This place is across our villas. It was always empty so that is why we didn’t stop. Today I was too hungry to go around and I made amazing decision to stop. Amazing view. The service is top. And the food is in the top 3 I have tried in the previous 2 weeks. I’m so happy I have 2 more weeks opportunity to come again. Super nice hidden gem. Why is this place not crowded ?

Hidden gem. Very good value, delicious Indonesian food, large portion to share. We were skeptical as we saw the prices and felt it expensive. But the portions sizes are big and with the quality, definitely beats more pricy indonesian restaurant for value. The spiciness are accessible without losing an edge. Even the humble fried rice was delicious and flavorful. The Soto Betawi is best from all the places we visited, whether those places are stand alone restaurants or part of a chain. The dessert are reasonably price and still with shareable portions. We ordered 1 appetizer, 4 mains, 2 deserts, and several drinks and spend ~100k per pax. Pali faces a large paddy field that gives a natural and relaxing vibe. Parking is available on site. Service is excellent. Toilet is clean. 2 baby chairs are immediately visible.

The food at this place tastes very good. But after going there again we found the service to be quite bad. The nasi goreng is for three people. We ask if we could get half, because we wanted to order some other dishes as well and not only eat one huge pile of rice. They first said its not possible. Then they said it is possible but the price stays the same. We also wanted to order a coconut, which they didn’t have. Overall this was a disappointing experience and we won’t go there again.

Chanced upon this restaurant and decided to try it after seeing some good reviews. Definitely did not disappoint- we really enjoyed the dishes we ordered. Soto Ayam and nasi goreng babi were both absolutely delicious. Portions are big so be prepared to share. Quite pricey by bali standards but good portions and definitely delicious. Will recommend if you’re around the area looking for some Balinese food.

One of the best places to eat in this area and very authentic! Lots of veggie options. Loved the food and the people working there were super friendly:)

Had such a great dinner here that we ended up going back again the day after. Food was flavourful, portions were of a good size, price was very decent. Their spice level was very tolerable for us Malaysians who are used to spicy food. Would highly recommend their sambals, soto betawi, pork ribs, soto ayam, special vege in coconut gravy (and edamame), fish in curry of some sort. Service is decent, would only recommend that you wear covered clothing because there are mozzies at night. Best to get a bike/gojek there instead of walk because the roads are a bit dark. Would definitely return on our next trip

This was some of the best food that we had in Canggu. When ordering the staff warned us that the portion sizes are large and gave us the option to change our order if we wanted to. We decided to stick to our order and we are so glad that we did! We had the Lamb Nasi Goreng and Mie Goreng Kampung. The staff are wonderful and the service it tops!

Highly recommended for authentic Indonesian cuisine. We tried the won ton, the ceviche, the chicken noodles, the ribs, the satay sticks and the coconut ice cream. The noodles were so good that we ordered another plate. This is great food and good value for money.

I went here for lunch. Food was tasty and the portions quite big. The views were ok, unfortunately there was a lot of construction happening around the rice fields when I was there. Still, would come back for another meal.

Delicious Indonesian food, they have a lot of local dishes. They ask the preferred spicy level, which is great for someone like me that tolerates very little spicy. Highly recommended!

This restaurant is run by a friendly, and down to earth family. Pali has a wonderful team with big, kind smiles, a beautiful setting in-front of a rice terrace, and delicious food! We enjoyed our experiences here (we went multiple times), and making new friends within the team. We hope you have a lovely experience too!

Yum. Had a delicious vegetarian nasi campur at this local place with relaxed vibes. The service was excellent. My only complaint is I found this place on my last day in Canggu and they had lots of traditional Indonesian items on the menu I would like to try. Go and enjoy.

  • 5/5 Michelle Y. 1 year ago on Google
Visit early if you want to have the local nasi campur, as it will be sold out in early afternoon. Highly recommend the chicken curry with balinese spices and the freshly made soursop juice. The food will take a short while to serve as it is freshly prepared upon order.

Gorgeous restaurant with high quality Indonesian fare. Good sized portions, tasty food. We came here twice in a short trip and loved everything we tried. Staff were also really friendly! They're available on Grab too, which we tried once and the food was well packaged and just as tasty. Highly recommend.

Second day in a row eating here. Had Gado Gado extra spicy (again) Also fish curry is amazing turmeric flavor sensation. Lamb was tender in fried rice. Good also comes out fast. Great view and napkins!

Really really good Indo food ahhh more people needs to know hence I am writing this review right after my lunch. I got the vegetarian Nasi Campur and there was no regret, everything on the plate was so flavourful. You can even taste the potato flavour in the fried bergedil. The sambal chilli was just nice - sweet and a bit spicy - and goes so well with the yellow rice. The view overlooking the rice fields also reminds one to finish every grain for it is so hard work to get the rice. The lime juice was fresh and really refreshing too. The staff was really nice and pointed a fan at me when they saw me fanning (it's a super warm day). Would 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for good local food in Canggu!

