + shrimps were great, and I also enjoyed the sauces of the duck and my lychee coconut drink. What really turned our review for the better is the service and attentiveness of the staff, who really tried to make their best effort. When leaving the restaurant, the whole staff waived goodbye, including the parking guys. So, I would give the place another try ... keep it up! Price point was 550K incl. one glass of wine, so fair pricing, and the atmosphere is also highly enjoyable.

Certainly a great restaurant with authentic cuisine and nice dishes but definitely charging tourist prices. For a meal and drinks, it looks to be about 400-500k per person. Great service with a free small ice tea in arrival. Each main dish for sharing is about 150-250k which is quite expensive. Munduk mule: SS, 9/10. Really excellent with a vanilla twist on the usual Moscow mule. Beef rendang: S+, 8.5/10. Very coconutty and well spiced. Could be more spicy and bigger portion. Sate ayam: SS, 9/10. One of the best I've had. More chilli and peanut would be even better Sate ikan: S+, 8.5/10. Also excellent but not quite as juicy as chicken Yellow and red rice: A, 7/10. Quite nice but expensive at 25k per bowl. Grilled barramundi: A+, 7.5/10. Decent but pales a little in comparison Jackfruit curry: SS, 9/10. Light and flavoursome with tender jackfruit. Way better than expected Seafood curry: S, 8/10. Similar to the jackfruit curry in flavour profile but slightly thinner Pork ribs: A+, 7.5/10. A bit dry though the flavours are good.

Great beef rendang and satay in a very nice atmosphere. Service was sub par as we had to wait a very long time for our check. They also add taxes and gratuity so be sure to add that to your calculations. Otherwise great experience and I always enjoy a welcome drink!

The best meal we had in Bali by far! First of all, the restaurant is beautifully decorated and has a great atmosphere - it's very open air but still cool with the fans. They start your service with some tasty iced tea that is quite refreshing. The menu is full of traditional flavors and creative combinations - you cannot go wrong with anything you choose. We asked for them to make things 'much less spicy' and the staff was happy to help and also pointed out a few menu items we would enjoy based on this request. Everything we ordered was packed with flavor, succulent and so fresh. The restaurant puts a focus on sourcing their ingredients locally and you can certainly tell how much they care from the quality of their food. Add this spot to your must visit list when you're in Bali, you will not be disappointed!

Had lunch here and it was superb. Every dish was delicious. Love the heavy use of Indonesian herbs and spices. Aromatics used in each dish were perfect. Great price point as well. A bit warm in the afternoon as its an open space. Will try it again but during dinner time!

The first time we went to Ulekan in 2019, we stumbled upon it whilst we were out and about looking for dinner. Not kidding, we literally followed the scent of mouth-watering barbecued meats wafting out from the restaurant, before ending up there. Much to our pleasant surprise, we found out that Ulekan served halal meats as well (at the time). The design and ambiance of the restaurant feels pretty luxurious. The atmosphere there is buzzing yet somehow still intimate. As gorgeous as the place was, the food was even more amazing. Among our party of four, we shared an assortment of sate, the nearly melt-in-your-mouth Rendang Sapi, Ayam Lalapan, Karedok (a favourite of mine), a side of fresh ulam (raw salad) and an assortment of spicy, fresh sambals to our choosing; all of which went along with steamed rice. Everything looked immaculate and tasted heavenly. Ulekan doesn't just do authentic Balinese food well, they elevate it to a whole other level. All of us at the table took turns mewling, groaning and whimpering with each bite we took. We came back for lunch the next day for the Nasi Campur and another serving of the Beef Rendang. Best Nasi Campur I've personally had in Bali. Definitely a must-try. Wahyu was our server for both our dinner and lunch, and his service was impeccable. His sunny yet calm disposition was so warm and inviting, and so typical of Balinese hospitality. He remembered how disappointed we were when we couldn't order the Signature Balinese Banofee (which was excellent, by the way) the night before, and offered it to us on the house for lunch. The attention and care shown was totally unexpected and blew us away. It's hard to find such amazing halal food experiences and certainly hope they continue to serve halal food (although from recent knowledge, it seems that they sell pork now). Couldn't rate this place more highly. Easily one of my most enjoyable dining experiences. We hope you guys can go back to halal meats again! Best wishes.

