A table at sunset was the perfect choice, especially as you watch the city come alive. Staff are attentive, friendly & work well collaboratively to deliver your culinary experience. The tasting menu (available in vegetarian too) is very well priced for the experience & the pace of the dishes was perfect. Each plate, a taste adventure that delights the senses. I also appreciated the personalized touch. Sitting alongside a private function created a noisy environment which took away from the private, romantic notion. The restrooms uphold the chic design however not having toilet rolls indicate that some of the restaurant service attention to be shared. Even though it's autumn, the green pool needs to come to the party too.

The entire evening was incredible. The food was delicious and the portions were larger than expected. The atmosphere and views were spectacular.

Utopia is a rather popular establishment, and so booking well ahead of time is recommended if you wish to secure your chosen date. Their service to me has always been impeccable. We have only ever chosen their tasting menu, which is very well presented and of good portion size and what I believe is a rather reasonable price per head. It doesn't matter whether you are seated facing Bo-Kaap, the Docks or City center, the views are absolutely spectacular. This is one place I would highly recommend again and again!

Wonderful views and beautiful food. Well worth the visit. Unfortunately, our waiter was rather unattentive. We had to wave him down repeatedly to order drinks and the ice requested 3 times never arrived. One of the managers noticed our struggle and stepped in to assist. Well done on that. If the service had been on par with the food and view, this would have been 5 stars.

Decided to treat ourselves for the last night of our honeymoon, and Utopia did not disappoint. The food and our waitress were superb! Cocktails were lovely also! A lovely little surprise at the end of dinner also.

Had a lovely, relaxed evening here. Views of the City are incredible. Food was good and great value if you have the tasting menu. Look out for it as it wasn't directly offered and only a small card on the table. Service was a little slack but ambiance was good and it was a great place to spend a hot Cape Town evening.

Had a lovely evening here celebrating one of my friends’ 18th birthday. Loved the 360 views of beautiful Cape Town, especially at sunset. Amazing ambience and food was very flavourful. I had the seafood platter and it was honestly some of the best lobster, muscles, prawns and hake I have ever had. Would 10/10 recommend

Probably the best meal we have ever had. Stunning views of Cape Town, friendly staff and it must be wonderful to be a chef there... amazing food. Do yourself a favour and make sure you visit this restaurant.

Our visit to Utopia was amazing right from the start. Our waiter Bongani was attentive, made sure we were comfortable in the scorching heat wave and the food was just scrumptious. I am not a lover of seafood and would never order prawns off a menu, however the spicy prawns that came as part of the tasting menu was so delicious, that I would order that dish again and again. All round great experience and I will definitely be back again soon.

Great atmosphere

We had a lunchtime booking and the venue was fairly quiet. Food presentation was outstanding, dessert was so good we forgot to take a picture! Service was attentive at first, but got slower towards the end which often happens in a quiet restaurant. But overall excellent value and spectacular views, despite the cloudy weather.

What a wonderful Christmas venue appropriate for the occasion. The server staff were sharp and not once did I see any of them taking even a small break. Certainly the highlight of the venue is the wonderful views over Cape Town from the balconies which seem impervious to Cape Town's familiar wind. To be fair, it's not a cheap burger joint and the prices reflect that, but food quality was really on point - steak was well-aged and prepared. Portions were generous as eveidenced by many takeaway boxes on tables. The one lift serving the restaurant is not sufficient for peaks times and wheelchair users will have difficulty navigating this venue.

I went here for my birthday and couldn’t have picked a better place. We did the tasting menu which was delicious! Portions were perfect size, view is beautiful! You can mix and match between the meat and vegetarian menu which is great if you don’t want lots of meat. Price is very reasonable for what you’re getting! Tip: book ahead of time, ask for a table by the window. Get there early to have a sundowner looking over the city! Enjoy! :)

We had an amazing lunch on a week day during our holiday. We pre-booked for lunch, arrived and were immediately shown to our seats. Our waiter - Loried was amazing (nice and friendly), He ensured we were comfortable with our seats and then proceeded to take our drinks and food orders. He was very knowledgeable, spoke nicely and eloquently at all times. Drinks and food arrived in good time. The food was just excellent. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the Grilled Octopus as a starter and Fish of the day for my main and I highly recommend both meals. They were busting with flavor and cooked to perfection. Sizes were generous too... we all walked away super satisfied. Definitely a place to visit if you are in cape town. The views from the rooftop were just amazing. You had the city on one side and Bo-Kaap on the other. Seats were spaced out nicely so you could walk to admire the views. Highly recommended a visit Edits* - We visited again and this time we tried the 5 course tasting menu.... Food was just delicious. The Venison was cooked to perfection and all 5 courses were served with top notch service. 👌

Incredible spot! We did the five course tasting and wine pairing menu and were not disappointed. Service is incredible and the views are unparalleled! Their cocktails are also really good. Try book a table at the windows to get the best view, and go at sunset time if you can.

Loved this place. The food is great, and the value is insane. R350 for a 5 course with wine pairing! The roof was great, nice views and breeze and decent distancing between tables for corona. Would definitely recommend it over and over again.

