👍👍 I’ve always had good luck here and most of the technicians were friendly and caring. I went in yesterday for ankle and back problems about 2 pm and they weren’t too busy. I had 2 X-rays , consulted a doctor, and received an ankle brace in under 2 hours! I love this place! Much better than at home. People often mention staff, care, time, service, appointment, told, doctor, Cape, Coral, facility,

Apparently health issues are only supposed to happen for people on weekdays. Called on a Saturday for my Father In Law who is a Vet, 90 percent disabled in service, about rehabilitation services after a fall that resulted in a broken hip and after 2 calls being sent to extensions that rang 30 plus times. Finally, I have given up and am going to a private rehabilitation center instead. Haven't tried to talk to someone yet on a weekday but if you have any health related problems on a weekend don't bother because aparently no one works weekends there except the phone operators. Wow, and it's a brand new, fancy looking full service center; Clearly very expensive! Maybe the Gov should have spent less on the building and more on the staff to cover weekends so our vets can receive the care they need; even on weekends!

Apparently all vets are retired, old men. Women are vets too and shocker; some of us still have full time jobs. When I have to take a day off work to drive to Cape Coral from Naples to have a mammogram because I don’t qualify to have it done at the local radiology facility, that’s a problem. Don’t even get me started on the disgraceful “care” they provide females for GYN. I’m horrified.

I have transferred from Nashville to the Naples area. Was a great shock to me. In Nashville, I had so much access to VA services in a 30-mile radius including hospitals and surgery. Coming to Naples means I get my GP visit close by but for everything else I drive 45 minutes for eyes and general stuff and if I need major medical - it is on to Tampa. I am not complaining about any staff or services as everyone I have dealt with is a great and caring person. I am just shocked that the government will spend so much money on programs other than taking care of Veterans who gave this country their all. This country owes veterans something better than this type of healthcare system. The nice thing, my eyes were taken care of by a civilian doctor and I guess that is the way it works down here. Maybe it is the best approach - knock down these facilities and just send us to local doctors and eliminate these costs altogether.

I created a whole new Gmail account so I could leave this review. Obviously, I don't want anyone who works at the Cape Coral VA to know who I am. Anyway, here is why I am leaving two stars: Let me start off by saying that the Cape Coral VA is a million times better than the VA in Minneapolis. I have suffered from chronic pain, severe depression, suicidal ideation, and insomnia. These issues have made it impossible for me to maintain a normal life, or work life for that matter. I have had most of these issues for almost a decade now (somehow I haven't killed myself yet), and the VA's best suggestion is to take opioids and anti-depressants for the rest of my life. The problem that I have with the Cape Coral VA, specifically, is their physical therapy department. It was my first time seeing them and I was so excited to maybe finally get some help, some relief. Here's how that went.... I was rushed throughout my whole time in there, I was shown a couple stretches I already knew about, and then they had me lay on a bed in the corner with a heat pad on my back for 25 minutes, and the pad wasn't even hot! The worst part though, is that a curtain was drawn around me and the pad wouldn't stay balanced on my back, so I spent the whole time trying to get it to stay. That whole time the PT staff was joking and giggling in their office! I just wanted some real help. And if they couldn't offer me that, I would've much rather just been told that straight, rather than having my time wasted AGAIN. I don't think the VA, as a whole, can help people with the problems that I have. If they did have that capability, I would be okay by now (10 years later). If I could work, I would, and I would save up enough money to afford a real doctor in the private sector.

Total miscomprehension of veterans of mental disabilities. Was called a junky by my the head shrink. Shrugged it off as maybe I had a mini-manic attack (hard to remember during those); yet when I went back after a month to start my mental health plan the joke of a doctor lady called me a junky for my attempt to discuss medical marijuana, which prompted the junky comment. Just disgusted with the service from the medical staff. Tried to file a complaint, and was told not to bother coming back next month, because they wouldn't see me. Like I said just disgusting.

Eligibility office needs a complete overhaul. Came and waited for the 2 tall guys to finish joking and smoking to get me enrolled. They then didn't have me complete all the required forms but scheduled me for visits. When I arrived providers couldn't see me. Eligibility took no responsibility; asked me to fill out more forms. Really awful.

