An absolutely fantastic experience! A taste of home cooked South African food So delicious and brings joy with all the amazing spices. Me and my wife enjoyed the food , Nolu who owns it is so loving and warm also she is the one who cooks the food. Plus she has a great background story . I highly recommend this place to anyone who visit Cape town and want a taste of authentic home cooked food.

We have come here twice during our stay and both times have been blown away by the food. It feels like real home cooking. We got a Seven Colours Plate, and had them load it up with whatever they recommended. We had the beef and beans - SO good. If I could I would happily eat here every day.

Traditional South African cuisine presented in a modern way. The prices are very reasonable and the taste outstanding. I ate here 3 weeks ago and made another visit soon after. The first time around I had a plate where you have a choice of mains with 4 side dishes. Beautiful slow cooked beef with chakalaka, steamed bread, coleslaw, spinach and beet, hearty food that just hit the spot. The decor ties in beautifully with the theme and the servers are really kind. A must go!

I ordered at 11.15 and had to wait until after 12 o‘clock. There were three other customers and at least 5 people in their kitchen. They totally forgot about me, only when I asked they were surprised that I had ordered (and paid) and started to prepare my order. It seemed that they also got my order wrong and I payed for something else but at least they gave me the rest for free and apologized. When they finally brought me the food it was in a take out container for some reason. I actually wanted to eat there. It was a pity that my last proper meal in SA was in a take out container but they were in general very friendly and the food was also really good. I would come back in spite of what had happened, though I can‘t bring myself to give more than two stars right now.

Delicious, fresh, flavorful, and nourishing food with lovely staff and an incredibly intelligent female owner. We had the chicken Malay and tried all the staples and all the sides. More delicious than any other South African restaurant we've eaten at in our 3 week trip. So happy to have eaten here the day before we head home - a lovely parting gift.

Wow! If you‘re in Capetown, this is definitely a must do! Go and eat here. It is super delicious, feels very healthy and not too heavy. Many thanks also for the introduction of the food and the excellent service. We‘ll definitely come back again

My wife and I had the seven colors plate. She had the oxtail (best choice) and I had the sausage. It came with several sides, and the greens were similar to top-notch American collard greens. The cole slaw had something special about it that also made it excellent. Excellent exposure to South African cuisine. Serves local beer 🍺

My first south African meal ! I asked for recommendations and the dish is amazing. It would be great if the menu has pictures. The price is reasonable and the portion is big.

This was one of the best meals I had during the entire month I spent in South Africa. Absolutely delicious fresh food (get the platter so you can try several different things), good beer, lovely staff. Will recommend this place to everyone heading to Cape Town.

I was only there quickly, and only drank the berry iced tea, but it was delicious! I love homemade iced tea, and this was very good homemade iced tea. Friendly service!

An amazing dinner at Seven Colours in the upstairs of the food hall at V&A Waterfront. Tasty, delicious and filling — I can’t wait to go back!

Our first stop in Cape Town to get authentic south African fare. And it should be everyone's first stop, so warm and spice-filled and wonderful. Get the seven color plate and a Cape Malay sandwich and delight in it all.

So delicious! Nolu made it a special experience by explaining the items on the menu and teaching us about the seven colours plate meal. My husband and I both went with the plate, we loved the oxtail and every single side that came with it. Out of all the places we went during our month in South Africa, this is a spot that stands out and we’ll remember. If we had more time we’d be back to try everything else on the menu!
