We regularly supported this restaurant. We have had very good and tasty meals in the past. I usually order delivery and was surprised when I collected my lamb Rohan Josh at half the price at Uber eats. What used to be well cooked chunky pieces of boneless lamb was now a dish of bones and lamb of poor quality. I was happy to pay the Uber price of R 160 odd v restaurant prices of R65. Economic times must have impacted on this restaurant but the good food is now poor and I must agree with the other negative reviews. Hopefully in time to come the food will improve when they realize it’s their old customers who still supported them from the days at the waterfront.

The Jewel of india does not live up to its name at all.The trip was poignant. The lamb Rogen Josh is more like a soup. The meat had mostly bones and there was nothing extravegent about that gravy. The curries are bland and have no flavour. There are items on the menu but when you ask for them they don't have it. What's the sense of having a menu when halfbof items you don't stock or can make I asked for a prwn curry and they don't have,I asked for passion fruit they didn't have ,I asked for bombay crush, and guess what they don't have. The dessert is a total mess up.The sodjie could have not been made out of cheaper ingredients. The sodjie was uncooked, was dry and did not taste good.I advise you to please listen to this review. 🙏

One of best Pani Puri, masala dosa, and aloo paratha I had, to top it up the mango lassi. I would definitely recommend the restaurant. I would love to see some kulfi than you can get the chowpathy Mumbai feeling. Was difficult to find the restaurant.

Ignore the downsides. Go for food only.. dont have much expectations from staff, take it with pinch of salt, food is great.. and very cost-effective compared to other options. You will not regret experiencing this place. It's fairly new resturentz. Hence, it takes time to finetune.

I regret not reading the reviews here before placing my order. This place is not fair, on uber eats they offer a buy one get in free deal for butter chicken dish. I spend almost R200 on this dish plus delivery and when I unpacked it I got shocked. One small naan and 6 small pieces of chicken. This restaurant is not serious and if you guys continue like this we, customers, will stay away from you. I will never order anything there again. Such a horrible experience.

Bought as the restaurant says its a must try. Got 5 tiny prawn tails in 200ml container. Prawns were just steamed and thrown into the so called chilli. No taste whatsoever. Paid R144. Should have ordered McD for much better value for money. Won't be buying from them again.

They recently started South Indian food. I have tried masala dosa and uttappa. I liked it. First time sambhar was dicey but afterwards they updated it. Staff is smiling and friendly.

The customer services place and food is highly unsatisfying and rather disappointing. I had ordered 3 items through UberEats: 1) Buy 1 Get 1 Free Chicken Korma ( advertised to be served with Rice, came with 2 regular Naan breads instead), 2) Garlic Naan (Delivered as ordered) 3) Chicken Spring Rolls 5 Piece (Did not arrive at all!) Highly appreciate the assistance of Uber Eats as they had refunded my for the missing item. As for the quality: Small portions, bland, Curries had 4 small pieces of Chicken in them. Not worth the Money.

Wonderful tastes The price of R144.00 does not include rice so you need to add R35.00 onto the price so nearly R180.00 for 4 bits of chicken and rice feels a bit lofty. I rang the restaurant and the lady explained that the special is 250 grams a bit smaller than their normal 350 grams. The portion is childlike. The container was not full of chicken and barely one breast. Shame when people pay fair money to not great a fair portion.

The best indian restaurant for a reason in Cape town and that of course is the taste. It's so authentic in taste that you would not feel like you are having a meal somewhere outside india. Highly recommended

Ordered food and visited the place during our visit to Cape Town. One of the only places where one can find chapati(roti). This is not a pure vegetarian place but the Owner Kamini ji is very accommodating and helpful.
