I had a wonderful time here. The restaurant was clean, staff was friendly, and the environment was exceptional. This is located on one of the many waterways in Cape Coral. Boats drove by with families waving at patrons of the restaurant. I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere.

My family and I wanted some great Mexican food while we were on vacation. We tried another spot up the road and it didn’t scratch that itch of authenticity we were looking for. We settled on coming here for dinner. Where the portions were generous, drinks were flowing and right on the water which was great seeing boats go by. Our food came out before we could hardly get into our queso with chorizo appetizer. Let me tell you this was amazing here. My family couldn’t get enough of it! And my mom ordered and drink before we placed our dinner order, and her drink was in her hand before the waitress even left the table! Super busy but they got people in, fed and out! One of the best Mexican joints I’ve been to in all my years. The prices are a little bit higher from what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant, however the unmatched quality, service and experience is well with the price of admission.

Absolutely delicious!! The atmosphere is great with the authentic furniture, tile work ,music and food. Oh the food...its so good. I've included pics of the menu so you can view the amazing meals and prepare for your visit. Come by land or sea. There is docking right outside on the canal for your boat. You can also bring your dog for outside seating only. There is also dining inside if that is more your thing...its so pretty inside. Even the bathrooms are well decorated and clean. The staff is very nice and helpful. Cold beer, wine or mixed cocktails available. We really enjoyed ourselves. Such a great place.

The food was outstanding, but it was nearly 100° inside. It was so hot my wife nearly fainted. We left the place wet from sweat. No excuses!! Please get the air conditioning repaired or shut her down.

This is our FAVORITE Mexican restaurant! Everything we have had is delicious & the portions are big! They also have GREAT margaritas! Every time we go we have great service but we have had Lander as a server several times( we go at least every other week) & he's fantastic! You can sit outside or inside & on Friday & Saturday they have live music outside by the water & it's a great place to go have a meal & enjoy the food, drinks & atmosphere! Try the table side guacamole, it's always fresh! The monarchs queso is a must try & the chimichunga w/ shredded chicken is the best I have ever had. Try this place you won't be disappointed!!!

I live in Colorado where we are known for good Mexican food and this place is good. Margaritas were delicious, I got an AL Pastor quesadilla that was very tasty (and huge) and everyone else in my party enjoyed their food also. And the view outside is gorgeous.

I love this place. I highly recommend it, if you want to spend quality time with family, friends or as a couple, this is the perfect place. Whenever I want to go to a restaurant, be it on an important date or a casual outing, I always end up at Monarca, and WHY? Because the food is unbelievably delicious, the drinks are amazing, the service is impeccable, the atmosphere is charming, cheerful… and more on the weekends where there is a musician and comedian who will make you dance and laugh all the time.

First time here and the food is amazing! Friendly and attentive staff❤ very beautiful restaurant, i will definitely come back and try many of there dishes, so many to choose from. 5☆☆☆☆☆

Best Mexican food I've ever had. Chimichanga was so flavorful. My husband got the steak street tacos and he loved them. They also make fresh guacamole at your table side if ordered which we thought was cool.

I have passed this place many times but today was my first time trying and my expectations were definitely surpassed. Anyone can use the word "authentic" to describe their restaurant but these guys are the real deal! Atmosphere, furniture+decor, and food are all inspired. We tried birria and barbacoa tacos and they were out of this world delicious - best tacos I've ever had. Will definitely be back; service was prompt, staff was friendly, and charming location. This restaurant has a great view of the canal. The drinks were good the food was very good and good sized portions. The prices are reasonable. The service could have been better but all together I would recommend.

Came in for lunch they sat us down right away but did not like where we were sat. I asked our server Daniel if we could get a better view and he gave us seats next to the water. He was very attentive to us and made sure food and drinks were full. Had a great experience and the food was definitely worth it. Highly recommended.

