Another outstanding restaurant owned and operated by the Ly family. The menu includes Thai, sushi and traditional Asian dishes. The Tom Yum soup is the best around. Try the Bangkok spicy fish which is exceptional. The atmosphere is inviting, the service is great and the prices are very reasonable. This is my go to place in Akron/Canton for gourmet Asian fare!

We had the perfect table outside off to the side! Food was good, moo goo was a little mild for our taste but still good. I don't think the waitress liked having outside tables. Would totally eat here again.

Service from Talon was fantastic and his recommendation of the Ghost Roll was excellent. Love the atmosphere here and the sushi 🍣 is always phenomenal. If you’ve not been here you should definitely try it out. You’ll be glad you did.

Basil is one of my favorite restaurants in downtown Canton, Ohio. I either get the Basil Special roll (when I’m in the mood for sushi), or I get the pineapple fried rice with extra pineapple (without protein). All the food is great, nice drink selection, bartenders are all super nice. Matt is great at the helm! Photo is of the Basil Special roll half-eaten before I killed it! 😂 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Looking for a lunch place after visiting the near-by McKinley Monument, we found this on Google Maps and it looked intriguing. Good move to come here! Even though it was a Wednesday midday, there was ample street parking available and plenty of available seating. I was with a group of vegetarians so we all went for vegetarian entrees. They offer you a selection of proteins so this was not a problem for the restaurant, but if you prefer meat, they can do that too. Many of the dishes on the menu were ones we had not seen anywhere else. We ordered a couple of those (Thai Spaghetti? Walnut Sauce?) Every dish that we ordered was absolutely beautiful to behold (check out the photos) and tasted just as good as it looked. We shared all of them amongst the four of us and wished we had bigger stomachs or appetites so that we could have tried more things! Service was also first rate with a server who was very patient and explained everything to us as well as checked back frequently to make sure we got everything we wanted / needed. Prices are very reasonable. We also noted the bar and the nice selection of wines they had. Some of which are quite exciting and priced extremely reasonably. If we had come for dinner, I am sure that one of those bottles would have made its way to our table. Should our future travels bring us back to Canton, this will definitely be on the list of places to visit again!

Wowww! Super cool and yummy place. We came in fairly late and the staff was nothing but welcoming and kind. Really makes the experience that much more enjoyable. The food and drinks are all great and the menu is huge!!! Certainly recommend.

Stopped in after visiting the HOF and was very impressed. Our server Oscar was very attentive. The food came out fast and was extremely flavorful. The miso soup was “elite” and I thoroughly enjoyed the spicy crab roll and dumplings, although they were sweeter than expected. The entrees were great. Curry fried rice was a unique take on a classic Thai dish, and the beef was flavorful and spicy. Would highly recommend if you’re in town. 4.5/5-BJ

The rating is for the food. I’ll drive 30 min to get their Pho. It’s the best in town. Do have to comment that the person answering their phones could be a little more concerned with customer service. Not bad enough to stop me from still placing my order.

Cool vibe, great food, good service, good ambiance just can’t go wrong. Happy hour menu - bar only looks great, it wasn’t happy hour when we went. Roja tequila was great. Garlic shrimp was amazing also came with a few fries. Brussel sprouts cheeseburger sliders. Didn’t get stuffed but was full, until I went for 3rd round‼️ Ate with a friend she’s a light eater she had maybe 2 small servings and was content. This place is great! Server Daniel D was a pro!

Tried this place for the first time tonight.. It was AMAZING!!! The hostess was very friendly and sat us right away. The wait staff was very attentive, our glasses stayed full, our empty dishes were constantly being cleared, and our food was staggered perfectly from course to course. All of our food choices were amazing, appetizers, sushi, soup, main dishes, rice, lo mein, delicious! The manager Dawn stopped at our table multiple times to ensure we were good. She made it seem like she cared, not just checking us off her list of tables to visit. I highly recommend everyone trying this place, you won’t be disappointed!!

INCREDIBLE!! Will be back again and again and again. We had a variety of things and everything was delicious. We sat at the bar with Carolina and she made the experience even better. She’s so kind and hospitable. I’ve worked in the service industry for almost 5 years and you don’t come by this very often. She even made us sake bombs. Can’t wait until the next visit 😋

My hubby and I stopped last night for a much needed date night. We got the Basil Special Roll and Calamari to start. Both were incredible! I got the Green Mango Grouper and my husband got the Dragon and Phoenix as entrees. Both were perfect! To top it off, our server, Joe, was hands down the best server I’ve ever had! He is a gem. We will absolutely be back!

I love this restaurant and their food!! So good you definitely won't regret going. Service is always great too. They can get very busy though so you may have to wait on your food if you go at a busy time.

Wow that was by far the worst sushi I’ve had in Ohio. I’ll take gas station sushi over eating here. The Crunch roll was more rice than anything, the avocado was stale and bad, and the crab meat was far from fresh. The sweet potato rolls were hard and anything but sweet. It was as if they took a baby carrot tempura and stuffed the roll with it. Do with this information as you wish. But I will not be eating from here again.