They could not possibly make things any more complicated. You can make an appointment on line, but it it doesn't go anywhere. You can try calling but you have to wait for them to call back. My call came 15 months later. I was at work driving a big loud truck. I could hardly hear the lady. I always take the latest appointment so I can work in the morning. I wrote it on my hand. She assured me they would send a reminder. They didn't. The time she told and the time she scheduled were not the same. I ended up taking a day off from work so I could schedule something else in the morning. Since they never sent a reminder or called to confirm, like real doctors, I called the automated system the night before. It said I didn't even have an appointment. I tried again first thing in the morning. When I was finally able to get a human, she said my appointment was 10 minutes ago. I rushed right there, 5 minutes away, but they wouldn't take me. Now I have to wait 3 more month. What’s 3 more months of a patient being in pain to Dr. Rahman? He doesn't care about any of his patients. Two of my friends have him as well and they both think he sucks too. It's not like he was going to actually do anything. He's never come within 8 feet of me.

My wife had had a cough for several weeks and after seeing MD Now a couple times and not getting appropriate meds, I suggested she go to VA Cape Coral as she is a Navy vet. She has not had restful sleep in weeks and was at rope’s end when she went to VA this morning. She had to use the drive up Ambulatory Care and she asked for a strong liquid cough suppressant and antibiotic. They gave her Mucinex tabs and in her frustrated state she threw them on the ground. Staff sent for security and 3 police officers arrived on scene. Rather than calm her down and use reasonable interventions, they opted to give a 68 year old woman with no criminal record a ticket for disorderly conduct and a court appearance. She got a flip retort when she told the officer she had never been arrested. . I called the officer and was met with disrespect and pomposity. Clearly this officer has no respect for female vets or anyone’s voice but his own. Disgraceful way to de-escalate the situation and lack of professional courtesy upon follow up.

Knowledge and customer service horrible. Tried to get a COVID booster shot after calling to verify I didn't need an appointment to get a booster shoy and asked multiple questions only to show up and be turned away because they aren't giving boosters right now. How about publicizing it VA you spam me with all other kinds of stuff via email. Why not put the word out when they'll be available again?

Do not go to this clinic if you do not have to. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. Chris Edwards even laughed at me when i was simply trying to make an appointment. If it wasn’t for Sara Brown I would have had another anxiety attack. I’m glad they can treat disabled vets this way and think it’s ok. I’m sorry I’m broken and that’s an inconvenience for your job.

Just the best out patient medical care available to Military Vets and retirees. They have provided not only my annual physicals including all the necessary lab tests for over 10 years. I am exceedingly pleased. They also provide my hearing impairment care and annual eye exams. Everyone is professional, highly skilled and up to date, friendly and caring. I couldn't ask for any better medical program. Dr Luber is a fine MD.

Not enough staff. Specialist doctors not at this location. Everything has to be sent to Bay pines for review, and they can only read reports or photos. Difficult to actually get the problems fixed, and despite the local provider network, they'll do anything to get out of that. Typical government junk. Don't expect much......... Very disappointed.

First off, No I don't work there. Granted we were there for 6 hours yesterday, but I have to say: I received outstanding care. Everyone I had contact with was great. From getting transferred into the Florida system (I'm in the NYS VA system), to the caring Doctor that took care of me, I couldn't be happier. I was stunned at how quickly they got me through all the testing they did. These people really care for the veterans they take care of. Thank you All.

The lack of empathy by the staff is uncanny. The lack of desire to help the veterans at this facility is one of the worst cases I have seen. I scheduled an appointment to meet with someone in mental health last year and ended up getting placed in a closet (literally a storage room for all their chairs.) and forced to talk to someone though an iPad. I was extremely upset about this. So I let some time pass (about a year) before I mustered up the courage to schedule another mental health appointment. I specifically booked an appointment in person as I want to be able to sit with someone face to face as it is more personable. They call me back this morning and they lady says did you let him know the doctor wasn’t in the office? They responded no. I start to go back figuring maybe they are talking about someone else. The nurse then starts telling me that the doctor in not in the office today as she is holding an iPad. I knew at that point they were going to place me in a room with an iPad. This is unacceptable and not what I needed. If I wanted to talk to someone through a screen I would have booked the appointment to be that way. I feel lost and not sure what to do. This VA facility is a joke and the administration should be ashamed that their staff is performing this way.

Literally every time I come here, I get the worst care. Was told I’d only have to wait a few minutes bc I was being seen after the current patient. An hour and a half later I had to leave…still didn’t receive care. I was laughed at 2 years ago when I said I couldn’t breathe bc they told me it was anxiety after I told them time and time again it was something else. The doctor literally laughed. Turns out I had Covid after going to the ER later that night.

These people are the most caring staff I have come in contact with. They treat you with respect and are genuinely interested in getting you healthy. I have lived here since 1976. Long before the facility existed. I used tohave to travel to St Petersburg when I had appointments, for decades. This Clinic is a God send. I hope someday they expand to a full hospital.