I love this place! The service is very kind and welcoming. They are pet friendly, which is always a plus! They have indoor and outdoor seating and an area to sit near the water. If you come here, try the Jamaica (hibiscus) water and the birria tacos!

Second time coming here for Mexican food. Great atmosphere, beautiful carved furniture, fast, friendly service, and tasty food. Will definitely return. Had carne asada and veggie burrito. Also, outdoor seating by a canal available.

We spend winters in Florida. One of the first places we eat when we get down here is Monarca’s! They have a vast menu, the wait staff is accommodating, and the location along the canal makes for a lovely dining experience! Special thanks to our waiter, Daniel, today! Superb per usual! 🌮👅💦

The place is super nice right by the water. You have outdoor seating. The guacamole is made right at your table. The beef soup is outstanding. Karina our server is very nice. Plenty of draft beer on tap. I will recommend to anyone.

Phenomenal food and service. We were fortunate to have Karina as our waitress. Karina was very kind and attentive. Overall a great experience, we will definitely be back!

Wonderful Restaurant. I came here with several people and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the shrimp quesadilla and the shrimp were plentiful and delicious. Chips, salsa and margaritas were great as well. I went back and had a strawberry margarita, which was one of the best of my life. I ordered the steak chimichanga with cheese sauce. It was so delicious and tender and filling. This is my 3rd or 4th visit. Each time has been exceptional.

Sangria was quite delicious and if you like cilantro you’ll like the chips and salsa. Fresh guacamole made table side is a DO NOT miss! Shredded chicken tacos were yummy! I would come back.

Second time eating here and both have been really great experiences. This place is on a canal with plenty of nice boats to look at while you eat outside. Great nachos too.

Our waitress seemed a bit bothered with questions. The dish we order was ok, but not the best. The atmosphere was good; we sat outside by the water. It was a bit over priced for what is served, but I would go back.

I've always loved it here..it definitely has lost something in flavor. Great drinks, great friendly service but this time the food was not great at all. I had to send my dish back...Fajitas de Res...they were nice about it but I was disappointed 😞 Chicken soup was very good!

Anytime I see authentic in the description of a restaurant my anticipation and expectations are up. And Monarcas delivered. From the decor to the to the some of the entertainment provided we had a great experience. Service was great. Order were accurate and delivered in a timely manner. The food was prepared well. It was seasoned well? We Expected a little more flavor.

This place was very nice, clean, great service , and even better food. Great homemade guacamole that they make in front of you. I will definitely want to come back again.

Thank you for being open Christmas day. The waiter did table side ordering and the large queso dip was actually large. My family likes Mexican and in a sea of seafood restaurants, sometimes I just want the comfort of steak fajitas and they didn't disappoint me. Best Mexican I could find on the cape.

Really good food, but minus 1 star for nothing spicy on the menu. No pork green chili at all. But the service and the staff were very friendly and made the experience enjoyable. Definitely priced for tourists.

Amazing restaurant with great atmosphere. We had the Molcajete and the Fajita Trio. Both look, smell and taste amazing! Service was on point, and all were extremely friendly and helpful. All thevfood came out fast and were big portions. You definitely get your monies worth!

Food was great. Even though it was busy we got seated quickly for a party of 6. Unfortunately our server have us quac instead of the bean dip we ordered and she forgot our coffees and seem to take a while to see us but I will give a pass on the fact that it was busy. Will try again

Stopped in some lunch and drinks. Great spot. Excellent margaritas. We had the fresh guacamole and shrimp ceviche. Both were extremely fresh and tasted great. Highly recommended :)

It was just ok. I was asked by a staff member to leave a Google review while we were dining in, in exchange for a free margarita which I didn't take them up on. Several other tables arrived and ordered after us and they were done eating before our food even arrived. We had to ask them to check on our order. I Ordered the Hawaiian fajitas, thought it was overcooked and dried out, most of which I didn't eat. Nice server, but wasn't checked in on to see how the meal was, or if needed anything. It was just "OK".
