My husband was at Aulman a year ago, before there was a vaccine for Covid 19. He had Covid and spent 47 days on a ventilator and 80 days at Aultman facilities from the MICU, to LTAC to Woodlawn. Dr. Boutros and his amazing team in the MICU provided the most compassionate and excellent care. After he was finally released to go home we have continued with care from the many gifted doctors from Aultman and he is making a full recovery thanks to them. Today, I am at here again with my sister who is having hernia surgery. The wonderful care continues! Every person is kind, friendly and compassionate even during these difficult times. The surgery staff is wonderful and when I visited the Shoppes to buy some flowers, the sweet florist helped me pick out a beautiful arrangement and I even found a few Christmas gifts. We are so blessed to have this hospital in our community and I am thankful for all those working there!❤️

Disrespectful for the deaf. Have not written up the board Nurse name, doctor name, dates, labs, x ray, ultrasound and CT scan, notes, pain rating -fall risk - hearing impaired and many more on the wall. I called the nurse and no one come and nurse finally came and told them my issues and she said she will get it for me and she focus on the man nurse out there. Why leave the patient out when come to patient seriously need them? They need to write on that board so they don't get to be rude at the patient when they nurse or doctor do not know person is deaf or visually blind n deaf.

We got back to a room after being in the waiting room for hours and we were back here for an hour before we got anyone to see us when the Dr. Came in he got extremely rude took the bandage off and said he was sending in a nurse it's been over an hour and no nurse would not recommend this hospital go to mercy for better care. I should not have to call you when all the bad reviews are about the emergency department you need to send some good Doctor's and nurses down there to retain them they seem to have forgotten that they are there to help people and they need to have compassion for the sick and patients are going through enough with out attitude from the staff . If you have to go out of the room to get someone they are always talking about their personal stuff if they would tend to the patients instead of of visiting with their coworkers there wouldn't be backed up all the time.

I respect the medical community and what it has done for my husband, who broke two legs within one year and can now walk and run again. That said, I have never experienced such judgemental treatment in a hospital. I live an organic, simple life and had hoped to have a home birth with a professional midwife. On extreme caution during the final hour we decided to come to this hospital in the event my son may need resuscitation. I gave birth in a room of 25 people standing over me shouting how I should push, pressuring me to use the vaccum even though his heart rate only dipped occasionally to 80 bpm, which is acceptable so long as it rises again as it did. I refused vaccum, and gave birth without intervention 15 minutes after arrival, to a pink and crying son. The two OBs refused us delayed cord clamping on request, and proceeded to pull out my placenta and push pitocin because of hospital policy. They didn't even ask if I wanted to let my body push it out, they pulled my cord before even asking. No consent is needed to remove my organs, I suppose. This IS NOT EVIDENCE BASED CARE nor the practice of many other area hospitals. The rest of our stay, every doctor and nurse that attended us cast quiet opinions for our choosing a home birth, and assumed I was in an abusive situation while my husband sat and supported me like an absolute champion. They claimed they haven't seen anyone come in with a midwife before, and I have a difficult time believing this due to location near conservative communities. They went so far as to report to a social worker that I'd recieved scant prenatal care because I had declined an invasive test during my care. The pediatrician entered the room with an attitude because we had decided not to vaccinate our infant son for Hep B, and tried to scare us about his completely healthy bilirubin levels. I'm grateful my son is healthy, but the events taxed my postpartum mind for days, as you took my feeling of control and security from me in that labor room, and I'll not forget it. I can't imagine how other women feel, as my experience is so minor to what could have been. Even conservative women deserve options for transparent, science based care, which are not found here.

If I could give negative stars, I would because one star is too generous. We brought my grandmother in because she has vascular dementia and hasn't been eating or drinking, so we figured she might need fluids. They needed to draw blood for testing, and they had her waiting for 3 hours and did nothing. She felt so weak and tired and shaky that they had to leave. Another patient in the waiting room waited patiently for 6 hours until she was treated for fluid in her lungs. We also witnessed another woman who left after waiting for 4 hours. If you care about your loved ones or yourself, please stay as far, far away from this "hospital" as you can. Unless you are visibly in physical distress or bleeding, they don't care. And if you were, I will be willing to bet they still don't. I understand that short staffing is an issue, but from the almost 450 negative reviews since the beginning, I'm not so sure. Now I'm left wondering why we trusted them to begin with. Our mistake and lesson learned.