Very yummy food, especially the mi goreng which was the tastiest I’ve ever had during my time in Bali. They also serve ginger iced tea which was complimentary welcome drink. Also had nasi goreng which was good and gado- gado (so so)

Very nice indonesian food restaurant in the Canggu area. When we sat down, there was immediately welcome drink and complimentary crackers served. We each ordered our own mains and a few starters to share. I had the Nasi Campur deluxe which was very good and very big portion too. The plate came with some corn fritters, beef, sambal chicken (super tasty) vegetables and nuts. The table shared some corn fritters which was hot and crispy as well as pork sate. The pork sate was one of the best i ever had in Bali. That alone is worth making a trip down. Service, as with most of Bali, is impeccable and always with a smile

Food was really excellent! We especially enjoyed the beef rendang and clams. They were really well done. The beef was tender and extremely fragrant. You can tell it is really well seasoned. Must also order the sambal chili with shallots as it was really great. Can skip the vegetables, it is too salty.

The food and atmosphere was great! Had a Arak cocktail to start and it was really yummy. The clam starter had this delicious sambal which was drool-worthy. The local greens (I don’t know what vegetable they were) was very interesting and appetising. Pork ribs was a little dry for me but the side condiments made it palatable.

The food is amazing, especially the clams—we ordered two portions. The staff is friendly. The corn cob was tasty, the curry chicken was aromatic with a rich coconut sauce, and the beef cheek was well marinated. The long bean had a unique taste (not to my liking though). While portions are quite small, they are of high quality. They even serve iced tea as a welcome drink! Point of improvement: Rice is undercooked, abit hard.

But what is amazing is the food : The Urutan Asap was delicious The Tuna Naniura was to die for The Soto Ayam was beautiful And the cocktail…we ordered Spicy Margarita…real deal ! If you do come here, you definitely need to order the beef short ribs, the satay lilit and the beef rendang. Not saying that the other items we tried weren't good but these blew us away. Really glad we decided to come here.

Fantastic service, great ambience, delicious menu and overall an experience not to be missed!! The highlight for us was the pork knuckle, it was incredibly crispy and the meat was juicy. Served with a green mango salad it was definitely a great dish, definitely to be shared. Only regret is that we didn’t get to try the chicken noodle soup which sounded delish, but we had already over-ordered.

Cocktails were average by international standards, but some of the better ones we had this trip in Bali. I’d recommend the Palomade as a good cocktail choice. Presentation can be fancier but taste is good. Would revisit!

Absolutely go here for the best Indonesian cuisine ever. The coconut chicken curry is so creamy and delicious and perfectly spiced. Glad I always go to restaurants with my besties meaning we share everything and can taste loadsa stuff and sample lots on the menu. The chicken sate is the best I’ve ever had as is the pork sate. And the nasi goreng was also incredibly correct. The off the cob corn is on the spicy side, but still deeelish. Definitely go here for bang local cuisine.

I came here with a group of local friends for dinner. This is the 2nd visit for me. I loved the food on my first visit, and it didn't disappoint; my friends loved it. I loved the interior right from the entrance; it was already very appealing. I love the vibe and energy; there was already a crowd for early seating slots. Service was impeccable, and on the ball. The food is extraordinary, they are serving Indonesian food, and with the communal dining concept, every dish is a good portion to share. Loved the desserts too, especially the "beng beng cheesecake", a spin-off from the childhood favourite Indonesian chocolate bar (must try). One more plus point for the restaurant is they have parking lots in front of the restaurant, which is a rarity in this area.

One of my favourite restaurants in Bali. I came back to eat here about 4 times. Great food, friendly staff, and nice atmosphere. The beef rendang and the lamb shank were delicious! Really enjoyed the baby eggplant to have on the side as well. And the Negroni and Balinese banoffee pie as a nice treat to finish off were perfect. Oh and also the sambal bajak was very tasty. Thanks for the amazing food guys!

We came early without a reservation and I guess we where lucky they had room for us since it was fully booked But I am glad I could enjoy it because it was delicious !