This review is on the PORT CHARLOTTE clinic. Front office staff are all very efficient and knowledgeable on navigating thru the VA. Our experience was very positive from entering the facility, took time to listen to our questions on transfer from the East coast to Southwest facilities. They provided information in all areas and access for all our needs. Appointments were made and transition was quick. Physician was very effective and expeditiously made referrals to specialists in house and with Community Care.

The VA center looks wonderful, my complaint is with the PHARMACY. When a prescription is sent by the doctor for pick up, that should trigger the pharmacy to know you are coming for it. Then when you sign in with them; you shouldn't have to wait 45 minutes for some patches and anti bacteria cream! Absolutely ridiculous customer service skills. The screen says come to the window if you haven't been seen in 30 minutes, but the ladies at the window just get an attitude and say "they are working on it. It's not ready yet" 🤦🤦 Absolutely the worst pharmacy in the VA system so far.

Excellent facility. But I was surprised that the COVID-19 vaccine isn't mandatory for the paid healthcare workers in this facility. Wasn't the vaccine prioritized for healthcare workers and the elderly for a reason?

This actually happened. While waiting for my prescriptions. A veteran asked if his medication were ready. And the lady behind the glass booth yelled at the old Vet.. HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR NAME YET????? The veteran replied no i'm blind. I approached the man and told him I would watch for his name. But the lady never apologized or nothing. Very harsh treatment for one of our brothers.

I never had bad services at the VA Medical Center Durham NC, and I transferred to The Cape Coral Facility and had 3 appointments in one day and the people were outstanding considering with their ridiculous huge caseloads, short staff, and limit Budgets. I see staff show stress from workloads and a few Veterans that are rude or have mental challenges. My mission that I accepted as a Veteran uncapped superhero is to make them smile through exceptional understanding, and appreciation for their service to us Veterans. Also when I walk in the waiting area and hear Vets bitching about the wait and looking miserable because they have a VIP condition I will go into the humor and happiness mode and it seems to work well. The real problem is with The top down starting with Washington DC, and Congress that are all talk about caring for us Veterans that is all hot air, the know how to spend Trillions of dollars on wars based on lies that kills millions upon millions of Veterans, crippling us both physically and mentally. Also, most deaths are civilians in wars. It's real simple why there are more veterans committing suicide today than from any other wars at around 22 a day.? Today, Soldiers know that their Commander-and-Chief, Congress and the Shadow Government that create False Flag Wars based on lies. Unlike in the Vietnam War that we believe was for a good cause and to retaliate for an alleged attack on an American ship by VietCong when decades later the the truth came out that our Government killed over 55,000 American Soldiers, and several hundred thousand of Civilians by lying about the attack on our American ship (false flag) our soldiers know the lies about Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Panama and many other attacks in the Middle East since 1980. This Year during Tax season The VA turned over more than 250,000 Veterans debts to the Treasury Department for collections that can be small amounts such has $48 to $66.00 Dollars including service fees. if not paid they stake out of your benefits? and I experience the nightmare when the turned in 3 of my amounts over the 90 day period that came to around 350.00 with Department of Treasury Collection fees. but within a week they turn over one that was the around $48.00 so I sit up a date to pay it but when I called here was 2 more turned over before the agreement to pay the $48.00, one or two came in making it a little over $125.00 that I worked out to pay in three payments. I'm not complain for myself but for the several hundred thousands of vets that struggle with many challenges that i'm sure it may trigger another veterans suicide? I say that as a former Certified Licensed Clinical Therapist working in the Mental Health field

I come from a long line of veterans which means I've had a lot of experience with the VA, I had rock-bottom expectations and they showed up with pickaxes, I have never met such disrespectful an outright lazy reception in my entire life, told the lady at the front desk I was having stomach pain after eating McDonald's and getting food she proceeded to roll her eyes and say oh that's all? Sounds like covid you're going to have to go out back, this same lady tried the same thing when I showed up with shoulder pain and also when I showed up with back pain, these people will do anything they can to get out of work including blaming everything on covid, shoulder pain is not a symptom of covid so when I told her I'm not driving around back she told me then go somewhere else

Horrible place to have to go to the VA. If you have a serious medical condition you will be dead long before you even get the test ran to see what is wrong with you. If by the off chance you can get in touch with a department to schedule an appointment they will hang up on you after telling you they don't think you need to schedule an appointment even though they have the doctors orders in front of them (audiology). They even told me to go to another doctor and just pay for it myself and send them the results at the VA. It seems to me they want to schedule your appoints so far out that either you die well before you have your appointment so they don't have to pay for it or they hope you pay for it yourself and just give them results either way they get off without having to cover anything.

The clinic itself is fine, it's the was the va's around the country is being run. This is the worst system i've ever seen. None military personnel don't have a clue about what vets need. I give them a half of star. In all of my years I've never been sourced out to a private doctor who has connections with the president. It's terribly run.