Basil was AWESOME! This place was recommended to me years ago, never had a chance to try it until now. The drinks are really cool. The food is awesome. The server / bar tender did a really good job! I will be back. My favorites at this place so far are the Ghost roll, the tuna app, and the martinis. This place is worth the trip down to Canton, OH. If you ever fly in to CAK, give this place a try! I'll expand on this review the next time I go back!

Absolutely delicious sashimi! The service can be a little slow but I'm usually here to enjoy myself and take my time. Which I always do enjoy myself. Cute little patio for warmer weather. Great spot!

Went there for a birthday lunch celebration with my wife and it was the second time we've been there. The food was outstanding again, the pricing was very reasonable and the waitress was very attentive. We have always said that a good waitress pays attention so what's going on with the customer no matter what and she noticed that my wife had moved some of the onions to the side and asked if everything was okay and when my wife said yes the waitress caught on and recognized that there were too many onions and said that she should have brought it to our attention that you can custom order anything anyway you want there. That is a compliment for the waitress not meant to be anything negative I thought that was great that she was that observant which was true of everything that she did throughout the service. I am not a huge fan of chicken in these types of dishes but this was divine. I highly recommend the Thai spaghetti dish and substitute the pork with chicken

Egg rolls and house rolls were yummy! Great variety to choose from available for menu. Lovely atmosphere and fantastic waitress (Catalina?!?) took care of us. I cannot wait to go back to try something else!

This place is excellent. Everything I have eaten here is some of the best. Make sure you make a reservation as it gets very busy, especially on holidays. I love the Steak skewers and Calamari appetizers.

1st time there . We loved everything about it. So many choices for appetizers and the main entrees. The food was so good and spiced just right. The Tsunami martini was a fun drink. Our waitress Melissa was also wonderful.

This review is for how Tony, the owner, handles refunds. I have been trying to get a full refund for an order they intentionally mucked up on 11/27/2020. I spoke to Kelsey who refused to provide a full refund which forced me to call Tony. I finally got a chance to speak with Tony but not for long. He said he didn't have time to hear my complaint and to call him Monday. I phoned the following three Mondays and Tony refused to talk to me. At that point I kept calling until someone did something. Kelsey phones me from her personal cell saying a full refund can be provided if I text her photos of my info - receipt, credit card and ID. Tony, this is improper. On 12/21/2020, Kelsey promised a full refund in three business days. It is 1/5/2021, and the refund has not yet posted. Because I had to submit to Tony's demands for being fully refunded, texting my personal info by photo to his employee, I had to request a new card from my bank, transfer monies from that account and install fraudulent alerts. Tony as consumed a large amount of my time and energy. You should acquire a more streamlined system of issuing refunds when you and your staff intentionally muck up the customer's to go order.

Fine spot for Asian food. Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. I've had nothing but pleasant experiences here and plan to keep coming back. Bring your hunger - portions are large. Menu is similar to a restaurant in El Paso I liked.

Great tastes and service

The restaurant has a great aesthetic and relaxed vibe. Our "bon bon chicken" appetizer had a sweet taste with a hint of spicy and was was perfect amount to share between the two of us and arrived in a timely manner. The "pad kee mao" was spicy (and delicious) and was a very fulfilling portion! Madeline was a great server and made our first experience here a good one! Highly recommended!

This place is good I suppose. I’ve only had fried rice, general tso chicken and California roll. Their eel sauce has onions in it which for me, is unpleasant. Their general tso chicken was only perfect once... the other 2 times I’ve had it the breading was soft and sort of soggy. The first time I had it, it was perfectly crispy and spicy, but, I never got that again. I’ve had regular fried rice and it was ok. Kinda salty, it wasn’t hot as if it had been sitting around for a little, andddd the rice box wasn’t close to being filled up all the way. (Not even closeee) but it’s a decent spot. Not the best. Certainly not the worse.

I had takeout, the food was really good! First time trying kimchi and steamed dumplings! Not disappointed at all! One of the orders was wrong but the food was still really good! The person up front with long blonde hair who took my order was really nice despite being rushed. I recommend! Only spent $46 for food for two. Plenty of food, tasted really good, good service! Planning on future visits!

First time eating here based on reviews. From out of town for Thanksgiving. I'm not a big meat eater so I ordered simple takeout: Egg Fried Rice with green onions - no peas - no carrots, and Pho with green onions - no meat. $19.50 - I still had to pay full price for inconveniencing them to remove the meet. Pho had three small pieces of green onions. Fried rice had more peas and carrots than rice - I had to dig them out - that's how I know. I could not enjoy the rice or pho. I phoned to let them know but she only offered a $9 credit. I refused. I asked to speak to manager; I was told she'd call me when she arrived. This was on Friday, Nov 27th. I recieved no call. I had to call them on Tues. Dec 3rd and spoke to Kelsey - if that's her real name - who said she was out of town. I explained to Kelsey what was wrong with my order - Kelsey offered me a credit of $19.50 to come back and dine with them. I told her I had already left the area and was heading home and that I didn't live in OH. Kelsey told me I would have to come back and dine with them if I want the credit. I live in TX and she is refusing me a full refund. I asked for the owners to call me and hope they can refund the full cost that the waitress, cook and Kelsey have messed up. I dont understand this type of service - Bistro incorrectly prepared customer's food but when customer rightly complains - bistro gets upset and refuses to refund but invites customer to another incorrectly prepared order. Please refund me the full cost of $19.50.

