It’s uncomfortable to leave a less than positive review of such a pleasant man but my experience with Dr Pillay was not good. I contacted Scinmed from the UK for an estimate of costs for myself and my husband. We booked a consultation for when we arrived in S.A and Dr spent a lot of time discussing our needs and expectations. Having had botox and fillers in Cape Town and UK previously we had realistic expectations. My first disappointment came when the invoice was presented after the first treatment and was much higher than the estimates. The increased costs were never discussed during the consultation or before treatment and we’re much higher than previous procedures in Cape Town (with respected cosmetic surgeon). Second disappointment was having to wait nearly 5 weeks rather than one week for the second stage of the treatment as Dr was on leave. No mention of this when we booked and we would not have done so if we had known. Third disappointment was that my husband looked worse after his treatment than before, with unsightly lines under his eyes to the point where everyone was asking why he looked so tired. My expensive treatment of fillers and botox has produced no discernible difference, especially compared to previous treatment last year but at least I don't look worse like my husband did. I raised all this with Dr and he was genuinely disappointed in the results to the point where he dissolved some of my husbands fillers and refunded him but this left him with a black eye for the remainder of our holiday and return to the UK. Whilst I paid for my first treatment he did not charge me for the top up treatments when I explained how unhappy we were but I’d rather have paid and received good results. Dr Pillay is genuinely a lovely man but it's only fair to let potential customers (especially from overseas) know the risks and after our treatment neither of us will feel comfortable having any further treatment in Cape Town-the cost can be higher than UK and results disappointing.

I wasn’t made to feel welcome at all. All three receptionist/therapists seemed annoyed by my presence which is very weird considering I had an appointment. When I was taken back for the treatment I booked, I was told it wouldn’t help me at all because my scar is too old. Very humiliating experience.

Dr Pillay and the team at ScinMed are phenomenal! I had various treatments with Dr Pillay, and he does extremely well to enhance your beauty whilst maintaining a natural look. Highly recommend :)

My hubby and I went in for the Lamelle peels at Hyde Park. The treatment and service was exemplary. Sameera the therapist is amazing and a true brand ambassador. We were greeted with courtesy and professionalism at reception by Leeane and when we popped in a few days later everyone remembered our names. This has become my new fave beauty salon and I will be booking my facial soon. Don’t be deceived, they look like they should be super expensive but it’s great value. Thank you!!

The best skin clinic by far for all aesthetic treatments. I do peels with Marlise and it has totally transformed my skin. She is so knowledgable and it’s always such a pleasure having a treatment with her. She is very thorough, and really takes her time to give you a relaxing and special experience. Highly recommend

I had the most wonderful experience here at Scin, with the most professional staff to the aesthetically pleasing look and feel of this high end medical spa! I was able to meet with the best plastic surgeon in CPT and prior have a fantastic peel done. What a treat! Highly recommend.

This is an amazing place . Everything under one roof for all your beauty and many of your medical needs . The therapists are very professional and helpful but most of all very knowledgeable about the treatments and products . I love that they are aware that not everyone has a huge budget and give different options of how to best look after your skin . The salon is beautiful and everyone is very caring . They have the latest innovations and lasers etc . I love going here .

I was recommended to go to Scin to see Jana, who I saw at my first consult, She was absolutely lovely! I only came to this spa to see her, as a friend told me how lovely and comfortable she made her feel. So traveled for 30 mins for this reason. My issue was with the running of the scheduling part of the business, I suppose the admin team, but not with any of the treatments. My first booking/consult - there seemed to be some sort of confusion with my booking time, but all worked out. My second booking - I was sent a confirmation 2 days prior. Arrived for 12pm booking (so to be clear it was not the first booking of the day). Again, confusion about my booking. I was then told they could see me at 12.45pm, but with someone new as Jana had an emergency and didn't come in that morning. (which I have no problem with - I have a problem with not being informed) I drove 30 minutes, on the stormiest day in Cape Town, plus my only day off, to find out that I had been forgotten about AND I should wait for 45 minutes AND see someone new. Its confusing that the admin team would not inform all the clients first thing in the morning that bookings and therapists have changed. Surely this is standard practice. Unfortunately, I will not be back because of the lack of administrative organisation.

I had the best experience with Dr Dos Pasos, such an amazing bedside manner, great guidance, just overall amazing experience. Can't recommend SCINMed and him more!

Dr S'lindile Ndwalane is an AMAZING dermatologist! She is very processional and knowledgeable! She took the time to explain everything to me in a way that I was able to understand! 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Have a feeling all those 5 stars are not real.....they asked me to wait for an hour as the Dr was " delayed " with another patient, or did they just give my appointment to someone else. Left and will not be going back...EVER

I've had the best experience at SCINMed! After years of dealing with rosacea, I sought out help and found SCINMed and Amy who has been absolutely incredible throughout the process. She's recommended products and treatments that have completely turned my skin around, and has been patient and cautious with her approach throughout. I'm now undergoing laser treatment to deal with the remaining blood vessels (with Jana) and she has been equally fantastic. Honestly couldn't recommend SCINMed more!

I was absolutely impressed with De Lange's professionalism, techniques and bed size manner. She has been incredible from our first appointment and still is. Even though I am still in my recovery stage, my results so far are already amazing. I would definitely recommend her, she is a vibrant Dr and very caring. I am very glad I was referred to her for my surgery.

Heartfelt thanks to Dr Naidoo for his professionalism and the manner in which he performed a multiple tooth extraction on my 8year old daughter. From the initial consultation up to the downtime healing Dr Naidoo and his able team, Abby and Sam, displayed the utmost care support and patience to a nervous child. She was made extremely comfortable and I must admit that the entire procedure was painless and seamless so much so that an hour after the extractions my daughter was back to normal in terms of her eating and engaging with her sister in play. The genuine care and concern offered from the team, including the Sedation Specialist, was incredible and exemplary. It has left and indelible mark that will be spoken of long after. The whole experience as a nervous parent has left me in awe. I was stupefied with how my expectations were not only met but was exceeded by sympathetic, understanding and caring nature of the entire team at SCINMed.