I have been a patient of this facility for 20 + years for Agent Orange and associated conditions. I have always been treated with respect and courtesy by the staff. My only complaint is that it always takes 15 to 45 minutes to reach a human being on the phone. If appointments are not available on a timely basis, arrangements can be made locally. Community Care has set me up with at least 5 doctors or facilities within 5 miles of my home. It is also nice to know that if hospitalization is required Community Care can be arranged rather than traveling 2 and a half hours to Tampa. For visitors that would mean a 5 hour round trip.

Optometry visit. 77 year old father w/ dementia (whom I care for) in tow. Script in hand. Knew it was going to be a wait because it’s a popular service plus staff gave me heads up on a prior visit. No worries. Had the misfortune of being the customer that chose a number just behind the lunch time cut off. Left to feed Dad when staff lunch times were was posted. At 77 he wasn’t fast nor were the cooks where we ate. We returned 10 minutes past the staff lunch return time. The number being served: 25. Mine: 24. Why all of this story? When I asked a staff member at the optical service desk if I would be seen the answer given was “I don’t know. I don’t do civilians.” Same individual had commented earlier “Speak up like you got a pair.” when optometry staff was calling out numbers and a veteran was calling out an affirmative. In the service dismissive and condescending rhetoric can sometimes be expected in a realistic sense. However a civilian veteran s dealing with multiple levels of difficulty an active duty service member may not. If he is unable to transition from military speak to civilian courtesy perhaps he is sitting in the wrong chair. Otherwise the other two gentlemen were patient and helpful. Courteous.

Efficiently run, good helpful staff, exceptionally clean. This is a better VA facility in terms of staff in my experience, but the system is still not the best overall, especially for the younger veterans. It seems like our issues get lower priority sometimes because of an expectation that our bodies handle injury better. Expect distant appointment times for specialists, though labs are usually quick.

I recently left a very negative review here, and while I feel a good part of my complaint(s) were justified, I have to give credit where credit is due. I recently had a case of exacerbated COPD, and swore I was either going to croak, or was going to be diagnosed with covid, and croak a short time later. I did a great job of aggravating a large number of people, (it's not terribly easy to remain calm when you can't breathe) but they helped me anyway. I'm sitting here now as if nothing ever happened after getting a whole goodie bag of prescription items, and figured since I AM still here, I would amend my review to state that when the chips are down, they come thru with flying colors even though they were being hollered at the whole time. Well, hollered at as well as I could between wheezing like an old steam locomotive, and gasping for air. Looking back at my previous complaints, I don't believe that I was in immediate danger of checking out against my will during those visits, I was just somewhat miffed that something I thought was pretty simple was taking so long. I think I'll try harder in the future to keep in mind what may actually be important here.

In 2013 I was bit by a small dog, DD214 in hand I went for a tetanus shot. I spent an hour arguing with someone in registrations. She said I did have, but should not be entitled to VA coverage. I finally had enough, I walked out went to triage, showed my CAC, and received a shot and some antibiotics. I ETSed in 2017, I went in again I walked in around 9:30 I sat in registration until 12:30, I walked out after not seeing a soul. I went down to Naples to register. I am so grateful I don’t have to depend on the VA for medical care.

While new furniture, and fresh black top in the parking lot yet again is I'm sure high on everyone's list of important issues the Veterans have to face daily, my poor husband can't get medicine prescribed by the specialist that the VA sent him to. They actually told him he would have to continue with daily headaches and migraines, instead of paying for hus meds. That's what your tax dollars pay for!

I have been to several VA facilities and I must say I am overwhelmed at the level of service here. Extremely through and dedicated staff help ensure of a great experience. The service here exceeds my civilian doctor visits.

We were met at the front on our first visit and escorted to our doctors unit on the 3rd floor. All questions answered politely.

😠 Review by Anne K. I initially left a 5 star review for Dr. Hall and Coastal Urgent Care on 2/18/18, and for almost 4 years, I periodically received IV fluids there to help manage a long-term, chronic illness. (My body doesn’t hold on to it’s fluids, and when I’m depleted, I become progressively sy...

😠 40 minutes after the doctor had seen me the nurse came back surprised, I was told the doctor told me I was good to go. No I wasn't, I was waiting on a doctor's note. They forgot about me in the waiting room. They let me walk out of the building without discharge papers or my return to work note for...

👍👍 Non crowded, everyone was polite, you didn't have to sit forever. The Dr. was friendly. talked to you, not at you, nice personality and gets straight to the point. Excellent. I would highly recommend Dr. Brown and the staff at this facility.