I have been using Aultman Hospital exclusively for over 50 years. My physician orders lab work at least twice a year. There usually isn't a problem in the lab since the tech told me years ago, remind us that your veins roll and are tiny. Today l had a tech that definitely needs more training. He never spoke to me once we were in the room. I said what I was supposed to say. He went to a vein in my hand and l told him that wasn't a good one. He felt my arm some more and after several minutes then tried to get the needle in the vein. Didn't work. He started wiggling the needle. I said the girls don't ever have a problem. He left the room without saying word. A girl that l had once before who couldn't find a vein and had to call for help came in the room. She never said a word to me either. He apparently told her where he had tried because she went to that exact pinpoint! I told her, l do have another arm as she tried to wiggle the needle to the vein. When that didn't work, l said, ok l will come back a different day. I know the girl who went to lunch as soon as l got there was a tech who could do it. I felt really sorry for the people sitting in the waiting room. Hoped the tech at lunch came back soon. I should have waited for her but l was too upset. If you want to know the names of the techs that need not only customer service training (you don't talk to your clients?) but also re-trained in taking blood, let me know!

I just spent 6 days here and was highly impressed with the whole staff. Every nurse was so kind and attentive, as were the doctors. I never felt ignored or dismissed and felt like all my concerns were addressed. Even the after care has been amazing. I have had at least 2 people check in on me so far, even the very busy doctors. When you are going through something scary, it certainly helps to have a good team behind you. Thank you !

I took someone here for same-day surgery recently. We were told to be there by 5:30am. Upon arrival, there was not another human in sight as we registered at the kiosks. The function of which is to presumably produce a sticker that you attach to your clothing so anyone who sees you knows you are there for a reason. As we left the kiosks to go down the same-day surgery hallway, a woman way down the hallway from where we were walking in the opposite direction began screeching "DO YOU HAVE A MASK? DO YOU HAVE A MAAAAAAASK??" No, ma'am, I don't. And I'm not taking one from you either. Go panic on your own time. I'm not here to share spittle or breath with anyone at your facility. Calm the f down. No one else bothered me to wear one and the rest of our time there was unremarkable.

My grandma has had horrible health issues since i was kid and aultman has always been her go to. Her and i’s minds have changed in the last few years. I’m currently parked in the Ear parking lot while my grandma who was diagnosed with Congested Heart Failure has been sitting in the waiting room for over 4 hours after being brought in by ambulance. I called the front desk to check if she had gotten a room after i left to go home and feed her animals and come back thinking she might be in one, when i was connected with the front desk nurse she told me that my grandma had gotten her vitals done but still did not have a room. Mind you, i know Covid is still happening and is scary but my grandma is still sitting in the waiting room. When i asked if there was any time amount she could give m, the nurse replied back “no i do not have a time amount but who’s to say 26 traumas don’t come through door in the next minute”. Now i know working here is probably super stressful, it being super busy, lots of patients to see but my grandma who again has CONGESTED HEART FAILURE and fluid around her lungs has been put on the back burner and I’m absolutely disgusted with how this place runs things. Get better staff or learn how to be human

First let me say everyone in the ER was very nice. But there is a serious problem apparently with staffing. My 84 year old mother had to wait while sitting in a wheelchair for 9-1/2 hours to be seen. She was unable to get up and walk. She had a heart attack 9 hours after finally being seen. Did the stress of waiting contribute this? I will always wonder.