Beautiful setting by the rice fields. Unfortunately can’t watch the sunset from here but the food makes up for it!! It’s looks quiet from the outside but don’t let that scare you away. Affordable prices, local Indonesian cuisine done beautifully.

Best authentic Indo food in Canggu

  • 4/5 Anna T. 1 year ago on Google
It was good, but room for improvement. The ceviche was great, ribs were nice although a small portion (as mostly bones). The bakmi noodles were a little flavourless. The nasi campur was good to try a little bit of lots of things. Overall we really enjoyed our meal, but felt that at that price point (much more expensive than local Indonesian places), they should be serving free drinking water in line with other restaurants in the area, and the waiter should be able to explain the dishes better. But it's a nice place to sit and good to try authentic Indonesian cuisine.

Our first taste of proper Indonesian food in Bali - extremely big portions and very delicious. The restaurant is also onlooking a nice crop field and is on a fairly quiet street so peaceful too. The value for money here was amazing as the dishes are so big - definitely can share the nasi goreng between 2 big eaters. Surprised not more people were here - if you’re on Echo beach in the day, definitely a good place nearby for lunch or dinner

Very nice looking place, where you can eat decent local food. We had the most typical dish in Bali: Nasi Goreng, portion for two to share. Important info: the tax and service fee has already been included so the prices you see in menu are the final ones you pay.

I dined here on recommendation by a local and I was not disappointed! The food was delicious and reasonably priced and the view across the rice paddies makes for an even more authentic experience. I opted for the barramundi for my main and black rice pudding for dessert. The staff are outstanding, incredibly friendly and informative about the dishes. Would highly recommend and looking forward to returning again in the future!

(Translated by Google) It seems to be the tastiest and most underrated restaurant in Canggu. I still cannot understand why crowds of people do not burst there. The guys cook Indonesian cuisine, but in its most advanced version, as they say, "at maximum speed." I highly recommend trying nasi goreng right away - there are several options on the menu. I like the lamb best of all, the chicken is also very tasty. It does not look like a goreng from a roadside varung, in some ways it even resembles Uzbek pilaf. All gorengi are shareable, you can take for two or even three. Loved the fish curry with baramundi, beef rendang, appetizer bala-bala.

Highly recommended if you looking for local food!! Great service and 5 star food... I never write any reviews but after having food there it changed my mind to write it. We were passing by the restaurant and saw the authentic Balinese food poster and we were looking for explore something around our hotel, I was glad we hit right spot. Everything exceptionally good After trying all those restaurants in Canggu my favourite would be Pali and definitely I’ll come back.

An incredible Indonesian restaurant serving a diverse style of Indonesian dishes, highly recommended for anyone who is curious about the different flavours of Indo cuisine and the dishes are all cooked incredibly well, full of fresh ingredients and amazing flavours. Pali has quickly become one of my favourite spots in Canggu! All the staff were incredible friendly and helpful with dish recommendations, so you won't be feeling overwhelmed if you can't decide what to order first. I have had two dinners already in the span of a week and both visits were super satisfying, keen to try more dishes on my next visits. The rice field view at the back of the restaurant is also super lovely, perfect spot for a quiet drink with friends.

A hidden gem in the area of sameness. A truly warm place with superb Indonesian food. A must try in any Indonesian restaurant: Nasi Goreng, my recommendation try their Nasi Goreng Bali, it's rich in flavor and enough to feed two people unless you're really hungry. All food here are made.to share so it's a fun and delicious experience.

Pali is a hidden gem that hasn't taken off yet and I simply can't understand why. The food is absolutely supreme, the view is to die for and the staff are beyond the kindest and most attentive individuals I've ever come across. If you are craving local food with an upscale flavour - do yourself a favor, run don't walk to Pali and be prepared to be amazed.

Was craving indo food and found this near me on Google. What a gem! Highly recommend- food was tasty and delicious. Decent prices, good portion for the nasi campur. Please order the gado gado, one of the best I’ve had. Plus- there’s the million dollar view ;) This place was quiet when I came but there should be a line! If you’re still deciding on your options, come here.

Wow! We came here because we were staying up the street. So far the best food we’ve had here. And finally a nice calm spot, overlooking rice paddies... a nice break from everything being on such a busy street. We had the fish curry and it was heaven. Also they gave us food and a plastic bowl for our baby. We plan to go back tomorrow. Highly recommend !!!!

Great Balinese and Indonesian food in a traditional teak joglo overlooking the rice fields. On request, they can make the food not spicy, and also tell you what is on the menu. Plus a nice view of the rice terraces.
