If anyone ask me which DR is the best, My reply is simple HB Medical Centre. Every staff member are friendly and helpful. All the DR's are professional, I never had a bad experience. I moved 2 years ago out of Hout Bay but I still take that 45 min drive to Hout Bay whenever one of my family or even myself are sick. They stick to appointments and they don't rush while they are seeing you. They make sure that when you walk out of the DR's room that you were 100% checked out. Other DR's tells you they can only see you for 15 mins, then you must go back because the medication you were given does not work but I can say with confidence HOUT BAY MEDICAL CENTRE are world class. I don't see myself going to any other practice. Thank you HB Medical Centre and keep up the phenomenal work, If I could give you small advise, try to get X-Rays done at your establishment, It would be so great if you could go to one place for everything. Thank you to all staff of HB Medical Centre, I hope you have a prosper 2021.

My daughter had a surfing accident and had a bleeding head injury. Doctor Strachan could see us immediately and stitched her up with just a relaxed demeanor, that he put her at ease immediately. Great doctors

I can highly recommend Hout Bay Family Medical Centre. Each appointment has been thorough. I have seen both Dr Strachan and Dr Weber. As doctors they listen and they care. They offer a warm and comfortable environment. I am exceptionally happy that I have eventually found the right doctors for me.

I have only ever received amazing services from this medical practice. My family and I have been going to this practice for many years. From the services at the front desk to the doctors(and we have seen many of the doctors there, depending on availability). The staff is friendly, helpful, and supportive. I would highly recommend it. I personally will recommend the centre to anyone with children the staff from front dest, admin and doctors are helpful respectful and polite. Its a swift in am out and they are so will equipped for covid that i could take my child in there and feel completely protected and safe. A very welcoming feeling in this pandemic. I attended this Med Centre for about 3 years (very little hassle). When I arrived, I brought my medical records/history/paperwork (covering 15 years) and they kept it in storage(?). When I was leaving Hout Bay, I asked for my records and the Med Centre had lost it (lots of movement, ownership change?). All they had was records of my appointments on their computer system. Negligence of the highest order

This practice has been amazing for my family.. My child was sick and we did not know what to do with a temp of 38 and climbing as soon as we got there help was given immediately, with an amazing nursing sister giving guidance to extremely amazing doctors, i wouldn't go anywhere else.

This practice is best avoided. I don't like writing negative revues and always believe in rather contacting the business to alert them to a problem. However this medical practice has still failed to show the slightest bit of apathy or interest in addressing their quite frankly uncaring, shockingly unhelpful service. The back story: One of my family members became ill and tested postive for covid. They then developed hiccups for 4 days. I called the centre to find out the protocol and how we could be assisted. ( A requirement by our medical aid). We have only recently moved to Hout Bay, and had nominated them as our GP. (First point of call). We were told by the receptionist that they wouldn't assist us ( not in person or telephonically) as they had no medical history for us. We must go to Medi Clinic. They did not say they wont treat or see Covid patients, we were told there was NO MEDICAL HISTORY, go somewhere else. We did, we called our second choice GP, who helped immediately over the phone and sent the family member for an xray. Turns out the member in question had developed a lung infection and could have died. I have waited sometime before writing this so I can calm down. I find this totally unethical and not how a doctor should run a practice. They have lost us as patients and I seriously suggest you reconsider using this practice. P.S I have since discovered all phone calls are recorded. ( Which I dont mind as I have nothing to hide), but in terms of the law they need to make you aware that they are recording their phone calls. They don't and therefore before you even see them, they are acting illegally.

It was my first time going to the Hout Bay Family Medical Centre today and am extremely happy with the treatment I received. I was attended to by Dr Horowitz and couldn't be more satisfied with her care and knowledge. Definitely will recommend this medical centre.