My wife was brought to the Aultman ER by ambulance doubled over in pain last night at approximately 10:00 pm. They finally did a cat-scan but still left her in the waiting room all night and most of the day. Once in an ER bed they said she had a blockage to her liver causing the pain but never gave her anything for pain. The nurse button was pushed 7 times with no one ever coming to her room. It’s now 9:00pm the next night and she finally was admitted to a room upstairs awaiting surgery tomorrow. They left her all day with nothing for pain, gave her no medication as of yet for her bp which is 191/107. They now say no orders have come through so they can’t do anything now that she is finally in a room until they do. We are being told they don’t know why the ER didn’t start the process. I do not recommend ever using this ER. I will reach out to my attorney in the morning.

Waited in the ER from 4:00pm-2:00am! They take turns taking people back to draw blood, get X-rays ect, in a small room WITHOUT A BED (the girl couldn’t find a appropriate vein to take blood so she had to find another person to take my blood. That was another 45 mins.) I also had to have a ultrasound. After tests and blood is taken, you have to go BACK to the waiting room, Sit for hours and hours and WAIT AGAIN they call u back the 2nd time to talk to a doctor or nurse about your results and give you a room if needed . It’s all a gross, GERMY cluster of people in pain, crying, people are vomiting, walking around barefoot, in socks, there’s people who are ill covered up with blankets ect. Those blankets get thrown around the waiting rooms. The whole 8 hours I was there, I didn’t see 1 employee wipe or clean anything down! You watch door dash drivers deliver food to employees working as you wait. You see a whole cross breed of Canton! You feel like you need a shower as SOON as you get home after being there so long! There had to be 100 people in the waiting rooms, waiting to be seen. There was a lady that brought her 7 kids in to the waiting area that were screaming and making all kinds of load noises. Not 1 employee or security guard told any of them to keep it down.. being in pain or sick, that’s the last thing you want to hear! The desk attendants said it’s like “this”on most Mondays… it’s sooo sad how things are managed now! Doctors and nurses kept apologizing for the long waits and back up. I was here in total 8 hours!!! In pain! That’s Ridiculous! I received bad service by a doctor At Aultman West ER in Massillon, which is closer, but I came here thinking I would get get better care, WHAT A JOKE…. What I got was a 8 HOUR wait! I’ve NEVER IN MY LIFE SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS! It feels like you’re in a nightmare. By the time I left I seen 4 nurses and 2 doctors… under the circumstances though, each one was nice and seemed caring and knowledgeable. 8 hours later it was almost 2AM and I couldn’t get my prescription filled. I didn’t eat anything that morning because I was in so much pain. I was there the whole day without water or food, but that’s my own fault for not coming prepared. I could have went to a vending machine, but you don’t want to leave your seat, thinking someone new that has checked in, will most likely take your seat. I had absolutely NO clue Aultman ER was anywhere near this bad. They need a real hospital back in Massillon to cut some of the over crowded mess of Aultman Hospital. I really used to like this hospital, as this place saved my life in 1999 I was here over 2 months. Now I wouldn’t even want to stay overnight!

My family is done going to Aultman for help. My mom had a possible stroke today. She sat in the waiting area for over 7 hrs. She needed to go to the bathroom. There was no one in sight to help her. She came in by ambulance at 11:15am. And when my dad arrived. She was sitting in a wheelchair in the waiting area by her self. It was 8pm and she hadn't even been roomed yet. This level of care is ridiculous. There is no care there at all. I can't believe that this is how they treat their patients. Would the staff think that this is exceptable for their own family?

Cardiovascular nurses were amazing 6 stars...but then I was sent to emergency room for further testing. I was too physically weak to give blood ...so the Dr came in tried to shame me for refusing that and was not willing to discuss other care options. Any other testing was now also off the table because I chose to do what I had to for my own safety and stability. Thankfully the tests i already had done were clear.. so I got what I needed. One can do bloodwork anywhere. Very rude and condescending. Terrible bedside manners.

I had my mother sent here from assisted living because I had a horrific experience with Mercy Hospital previously and the difference is like night & day! The doctors were genuinely concerned about her well being and health and they actually listened to me and noted my concerns. Nurses were fantastic....very caring and informative! They kept me in the loop on just about everything. I wish I could remember all of their names so I could send them a Thank You card and praise them for a job well done! It's so nice when people actually do their jobs!!

