My husband made a booking but closer to time we realized some of our friends could not make the time we booked so we messaged to cancel the booking and informed them we could only get there later- they were very accommodating and said they would love to change our time so that we could still visit them. Upon arriving, everyone was very welcoming and the atmosphere was great. Now for the food… absolutely delicious! Full of flavour and cooked to perfection! The hazelnut cappuccino was also great and so was the delicious waffle with ice cream which the lovely staff brought out singing a birthday song for one of our friends. Management were very attentive and our waitress “Accurate” was wonderful. 10/10 would recommend.

GREAT SYRIAN CUISINE EXPERIENCE. Summarized: 1. Parking is tough. 2. You cannot walk in, bookings have time slots and they are not open throughout the day. 3. Amazing and flavorful food + drinks. 4. Syrian coffee is quite the experience. 5. Service was not the best. 6. Mandatory 10% tip is already included in the bill. Full review: I've seen a few Instagram posts of Damascus and decided to try out this establishment. The restaurant is on a main road, so parking spots are a bit hard to find. When booking to eat, you can call or whatsapp for a specific time slot. The times given to us were: 12:40 - 15:15 15:30 - 18:00 18:50 - 21:15 21:30 - 23:45 Times might change so please call and ask for availability beforehand. My partner and I ordered the Damascus ice tea, Peach and Blueberry+mint, which were lovely and very refreshing, however, the Blueberry and mint tea is very sweet, so if you don't expect your ice tea to be very sweet, this isn't for you. We ordered the humus with lamb which was tasty. And the Grilled mixed platter, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this dish for people that are visiting this restaurant for the first time, it has so many flavors and a bit of everything (in terms of grilled meat), the saffron rice was the best I've ever had. The dish is also served on a silver dish with coals inside to keep the food warm. It was quite the experience. The Syrian coffee is a must try for coffee lovers. You can pour the coffee into something like an expresso cup and it is very, very strong. It has a pleasant cardamom flavor, and is served with a complimentary Turkish delight (ours was mint flavor). You can buy the coffee itself at the restaurant to make at home, for a 200g bag it is R95. Service was not great, there were only 3 waiters working the front area where we were and we had to wait and flag down different waiters to help us with ordering. However, Madj the manager checked up on us and was very sweet and pleasant. And lastly, a 10% mandatory tip is included in your bill, that is just something to keep in mind when you're attending this establishment for the first time, as not all restaurants work this way. Overall, a great first experience to great Syrian food, will definitely be coming back again.

Amazing everything! The flavoured coffee was amazing, the food was super tasty. I can't handle spicy food, so I could enjoy the food because the spices were exactly just to taste, not to burn. But if you enjoy hot food, don't be sad. They give two types of spicy sources and peppers as well. Then everyone is happy. The environment with nice music, not loud. And the service: super top! We will come back for sure!

I just visited Damascus restaurant on Wednesday. It was my first time experiencing Syrian cuisine. Firstly I was impressed by the environment and upmarket decor. Secondly I was impressed by the prompt service and the generous and tasty portions of food. I particularly enjoyed the hummus and the grilled mixed platter. The place is clean & upmarket, the staff were warm, friendly and welcoming. Overall I was impressed with the prompt service, generous portions of food, value for money and great Syrian cuisine experience. I will definitely be going back there soon. 10/10

Amazing food and service, my husband and I were in Cape Town for 3 days and went here for dinner 2 of the days it was that good. Food is phenomenal. I recommend the mixed grill and lamb chops, the lamb shank was also great. Very yummy baklava and amazing Syrian tea as well, we had multiple rounds of it. All the servers were so nice and helpful, always there to help with anything. The owner even came to talk to us to make sure we were having a good time. Also the whole place was VERY clean. Bathrooms are spotless. Really pleasant environment. It was a great experience 10/10 will be back!

Shared a mixed grill platter (for variety) and fatoush between two people - portions were more than generous and over sufficient. Atmosphere is great, very cosy, and the owner, Muhammad, takes special care to check that all guests are enjoying their meals. Overall a wonderful experience.

We just visited the place. Great atmosphere. Good service. I had a hummus and lamb plate but I could count the number of lamb pieces honestly for 145 it was a bit of a joke. The hummus lacked the smokiness and lemon was not added to garnish. I think they should add pictures to the menu itself to help us poor souls. The creamy prawn was a nice meal but the ratio of rice to prawn was not balanced. All in all I'm not returning.

The place is very very nicely kept. It's a intimate space. The food was great, my order looked like a big steep pan pie with lamb kebabs 😋 Their hubblys are on point, they even labeled their bottles according to the flavourful 👌🏿 The apple tea is something that's a must try!!