This restaurant is ALL about the view, which was the best during our time in Cape Town. Added to this the food was generous and exceptional. would particularly recommend the steaks which were perfectly cooked and delicious. Peter was friendly and helpful and in overall the whole staff were too. Cocktails and wines were also high quality and tasty. Not the cheapest restaurant but definitely worth a visit.

Views of Cape Town are to die for! Fish and prawns were delicious, I haven’t had juicy lemon butter prawns in a while and they did not disappoint. The carrot cake is different from your normal carrot cake, I highly recommend. Will definitely return to try their food and wine pairing

Tried the 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing and it was delicious. The only complaint was that the Springbok was slightly overdone. If you are just getting into the fine dining scene, then definitely give the tasting menu a try.

Utopia 5 Stars.... This place is great! Atmosphere is nothing but amazing staff was amazing & the breath taking views. The Manager made our evening with his fun & bubbly personality making the customers happy is their main priority. Where do i start on the food to die for from the starter to the dessert. Absolutely delicious dishes, beautiful presentation and tastes of everything was outstanding. I recommend to everyone! Ideal for those who want a romantic night out.

Very good; naturally the views are absolutely sensational. It's a perfect place to come for a drink and a light meal. The service we had was also pretty good. It's a definite must visit when you're in Cape Town.

This definitely has to be one of the best times I've had in Cape Town. Situated on the top floor of The Capital hotel, it has gorgeous views of the mountain, ocean and city. It is elegantly furnished and seems to be constantly (and unsurprisingly) buzzing. The cocktails taste good. The food also an experience, with great service. We tried the chicken wings and ribs, as well as the halloumi salad. We must have caught the live DJ on a good day as he played the perfect music and quite literally made us not want to leave until the end of his set. Most amazingly, it is quite fairly priced for a place of its stature, not what I expected at all. Definitely no complaints and can't wait to go back.

AMAZING VIEW!!! Very good atmosphere but cocktails are really expensive depending on your budget. We paid R180 for 2 Gin Tonics with their cheapest Gin. Ciders and Beers are okay. After 6pm, men must wear closed shoes.

The vanue has one of the best roof top views in the city and surroundings. Just shy of 270 degrees view.. Fresh and delicious food, menu is well priced too..laid back background music

Please do not support this place. 2 hours before our booking they called to say our table is now forming part of a larger table and there is no longer space for us. Worse than that was woman’s attitude, she just said it is what it is. I was extremely disappointed that this is the customer service one would get. I told her we can’t support you if this is your level of service and which she replied to “That’s okay”, be careful booking at this place, they wouldn’t hesitate canceling your booking last minute.

Great atmosphere and the service was top notch. Got to try their tasting menu and my goodness was it great. They really take their time to prepare each one of their 5 course meal and this is an an experience I would recommend especially for the value you get for the price. Exceptional

Very nice, posh Capetown restaurant with good service and nice views. Almost a five star but the food, while delicious, didn’t quite meet the 5 star level/price of the menu. Prawns surprisingly a bit overcooked. Steak was near perfect but a little over seasoned for my taste. Excellent wine list! Still, a strong recommend for a nice dinner with good ambiance and good service.

Booked this venue in April (7 months prior) The views are amazing, pity about our service taking forever, forgetting some drinks and blaming things on the system that went off line. Sat here for more than two hours without even getting to our main course. Pity! Had some starters, the were nice.

Great place, wonderful setting. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was excellent. However, adherence to COVID regulations was abysmal. There was not enough distance between tables. The people were over the allowed capacity. And people were allowed to walk around without masks and did so freely. I felt uncomfortable. Management should do much better. So stars off for that unfortunately.

Fantastic restaurant with spectacular views of the city, mountain and harbour. Great service, great food! Their hand-cut chips are amazing and their springbok fillet, beef rib-eye steaks and prawns absolutely delicious. The only downside is that it is a bit pricy.

Wonderful experience provided by Utopia Tasting Menu. Starting with the Ceviche ,then moving onto the Spicy Prawns (which wasn't that crazy spicy). 3rd we had the Springbok and this was so tender mixing with fig and port jus. Last meaty dish was beef cubes surrounded by onions, mushrooms and veal jus, this was my favourite. We ended the Tasting Menu with Creme Brulee and mini fruit pieces. Great favours in all the dishes. The view was panoramic from our table as we saw Table Mountain and the Harbour. Service was great from start to finish.

Perfect dinner, great service! and really accommodating and professional. I loved the live singer and Lorene, our waiter and Patso the Manager were great! They wore masks and kept to time curfew as well. Highly recommend the ribeye and cowboy steaks and the prawns and Butternut gorgonzola salad, My partner loved his 30th birthday dinner there. Great place. We were curious and tried their tasting menu. Not only the service was friendly and courteous but also quick. One of the waiters, Peter, suggested a small change for the ceviche course as I don't eat fish. The agnolotti he suggested was on point. Magnificent views of Cape Town make the rest of this definitely enjoyable experience.
