This store has range by the buckets and you can spend a long time in here wandering thorugh the aisles and you will probably find something you want to buy. The non food section is particularly huge and they cover everything from electronics to sports. There are plenty of consultants on the shop floor who can answer questions, demonstrate products and help with tips ad advice. However, that reputation for range can also be a double edged sword because you go to Makro because you expect range and if there's something they don't have, it leaves you feeling disappointed. Pricing is competitive - more so than their sister store while parking here is free and plentiful. The checkout check is still annoying, but I suppose it's a tradition by now.

Makro is a great store. Like any other also has its challenges. Would be nice to have till points for disabled and elderly.Friendlt helpful staff and a clean store. Good specials. Get what you need from stationery to food and save

I loved going got yhete specials. Until today, what is priced on the shelves is definately not what you pay, you pay more. Very disappointing. When this was brought to the cashiers attention we had to fetch the price tags from the shelves ourselves. It was explained as, it's the sustem. And I liked there bargains. Liked.

Store kinda quiet. Went in to buy a car battery charger amongst other items. Asked a staff member idling around for assistance. Pointed me to an aisle or two away & continued with his conversation with another staff member. Walked out without a charger due to staff dismissive attitude... Sale lost....

I was instore for approx 30 min and got asked by at least 10 friendly staff if I required assistance. Fantastic service, clean store and a great selection of products.

Service and staff attitude unacceptable. Lazy, uninformed staff and dearth of pay points. I purchased a watch to measure my blood pressure and was assured by the salesperson that it could be returned within seven days if not satisfactory. I was unable to get the watch to function but was told that I could only book it in and I was refused a replacement or a refund after spending more than an hour at the store. I was told that I could not be given an answer as to when the watch was ready and that I just had to wait for a phone call. Travelling is also causing me additional expenses. Ken Freel.

Specials or promotion not everything on shelves and its not the first time best place to shop is the one pass milerton it's a pleasure to shop and queues moves faster.

I went to Makro to purchase a bathroom scale. It was faulty, so I returned it. The staff were all very helpful. One of the managers, Edwin Boer, offered me an upgraded scale at a discounted price. Overall a good shopping experience.

No parking for parents with kids. Good variety. Overstaffed, several staff just standing around. Point of sales systems can be improved e.g. not having to manually input the total purchase value after the till tallies it up already. Double checking of slips and purchase after you've already checked out. Waste of time and resources.

When we lived in the Southern Suburbs, we would use this Makro often. We have been living in the Northern Suburbs for many years now and we came to Makro Ottery to buy something. I have no complaints about the staff and their work ethic, as they are friendly and helpful. I can however notice little differences between Makro Ottery and Makro Cape Gate. It’s is so much more pleasant shopping at Cape Gate as the store is so much more brighter. This shop is dark and gloomy. When we popped in, it was a warm day and it was so hot, stuffy and miserable in this dark store. They really should invest in brightening the place as it makes for a much more pleasant shopping experience. I can guarantee it will be better for those who works here as well. Anyone would perform better if the environment they worked in was bright and inviting. Comparing Makro Ottery and Makro Cape Gate is like comparing chalk and cheese. Ottery is very untidy and disorganised whereas Cape Gate is well-organised, clean, bright and pretty. 👌

Bought a 50L 2hp Roybi air compressor box was sealed looking used. When we open the box on wheel thread we could see the item was used and returned before and resold to us. Will definitely return tomorrow.

I purchased a Ryobi line trimmer 8months ago from makro ottery, the trimmer gets used once a month just to cut my lawn. Then a week ago when I plugged it in it never went on got my warranty book and receipt and took it back to the store. A week later received SMS that the trimmer has been repaired. Get to the store only to be told the repair cost R900, the trimmer is 8months old. Warranty is for 2years. I do not have the time for kak business or having one of makro staff call another staff member to please explain why I must pay R900 for a repair that's under warranty for a machine I paid R1000 for. So they can keep the trimmer. GET THIS! THE TRIMMER WAS NOT EVEN AT THE STORE AND I RECEIVED 3SMS'S THAT IT HAS BEEN REPAIRED. TF That said, I normally purchase from makro once a month because I like how quiet the store is on odd days that's all not because they have excellent service. But I will never ever visit a makro store again. After this I read makro stores reviews there's many bad, and the good reviews makro's response is the cliente get mrewards, I don't know of mrewards but I should have a great deal of them seeing I purchase once or twice at there store monthly. But that ends today. Rather use Takealot or Game store, they are not as half bad as Makro is.

On the 27 December 2022 I've an online order with makro ottery, my order came on the ,on the 29 December 2022,by checking my beverages,this bottles is so dirty full of dust,when I checked the bottle the expiry date is the 10 December 2022 ,we on the 30 December,I called since yesterday the call centre the store this morning just after 9 like really how many expired don't you sell what an disgrace yo good

Had a delivery on 4/12/2022 with parts missing. There were a couple of hiccups but Makro delivered a replacement and collected the other. Communication could have been better but the outcome is good and I am a happy customer.

Makro Ottery has been around for many years, serving the community on the Cape Flats asa wholesalerand retailer. Although the prices are not always as good as we want it to be, there are always some specials that makes it worth the effort to go there. The shopping space is spacious and they offer a vast variety of goods. Unlike other retailers, they hardly run out of stock on their goods on special. There's also the advantage of the 3 months allowed for the run of dome good specials. The shopping experience is always pleasant as there are no long waits at checkouts.

I'm always happy to do shopping here. Just a little sad that they sometimes don't have stock of products that they advertise. Wish that they had a online section, where they sell their phone products, because not everyone has access to internet or know how to go about purchasing products online. Some people are scared to do phone providing cause they prefer seeing and inspecting a product before purchasing. Maybe that is something that can be looked into
