The nicest Sommelier. He made our time at Culture really enjoyable. He shared tools of his trade. We don’t drink alcohol but he briefed the mixologist to make a refreshing fruity mocktail. The live band was setting up so there was occasional sound system feedback. Culture has a good menu but they also allow ordering from Grub & Bine which is across entrance passage.

Great place for a chilled evening with friends and just an amazing ambiance. The food was top notch and the drinks and wine selection are endless. The owner/chef Matt Manning was a great host and created a welcoming space for each and everyone to enjoy and upon leaving thank us for our company. So for any and all wine lovers to pop in and enjoy the evening with good laughs and stories around a great bottle of wine.

During a trip to Cape Town, I stopped by the 'Culture Wine Bar', where I had the pleasure of tasting two exceptional glasses of wine. Beyond the quality of the wine, what made my experience unforgettable was the impeccable service provided by Elvis. His knowledge of wine, combined with attentive hospitality, made my evening great. Elvis has a natural talent for making every customer feel special, turning every sip into a true delight. If you find yourself in Cape Town, the 'Culture Wine Bar' is a must-visit, and don't forget to ask for Elvis!

Fantastic winebar and restaurant in downtown Cape Town! The selection of wines, also from outside of SA, is great and lots by the glass available. There are multiple levels, bars and dining areas, all with a beautiful atmosphere. The lady in the winebar that served us should get a medal for her sparkling and shining personality! Thanks to all the staff, sommeliers and owner for showing us around and taking good care!

i was really disappointed that there weren’t any vegan meal options. however, the owner/manager managed to provide my boyfriend and i with yummy vegan tapas. i was really grateful that they went out of their way to create special dishes for us. the ambience was lovely, i enjoyed the saxophonist a lot. the wine was a bit pricey but overall we had a good tasting and enjoyed our wine bar experience.

Amazing & unique restaurant, bar, lounge , wine tasting area...this venue has it all...there is no one word to describe the venue...service is excellent it has a wonderful vibrancy...the food is excellent...there's a choice between the bar menu/tapas & main menu...it's very much fine dining...the main menu offered lamb for around R330, a pork option & 3 other veg options the veh options were around R195 each...the portions are absolutely tiny...you would really need to order about 2 of the main meals to satisfy your appetite...the meals were excellent though...never knew that spinach could taste that good...the bar menu/tapas are also around the R165 to R190 mark but are very tiny so you would need about 3 of those...the deserts were R120 each & options were a few for the same price...we had the cheese cake & mascarpone cream other options were icecream & few others...the portions again were absolutely tiny...you would need about 4 or 5 portions to enjoy it. There is an amazing wine cellar with a wide selection of wines to choose from...if it were not for the absolutely tiny portions of mains etc I would have given this place 5 stars...

Exquisite atmosphere with truly detailed decor and setting. Friendly and expert service. The wine selection is mind blowing and the food menu has creative and unique options for anyone's preferences. Was there on the weekend and the Live music was International standard. What a truly fun, classic and cultured evening. What a gem!!! So much to offer.

I've been chased out of Culture on three separate occasions by the same sommelier in a super abrupt manner. On all occasions she said, "If you don't leave now, my staff will be killed on their way home to Khayelitsha". This comes after she brings the bill saying, "Please take your time", and then, 10 minutes later, confronts you with life-and-death realities. I don't want to dismiss the lived experience of commuting to Khayelitsha, but there are way more tactful ways to handle closing-up. All three times it was the same narrative, not allowing even 5 minutes to finish a glass because, "Every minute you spend here is a minute closer to death for my staff and I cannot allow that". This induced guilt trip to down a glass of exquisite wine really leave a very sour — and traumatising — taste. I really like your bar and would not have written this review if this was a once-off occurrence. Please continue ensuring the safety of your staff. But please also communicate closing times very clearly ahead of time.

Not only fantastic wine list (SA and foreign wines - many of them sold by glass), super nice and helpful staff, great atmosphere (at least sometimes with live music!), but also GREAT local cheese platter that you can’t miss! Corn risotto was also great.

Phenomenal experience. We came twice in one day for the tasting and then later for the live music. The sommelier and wait staff were amazingly knowledgeable and treated us like absolute royalty (bearing in mind it was quiet). The mushroom arancini was sublime, so much so that we ordered it the second time we came as well. Great range of wines by both lesser known, independent, small batch wine farms as well as the more well-known premium producers. This was an absolute treat!