As always Basil is awesome! Hot and Sour Soup was fantastic! Egg roll was good, seeved with sweet and sour as well as hot mustard. Loved the hot mustard! What's not to love about sweet and sour? My absolute favorite entree there is Thai Spaghetti. With their signature basil sauce, shrimp and pork it is phenomenal. Had the leftovers for breakfast this morning. My wife had Gen Tso which was also great. They have their tables at a social distance, they all wear masks... properly! Not under their noses, but actually covering them. It felt safe but still natural. Basil is my favorite restaurant bar none! The only problem I had was despite knowing better, I've been away from home for many years and forget how easy it is to get around where every other street is one way the other way. I may have made a wrong way OOPS. 😀 That first bite of Thai Spagehetti made me forget all about that.

Honest review: I got happy family, daughter got general tso's, friend got moo goo gai pan and rainbow roll. Happy family: it's meh! The chicken, shrimp, and scallop and vegetables seemed to have been boiled in brown sauce and not stir-fried. There were 2 shrimp and 1 scallop, and the chicken was very overcooked and dry. Moo goo gai pan: Warning!!!! This dish does not contain chicken!! I know, right??? Literally... Go now to Google and search moo goo gai pan... Main in ingredient is supposed to be chicken. This was nothing more than a vegetable dish. Very disappointed. Rainbow roll: No complaints, friend said that was actually good. General Tso's: daughter has same complaint as I did. It seems boiled and not stir-fried. Way too much sauce, she said "my meal seems to be drowning in all the sauce". The staff was very friendly, this was takeout not dine in. I did call after I got home just to ask if there was supposed to be chicken in the moo goo gai pan and the lady confirmed that there isn't. So maybe if you are looking for good sushi, this place is great. I will not be ordering from there again.

This place is simply amazing, I have tried at least 15 different dishes so far an not a single one I have not liked. An they all were very different flavors. Vietnamese pho, Singapore Noddles, an the pad Thai I would recommend to anyone new to asian cuisine. This is by far my favorite restaurant, the customer service is off the charts. Called to place an pick up order. Was put on hold. Disconnected after a few mins. Called again..no greeting or confirmation of the purpose of call..just silence...on hold for 10 mins..gave up..they should work on figuring this out. Seems pretty basic for a restaurant to function. May be they DONT care about pick ups..oh well..we ordered from the next place in our list..not gonna waste my time

The atmosphere and service was good. However, the food is extremely greasy and over priced. My fries came out cold and undercooked. They politely replaced them, but the food itself was so greasy it made my fiance and I sick. Probably best to just get drinks here.

Got the French onion soup, chicken and waffles with a side of sweet potato fries. The soup was spot on, very satisfying. The chicken was not that impressive, however the waffles were great. And you can never go wrong with sweet potatoe fries. Place was busy tho, so make sure to call ahead and make a reservation, staff was very friendly too. And the atmosphere on the patio is very nice.

Was looking for some vegetarian options and was delighted to see all the different food I could choose from. Not only was the meal incredible but the price was quite amazing. I would have expected to pay a lot more than I did.

My fiancé got himself his usual quesadilla and brought me home a French dip that was supposed to be MEAT AND CHEESE ONLY. For starters, they forgot his salsa and he was bummed out that. I bit into the soggy bun and tasted pickles. I didn't see on the menu the sandwich came with pickles, luckily I am not allergic but I do really dislike pickles.. The second bite I bit into had tiny bits of carmalized onions and I opened the bun to notice there were onions throughout the entire thing. The aju has a weird smoky taste to it too. If I do decide to go back I'll try something else but this pregnant mama is very dissatisfied and sad I couldn't eat my dinner. This is the second time they have messed up my fiancés order here.

I have been going to Basil since they have opened. Basil is easily one of my favorite places to grab a dish. The quality of the food is top notch and I have never left disappointed. Easily one of the best restaurants in Canton. Also a great atmosphere for date nights and special occasions. I recently took a few friends there for lunch that had never experienced it, and they positively exclaimed at the quality, size of portion, and taste of their dishes. The service I receive is always very good as well. You won't regret going to this place if you love Asian cuisine.

Three of us had entrees plus an appetizer cost around $60.00. The moo goo gai pan was amazing. And the pan fried noodles were spectacular. I wish we lived in the area - I'd gladly order out from here regularly. Atmosphere was great during Pride, and the service was spot on. Definitely worth the money!!!

This is thee place to go for sushi and lots of other things. My favorite is the spicy crab roll. So fresh and delicious. Served with their own spicy mayo on the side. It’s one of those things that when you put it in your mouth your eyes close and you make sounds that probably make your neighbors think you got a new boyfriend. The crab rangoon is also fantastic!
