The space has a sweet smell of food. My friend’s chocolate looks lovely— didn’t know it can have latte art as well! The flat white is rich, with notes of fresh berries but not sour. The pancakes are phenomenal. Soft, fluffy, bathed by compote that is indulgent but not too sweet and has a crunchy texture thanks to the toasted granola bits. The Merguez is a hearty bright start for the day. The sausages are beautifully spiced. The house cured salmon tastes fresh and delicate, though the cuts are quite thin.

An absolute gem. The food is delicious, the coffee is great and the service is friendly and efficient. The menu has great variety and it never disappoints! Would advise getting there early to guarantee a table as it is so popular!

My experience at the refectory kitchen this morning was most satisfactory! This place is known as the best place for breakfast in Canterbury. You are paying for deliciousness... There is outside seating with space heaters and blankets for customers. The restaurant doesn't bookings so it's first come first serve and people often happily wait to be seated. Good luck!

Had a lovely brunch here on a beautiful sunny day with friends. We ordered the refectory grill up, veggie up, berry compote buttermilk pancake and banana pancakes. Everything was exceptional but I particularly loved their Refectory grill up. This place actually comes on “things to in Canterbury” list on Timeout and it actually is. I am surely going to come back whenever I visit Canterbury.

Best brunch in Canterbury! We discovered this place on our final day in Canterbury and we wish we'd found it earlier. There is so much food to choose from and it is a lovely, cosy atmosphere inside. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend!

Amazing cafe! The food is excellent and service is exceptional. Ordered the buttermilk pancakes and a deluxe hot chocolate - both tasted great. Completely dog friendly too. However, it is unable to book so there may be a slight wait for a table depending on how busy it is though the food is worth it. Would go again!

My wife and I got her birthday celebrations started with an awesome breakfast at the Refactory Kitchen. The food was delish and the service was great. It offers a chilled yet intimate setting ideal for couples. Even though Canterbury has a variety of cafés, The Refactory Kitchen had a steady flow of patrons which speaks to its popularity, all who looked pretty content when leaving.

We went to Canterbury for the weekend and was on the hunt for a good brunch place. The Refectory Kitchen had good reviews so we decided to stop by and OMG we are so glad we did! Without a doubt the best French Toast I have ever eaten! Topped with strawberries, lemon syrup and an insanely delicious whipped vanilla cheesecake cream 😋 My husband had the Grill up which he thoroughly enjoyed and the hash brown and bacon butter fried bread was incredible! We had to wait about 15mins for a table (totally worth it) but for peak time on a Saturday it's to be expected. I'm just sad that I cant go back every week...might have to move to Kent! Lol

Must-try for brunch in Canterbury!! Would recommend anything on the menu, especially the Kentish burger and fries. So delicious, fast service, and very nice indoor and outdoor sitting. We’ve come here with our dog and they’ve been accommodating every time. Make sure to show up early as it can get quite busy.

The location is perfectly in between the train station and Canterbury Cathedral. The fresh orange was excellent, and they have “long black” which is a rare find. Overall it was excellent, there were some locals dining as well so it did not feel like a total tourist restaurant.

Quite simply the best breakfast - ever. Clean, fresh, super tasty, our favourite place and that is not said lightly. I can highly recommend and the service is second to none which just makes it a complete 10/10 experience.

Visited here for brunch around 11.30ish. Waited about 30 minutes to enter. The only restaurant with queues so must be good. Service was excellent and food quality really good. The buttermilk pancakes were the best. A good find in Canterbury.

Yummy vegetarian breakfast the spicy veg fritter and hashbrown were so nice ! Lots of food options . The desserts looked great but I think would be frowned upon ordering at 9am :D Juice of the day was very tasty. Staff were lovely and the wood burner was beautiful

I found this place in a TimeOut post and checked the Google reviews before I decided to go. It has excellent reviews so I had to check it out and it deserves each one of them! The place is small but spacious, the decoration in super funky and cozy, staff is very polite and welcoming. Last but not least, the food is delicious, we’ll portioned, you can taste the high quality ingredients. I was very pleased with my experience and will definitely recommend and return there.

My heart and stomach are full🥰 The cafe serve aesthetic and palate pleasing food. The juice for the day (carrot ginger pressed) is truly refreshing. The pancakes are yuhmmmmy. 👍👍for the quality of service from the lovely ladies that day.

Excellent place for breakfast. A good choice on the menu. Service is good. Staff are helpful, friendly and welcoming. Try the ‘green eggs and ham’ … all I can say is WOW! The home cured smoked salmon is excellent too. This place is well worth a visit.

👍👍 Such a fab little cinema to visit. Drinks beforehand were great and to be able to take them into the cinema, like an adult for once, seemed a novelty, no plastic cups-hurrah! We enjoyed the venue and snuggling up on a sofa seat rather than just the usual individual chairs. Was just missing a table i...
