This is a "little diner" as the name implies. You really have to look for this place. It is way off the beaten path. Once you find it, it is well worth it. It has a wide variety of Mexican dishes, but the gorditas are the reason to go. I ordered the three gorditas combo, and I took home half of that. The food is great, the service was great, the atmosphere was great. If you want a cold bottled beer with your meal, they have that, too. This is a must go place for locals and tourists alike. It's not too far from I-10 exit 6. So if you're coming to El Paso and you're hungry, this is the place.

Finally made it out here to give this place a try and so glad we did! Little Diner has been around since 1976. The building is older with plenty of tables and chairs inside. We heard they are known for their Gorditas so we ordered different ones to try them out, we ordered one with chile Verde, one with chile colorado, meat which is ground beef and one with barbacoa. We must say the Chile Colorado and the ground beef will be the ones we order again! The gorditas did not have too much masa but were still super filling! The plates come with rice and beans. They do charge $1.99 for chips and salsa but they give you plenty for the price. For dessert, we ordered sopaipillas and they were super tasty. The service was great, you can seat yourself and they'll bring you some menus. It was easy to pay because the check had a bar code you can scan with your phone to check out. Definitely recommend trying this place just like some famous people have in the past such as President Bush. Fun fact: This hole-in-the-wall was featured on Jeopardy in 2008.

Old, outdated, and food has lost its flavor from year's past. The chips were stale. The gorditas were too bulky and had no flavor. I was excited to share this lunch experience with family coming in from out of town and was very disappointed. The only thing that was good was the salsa. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Home food, fair prices, great flavor, good portions, and most of all friendly service. Gorditas are a must have!

I agree with the most recent review; the product is definitely not the same anymore; the gorditas were too big, the masa was hard and had a weird flavor/spice to it and the meat was not seasoned well but had a bad taste and color. The beans were on the brink of awful and the chips were stale. Not at all what it used to be. The service was great but that does not make-up for the food. It's very unfortunate.

My brother raved about this place. Service was very slow. Chips were stale, but salsa was good. We were told we would get cheese sauce on the house, never showed up. Gorditas were not that great, bulky and no flavor, chile relleno was good. Rice and beans were good and the taco was also good. Overall, not impressed at all.

Highly recommend the Chile Verde Gorditas and the Chile Colorado. Great flavor and perfect amount of spicy.

Unassuming restaurant nestled in Canutillo. We had our dog so we were able to sit in the large foyer area, which was perfect. It was very spacious and very clean. The waitress was very friendly and kind. The food was delicious. Authentic for certain. They even served our sweet dog a taco, something he had never had before, he loved it!!! What nice people and a great hometown restaurant. We will definitely return.

Extremely great restaurant off the beaten path in Canutillo outside of El Paso. It is definitely worth the trip for the incredible food and spectacular service. The gorditas are beyond delicious. Huge crispy and packed full of your choice of meaty fillings like Chile Colorado and Chile verde. The service here is impeccable and the staff is super passionate and friendly. Plenty of seating, table service and takeout. Parking in the front. Coke products. Highly recommend this restaurant!

Little Diner used to have absolutely delicious gorditas, enchiladas, salsas. Under new ownership who have no clue how to fix food Mexican food, gorditas nearly.inedible stale tortilla chips, salsa taste like it came from Walmart! Definitely unreal disappointment to those of us that have enjoyed Little Diner for over 20 years. Careful, leave an honest review and it may be removed by owner TERRIBLE FOOD! SERVICE DECENT

First off, it took about 25 minutes for a server to acknowledge us, and it wasn't even busy. Once the server got to our table he apologized for the wait and said we would get a discount for that. We ordered 1 cheese enchilada plate and 2 gordita plates with ground beef and verde. I knew the food wasn't going to be good as soon as I tasted the rice. It was hard and uncooked. The beans along with the gorditas had no flavor at all and were cold. The enchilada sauce looked and tasted horrible, like it had be there for days. We were ready to leave within 2 minutes after getting our food. We asked the server for our check and he took another 15-20 minutes to bring it to us. Oh, and he didn't give us the discount he had mentioned before. We will definitely never be going back there again. Ratings should give you the option to choose a zero star rating, because honestly that's what I would have given them. Do not waste your time and money on this place!