The worst ever experience in my life today 7-19-22 I brought my mom in to the er at 10:30 am and we left at 5:30 pm without being properly seen just the vitals when we checked in at 10:30 am and after hours on hours waiting and waiting the lady behind the desk said we could wait another three hours at best after seeing 7 other patients leaving without being seen properly. We left too and we were waiting to here lab test results to see what’s wrong with my mom you would have thought I was in a 3rd world country not in stark county’s largest employer in canton Ohio. What a shame

Held against my will because it’s apparently illegal to attempt taking your own life. Staff treat you as less than human if you have Covid. Pretty sure I have a concussion or worse they’re ignoring after their security bounced my head off a counter. Great experience overall.

Been in the waiting room for 6 hours the pain meds they gave me have wore off with no idea when I will get more. They only ran half of the test they wanted to do so far. When we asked about more pain meds they gave us a blank look and said I still have to get a urine sample I have already went twice while in the waiting room. This is my second time to this hospital and it's been the same thing sit in a waiting room all night because they don't have rooms available this is the worst hospital I have ever been too will never come back here.

My 71 year old mother presented to the ER with Chest pain at 12:30 pm, She had high blood pressure and arm pain. An EKG, chest xray and blood work was drawn. She saw a doctor briefly in her first 3 hours but was not given any results, they placed her in the waiting room for 9 hours before they finally brought her back to a bed, then gave her a medication to treat the blood pressure and did more tests. While in the waiting room she was not checked on or monitored, this is unacceptable, for a chest pain patient.

Staff is amazing and I suppose that in the end that's all that matters and I know the staff has no control over building conditions. So a God bless the entire staff during my 2 day emergency stay they were all super heros.. But this room was unsanitary and discusting. As I left the beautiful entry way of the hospital to finally go home with lined up scooters and art, I realized quickly that they really don't care about the quality of the patients room or sanitary conditions. The toilets were rotted and rusted, the.sink was dirty and rusted just to name a few. DO BETTER AULTMAN..ITS NOT LIKE THE FUNDS ARE NOT THERE.. BTW THESE ARE JUST A FEW PICS I COULD TAKE, THERE COULD HAVE BEEN MORE..BUT WHY EMBARRASS THEM FURTHER..YOU GET THE POINT.

If I could give zero stars I would. Came to the ER by ambulance with severe abdominal pain, vomiting and after almost passing out from low blood pressure. I am still sitting in the waiting room 9 1/2 hours later. Checked my vitals, gave me pain meds & I finally got a CT scan about 3 hours in, but was sent back to the waiting rm because they have "no beds." We've watched several non-critical patients go in and out in front of us, yet here I sit in pain and awake for over 24 hours. If you have to choose Aultman, go to the ER in Alliance not the main campus on 6th St in Canton. Also, the overnight front desk person in the ER is extremely rude and caused several patients to get very agitated to the point security was always lurking. *Update: Imagine that, asked to speak to a supervisor and suddenly a bed became available.

Currently waiting during hour 7 AND A HALF after bringing my wife due to intense and severe abdominal pains. In these 7 and a half hours, only about 45 minutes have been them actually helping. They've called us back 2 times, with 2 hours or more in-between each call for a single step then getting sent back to the waiting room. They told us the doctor would see us when they came in at 8 and now an hour has passed without a single word from anyone. The only upside to this whole ordeal is that the nurse we have seen is pretty nice and cautious. Do yourself a favor and visit somewhere else for medical needs.

So I was have been experiencing a fever for the whole day on Friday. As my family doctor's office is not open on the weekend, or on Monday because of the Holiday. They ran blood cultures, a urine sample and swaubed my nose all test came back negative. So 24 hours later the only relief I had is when I took Tylenol or Motrin. So I returned Saturday that experience is one I will not soon forget as I was told there nothing that could be done. When I asked the registration if there was a chance I could be suffering heat stroke she began to be little me. She stated that there was nothing more they could do. So I decided to leave. All I want is to figure out what's wrong and fix it. Apparently that is to much to ask. So I left. Thanks Aultman and attending registration nurse.

My Aunt was treated at Aultman Hospital. When she was released on Wednesday this week, she was wheeled out in a hospital gown and socks with her clothes in a bag on her lap. Now mind you it was cold and raining so when she got out of the wheel chair her socks and feet got soaked. I understand it was shift change but the release time was chosen by the hospital and I was appalled she was sent out in the cold to be taken to a rehab facility in a hospital gown and socks.

Giving morphine to people for headaches is a bit overkill. On top of that, adding xanax in along with morphine is highly dangerous according to the NIH. This place should be sued for medical malpractice. Believe it I will be pursuing that. I can't even get norco for a herniated disc that produces severe pain daily and takes away my quality of life but you guys go and hand out morphine for headaches like its candy. Ridiculous.

I gave birth here a few days ago and it was such a great experience, especially as a first time family. From the anesthesiologist, LC's, nurses, residents, house keeping and dietary workers. 10/10 would birth here again. Husband also raved about everything.

Just want to give a shout out to Ashley in outpt scheduling. She was prompt, familiar with my doctor and was able to call down to Ultrasound and get me in on the date and time frame I needed per my doctors order. I’ve had many Ultrasounds done here and this was the first time I really felt the need to recognize a staff member. Thank you Ashley.

SICU nurse Tried to deny my father and I the right to see my brother based on word of mouth that someone else had power of attorney. Paperwork for power of attorney was non-existent. Had to fight for my legal right to see my biological brother. An amazing security guard at the hospital stepped up to inform the nurse of my legal rights. Nurse behaved in an incredibly unprofessional manner, especially considering the situation my family was facing. Never IN MY LIFE have I seen a hospital grant a non-existent legal document!

Shorter than ever on staff. They even had to call in the national guard to work. The department that handles the surgical instrumentation constantly has dirty sets they have to send back. The Doctors threaten to leave they are so frustrated by the situation. The mind games that HR plays with you are unreal. Aultman doesn't even handle their own instrumentation anymore. They hired a company, to become culpable

I've been here two times to give birth. Amazing experience and coming again to give birth one last time in about a week. I've also been here twice for an Emergency visit for my kids, and a miscarriage for myself and every visit is just a great experience. Staff is so kind, caring, and friendly. Understanding wait times too because I know emergencies come in and ect. Absolutely love it here! Highly recommend. 🫶🏻

I came to the hospital because my doctor said I need iv antibiotics. Waiting in the ER for hours. I just needed antibiotics. 10 hour wait in a er is crazy. They should shut down the er if they can't handle additional patients. It's ridiculous!!

My mother recently passed away. She originally was at Cleveland Clinic (Union Hospital) Dover, Ohio. It was a bad experience. On the therapy floor you did not see a doctor but his team. The list goes on of what my mother went through. But I'll stop there. However, when my mother arrived at Aultman. She saw 4 doctors in the ER. And a 5th cancer doctor. They were kind, and caring. But most of all very informative to me and listened to my concerns. I will always choose Aultman.

One of the best places to have a baby, I had nothing but respect and absolute support from all staff. I have severe hospital anxiety, but this was an amazing experience. My birth plan was followed and read through, although it did not go as planned (and I am so glad it didn’t, get the epidural) I am grateful that my doctor (shout out to Varga!) and all of the amazing nurses, lactation specialists, anesthesiologists, and pediatricians for giving this first time mom an amazing experience!

Took my 90 year old mom to the ER with little to no waiting and immediate care for her once we were in and had her in bed. The staff and doctors were super knowledgeable, kind, and considerate to us. Mom had labs, X-ray, CT radiology, and was promptly diagnosed and admitted. Nurses double-checked meds being ordered and explained whatever they did and answered all our questions. I highly recommend them. Phooy on those number one ratings! Not at ALL our experience!
